Very beautiful place to recommend to others.

My husband and I booked for a relaxing weekend away and it was most definitely a place to unwind and rest. The service of all the staff members we met during our stay were all so friendly and warm. Thank you Justin, Jeremy, Kelly, Lucky, Rose and Ruth (at the spa) and everyone else too. The breakfast was absolutely lovely. We had booked a couples massage at the spa and the level of technique the ladies displayed were phenomenal. We felt so cared for and felt so refreshed after the treatment. The cabin we booked was cosy, clean and comfortable and definately lived up to the 4 star. Thank you for the R&R and keep up the high level of service.

My husband and I booked for the Valentine's picnic and what an amazing time we had! Staff were so friendly and welcoming and also very informative. We went for a walk on the scenic walk trail and when we returned, the staff had setup our picnic spot so beautifully and we were served hands on! We will definitely visit again in the near future👌

When booking a two night getaway for my sisters 21st, as I could not be with her due to this pandemic… this place was amazing to deal with from our initial email! They went out of their way and ensured me that they would make this a super special birthday for my little sister… well after speaking with my sister and seeing the pictures I was blown away by the extra mile they went to ensure everything went smoothly and the setup was perfect!
Thank you to Thato and the amazingly friendly and accommodating staff for dealing with my constant emails and demanding mails.
On my return to South Africa I definitely will be booking this place for my family!

Attended a wedding there in August. Everything was superb. The venue is fabulous with a magical dry river gully where the ceremony was held. The service is faultless! They not only answered questions and fulfilled requests, they wanted to ensure that every guest had an excellent experience. This was my experience with every member of staff. Every one of them. I recommend Whispering Pines for your celebrations, and for your quiet weekend get aways. 10/10

What an Amazing Country Lodge. From the minute we arrived we were impressed. The staff are extremely helpful and respectful. My wife and I have travelled the world, and I can say with comfort that this is a world class Lodge. The food was prepared with excellence and taste. Was a wonderful 5 night stay here. Staff are very friendly, food is great and stay in the Executive suite was amazing. If you are looking for a quiet private weekend away from the city this is the perfect place. Lots of activities nearby as well.

Very beautiful venue but loses a lot of points because of no handrails on steep stairs and walkways making it almost impossible for people with mobility issues to get around.

I had the priveledge of taking my wife to this amazing break away destination. All of our expectations were surpassed. The service is of the highest standards, even better than 5star lodges we have visited before. Housekeeping with clean towels and linnen daily and on the 1 day they actually came and cleaned twice with fresh towels put out. Israil and Elias have treated us as Royalty and made sure all of our requests was taken care of. Even booking our activities at other facilities. While we had dinner went out to our cottage and started the fireplace at our request. The linnen is of top quality. The spa is a place that literally takes you to another world with great therapists and an amazing variety of treatments to choose from. When it comes to the food I can honestly state some of the Top chefs worldwide can come and take a few pointers. With a well balanced and variety during breakfast to pleasure your palat, the dinner courses is out of this world. I can highly recomend the Mussel starter and Rack of lamb main. This is a must for any couple for a break away.

Very tranquil romantic getaway hotel for couples. Had a fantastic 25th anniversary break for three nights and we were impeccably well attended to by the staff. A couples massage put a final stamp on a relaxing stay which encompassed scenic walks, swims and delicious dining. Highly recommended.

When it's quiet it has a very sad feel The yoga is amazing ask for karl van der Walt when you there he will spoil you in the spa and gives yoga lessons Something different if you feel like spoiling yourself.

Went for lunch and Israel the waiter gave superb service and the food was excellent. Will be back.

Stayed for two nights with family and loved the scenic and peaceful location. Staff were great and so friendly. Fires in the restaurant and bedrooms made it so cosy. Food and drink reasonably priced, breakfast superb, wine selection well chosen, great lunch menu and you can choose either a two or three course evening meal. We had the Duck, rack of lamb and sole for mains, all three dishes were superb. Enjoyed the table tennis and billiards in the games room and we loved the Gorge walk through the forest. Will definitely stay again.

We had a return visit after about 10 years happy to say it's still very peaceful and the rooms and beds are very comfortable!
We were a little disappointed with the food my husband ordered the duck and it was very over cooked and dry and he actually left most of it. We did point this out to our waiter but no one came to chat and see what the problem was and we were the only 2 people in the restaurant so I expected a little bit better there. We didn't even get offered coffee afterwards!
Breakfast was very average also.
I would also have expected filter coffee in the rooms. So accommodation and setting is great but food could definitely be better for a four star establishment.

Food was not worth the money.

What a wonderful place. It's tranquil, and peaceful to the max! From the moment we got there, we were greeted by the friendliest staff. The cottages are very private and well equipped. We spent a special evening watching movies under the stars while enjoying a wonderful packed picnic basket. The spa is a definite must! Very well trained staff who carry you on the hands. I felt so revived after a wonderful massage and a facial done with only the best products. I would recommend this place to any couple for the most romantic getaway.

4 Star estate with 5star service and accommodation.

Beautiful place all round, so peaceful and refreshing. Next time I come back I will definately stay for than just 2 nights, it's just not enough. We enjoyed the hospitality shown to us by the stuff, great work guys. We made memories. One thing I would change though is the Alex's attitude towards us. We had booked a package of 2 nights, bed, breakfast and dinner. We therefore came prepared with our meat to braai for lunch only to be met with arrogance from the manager of the… place. We told Alex that we had already brought the meat with us and we asked him to let us braai and his first response it's not his fault that we bought the meat. Shockingly disrespectful. We tried to reason with him and he said "not in my property" and he just walked away. Such arrogance and disregard for guests from the manager of such a beautiful is unacceptable. Just when we started making calls to look for a "bring and braai" park around Magalies he suddenly changed his tune and started being all nice, I didn't buy his smile. He said he wouldn't want us to leave the place and he said he will arrange a braai place for us, which he did. But his utterances and disregard for guest still left a bitter taste in my mouth. I hope he reads this and try and be a better manager. Thank you,
