I have been coming this hotel from 2016. The service used to be the BEST. Now when and you point out the mistakes you are been viewed as a guest that complains. The service is horrible, the don’t value the loyalty of their guests. Pathetic!

Had a lamb curry for dinner via room service as the restaurant is closed. Had to use my cellphone to call reception and duty manager as my rooms phone doesn't work, no answer from either numbers. I walked downstairs to reception to order. My food arrived in a plastic container with a wooden knife and fork. No plates meaning I had to attempt to eat my lamb curry with a bending and splintering knife and fork, imagine trying to cut through a piece of lamb with a bending knife in a plastic bowl, not bad for a R200 meal, its small things like this that makes the difference. Hope you sort this out, I wish you the best in this trying time, this is my last meal and stay in this hotel.

Beautiful Hotel situated at the Gateway Mall, easy excess to Umhlanga business, city, Airport and Hospital. Well maintained and high quality service. COVID19 Protocol and standards are observed all the time.

Aha Gateway Hotel is the best hotel in KZN, well trained staff from the management to waiters. Serving with the smile. We are appreciated your hospitality. I admire Ncamisile (Ncami) she is one of the best.

It's a beautiful hotel. However electricity doesn't work when you are away. Left some beers for 8 hours cane back still hot, even our fones and powerbanks were not charged. That is the thing that makes me not to ever book again.

The bar was amazing and the rooms were nice and comfortable.

Reception with absolutely no customer service skills except for the student at the desk this evening. Hotel “management” decided we are not good enough for the rooms we had booked and decided to give them away without even communicating to us even though we had a booking confirmation.

Felt like a 4 star hotel, very neat, great service and great location. Attached to the gateway shopping centre, very convenient. We also took a walk to the garage, felt very safe. Breakfast had a good variety, easy check in and check out process.

I truly had a remarkable experience. From the warm welcome at reception by Zama during check in up until my room by the pleasant and kind porter Bonelani. He was always available at most stations up until our departure and packed our bags into the car. A lovely and wonderful experience. Will surely come back. Mr Lethole.

Aha Gateway hotel is a 3 star hotel but feels more or less like a 4 star hotel. It is situated in Gateway, a 3min walk from the Gateway Shopping Center. The staff here are great, rooms are clean and look beautiful with lovely touch points like daily Lindt chocolates left on you pillow after a room clean and fresh towels folded into shapes of elephants. They have a standalone hot tub that stands out, placed almost in the middle of the room. Makes the room look premium and modern. The bathroom is part of the room. There is no divider/wall that separates the room from the shower, hot tub and basin. The toilet however is blocked off and there is a door for closure. This place is definitely great for it's price. I have stayed here on a business trip but it is affordable and good enough for me to consider coming back on holiday.

Lovely hotel in Umhlanga, conveniently joined to Gateway. Very accommodating, clean rooms and very spacious. Didn't get to try the breakfast but definitely will next time I book there! (I'm sure there will be a next time! ) The only disappointment was parking availability. If hotel parking is full, you'll have to park in the Gateway mall underground parkade which is not the most secure in my opinion.

We got the smallest room which is extremely cold, the heater is not working — we requested blankets and the guy who brought them was so unfriendly and wasn’t responding to any of the little talks my husband was making with him, we thought he was deaf but we recalled that he came earlier on to bring the first blanket and answered what I had asked. the toilet can’t flush properly, the flusher and toilet paper are falling apart. But other than that the food is amazing…

Nice Hotel, all perfect, large and clean rooms. The hotel is not central but it is close to a large shopping centre. With 10 minutes by taxi you are in the center where there are all the restaurants on the sea. Friendly staff and very friendly. Good breakfast Correct price. Recommended!

Beautiful indeed cozy, classy and perfect place for getaways. Cards & cash accepted, spa, gym, nice views. Its perfect for kids due amenities around, the main one being Gateway Center.

It’s an awesome hotel, the staff are incredibly friendly and always goes an extra mile with NO complaints. I am overwhelmed by their service. I would like to give extra gratitude to Du and the lovely ladies that were working with him at the Canso conference rooms… I felt in place and taken extra cared for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Good hotel experience if you're travelling for business. Nothing fussy when checking in. The rooms are a good size, the amenities modern, and the location very convenient.

A great hotel which provides excellent service. Very pleased with the set up and decor of the venue hired for a birthday party.

Parking is not enough. Food was tasty. Rooms clean. Shower was a disappointment. A few silly rules. Overall it was a nice stay.

Everybody was very friendly except for the lady handling my booking. Rooms were modern and simple BUT the shower was a small problem since the glass was complete unfrosted and transparent. This was a long time ago so I hope that AHA has fixed this when they took over from three-cities.

The staff is very friendly and efficient, rooms are very neat and met all my expectations. The food was fresh and tasty. Being closer to the mall is an added advantage as all the shops are closeby.

We spent one afternoon / evening at the hotel and were totally satisfied… from check-in, to the helpful friendly staff and the convenience of situated right next to Gateway shopping center. If you out for dinning, shopping or just a day away, we would recommend you try aha Gateway.

I stay here 2 weeks a month for work and am generally impressed with the service of the staff, but the little things in the room bug me. I am very impressed with the service delivery. The night manager, Lee, does an exceptional job in ensuring that guests feel welcome and that the degree of service delivered by the wait staff at the restaurant and bar is tip top. The menu options at the fig tree can be improved on. I was not satisfied with my room as there were a few things broken. However the complaint was handled very quickly and professionally.

What an incredible hotel! Would highly recommend. Will definitely be the only place I stay when visiting Durban. Rooms are wonderful, food is amazing and the staff are so friendly.

As per my previous visit, beautiful hotel. Pity the housekeeping staff don't take pride in how they clean the rooms. Sometimes grimy and often dull surfaces of what would otherwise be beautiful finishes. The restaurant has improved significantly, and a serene Sunday breakfast was unfortunately marred by the raucous singing of a choir over a very loud sound system in the marquee adjacent to the balcony. Fortunately I managed to enjoy the ambience without this noise on Saturday morning. Overall, very good value for money.

Had a conference here, the staff were very friendly and the lunch spread was great. Nice and close to Gateway and the beach is fairly close too.

Rooms need to be carefully examined for servicing. Rooms I stayed in had a broken bathroom door and a loose shower head. Only few TV channels to watch which make it rather boring when spending a relaxing night on holiday here. Internet is very slow and does not allow people to enjoy the usage of it.

Stayed at Gateway Hotel a good 2years back. The staff were very efficient and cheerful. The room was cosy +++. They have a lovely pool deck on the roof. I also enjoyed the breakfast very much. So much to choose from! THANK YOU GATEWAY HOTEL STAFF.
