Awesome with super breakfast.

They could do far better given the location, price and reputation. I wanted to order some champagne for breakfast, not available. Instead of requsted peper mill, I received peper in small fast food like sacks. The same was with salt. Unbelivable. It felt like in a cheap hotel
in former Soviet Union. Go somewhere else for less miney.

Beautiful hotel in the center style with private parking, spacious and well-kept rooms, super comfortable beds, very quiet. Toiletries, bed linen and towels of excellent quality. Breakfast great and very varied.

A great hotel with spacious room and lounge area. Was a little disappointed with room temperature which could not be set to increase the temperature but the hotel is great and the whole feel and look is what we expected the location is very convenient for exploring the city.

Breakfast is a bit chaotic, probably due to the size of the hotel. Parking is a bit difficult, expect lots and lots of maneuvering. Otherwise, swimming pool is lovely and the hotel is ideally located in the town center. Garden / terrace is really calm.

I would also like to share my thoughts with you on staying at your fine hotel: Without doubt Grand Hotel Union is one of the favorite hotels we have stayed with during my our time traveling throughout Europe! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff, the staff were extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this! ), the food was excellent and the restaurant staff deserve a special thanks from us. We had two great evenings here watching the World Cup, which obviously also added up to the experience in Ljubljana. Don’t get me wrongall the staff deserve a special thanks from us! We visited may of the local restaurants which were recommended by Blaz and Gregory, who were both fantastic members of your team. Both have such warm personalities and were highly motivated and ensured our stay was unforgettable. If I ever open a business in Slovenia I may have to poach staff from your fine hotel  All respect for the general manager who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent management, otherwise he/she would not have such great staff. Thank you again, until we visit Ljubljana again.

Very nice hotel, high level. I used it more than once for both business and personal vacation. Breakfast is gorgeous and position is very close to the city center. 10 out of 10.

We had a room with castle view & balcony on the 9th floor. Couldn't have asked for better accommodation. Two minutes from the old town main square. Rather than booking online, give them a call instead. You may get a better deal or a better room that way.

Used for underground parking, pretty much downtown in the pedestrian zone at an affordable price without trying too much parking! Ideal if you want to visit the city.

Great place except when showering at 7am on 23 Apr, room 622 the hot water flow was so irregular that I got alternately scalded and frozen. I suspect that that plumbing pipes are too small to handle normal hotel surges when many people are washing and showering at the same time. Later, while shaving there was zero hot water flow when the sink handle was turned to full hot… and then, if you waited, it flowed again. I suspect that I'm not the only person with this problem.

Great rooms, awesome breakfast. Had a room with balcony and nice view. I was on the floor where pool is situated so I was constantly listen to the buzz sound of machines.

In the center of Ljubljana is among the best hotels. Excellent location, spacious and spotless rooms, excellent service, quality kitchen, parking service, shops, swimming pool, spa etc. Fair price.

Old-fashioned hotel (outside), renovated inside, with fairly modern and efficient facilities. Good and abundant breakfast buffet, there is also a fitness center, massages and a very popular fashion barber (only for men). The bar offers a happy hour in the late afternoon at acceptable prices.

The hotel is perfectly located 5 minutes walk from the very center of the city. Friendly staff, great breakfast, good Wi-Fi.

The grand hotel is deserving of its name with an old charm to it. Has good rooms: they feel somewhat old fashioned but then the hotel is pretty old. I stayed on the "personal" side of it. Maybe the "business" side is better. Staff were kind: smooth reception, and helpful answers to all the practical questions. The pool and spa area was pretty cool. They have a large-ish pool, you can do mini laps. The sauna area was clean quite and very relaxing. It's five minutes to the three bridges and the heart of the city. Very convenient to go out.

The Hotel is very clean and the rooms are very small. Half-board Menu not standard but I think good and tasty.

Excellent Hotel a stone's throw from the center, very close to all the main points of interest of Ljubljana, Triple Bridge, cathedral, Old Town, about 30 minutes walk from Ljubljana Castle. About 1 km from Metelkova, an artistic center a little ' in disuse and scruffy but very particular, and the hotel is also close (some km) to the motorway exit. Hotel very clean, underground parking Maybe a little Cardenas (20 euros per night), but very useful to avoid constantly looking for parking in case of trips for excursions, equipped with swimming pool and sauna, almost always full in very high season but beautiful and Functional, spacious rooms with large beds (1 square and half) and comfortable, large bathroom and equipped with everything you need. Buffet breakfast huge, available both excellent coffees — cappuccinos, as well as international breakfast of fruits, vegetables, sliced bread etc. Etc. Highly recommended!

The hotel, with its top location in the middle of the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful rooms with good facilities. We felt very good. Gladly again.

Great company party. The services at the Union are exemplary and we had a great time. They took care of our taste buds and food was great for everybody and wide variety as well.

The breakfast they serve is the reason to stay at this hotel above all others. It's seriously good and it's so popular that getting a seat can take a few minutes, at least until they start opening up adjacent rooms. Seriously, it's a lively experience. They have a full spread for breakfast, including sausage and eggs, pastries, fruit juices, coffee and cereal. Almost any breakfast food you can think of actually, and then for good measure a few that aren't your typical breakfast foods. The location is very central to Ljubljana, with the castle a 20-25 minute walk away (although be careful as it is significantly uphill. If you're not in decent shape it's probably a better idea to drive up the hill and park at the castle. ) There are a handful of cafes nearby, if you exit the hotel and take a right. Once you get to the river, if you go left before crossing the bridge, that puts you at a place named cacao which is highly recommended. That entire district is exciting, even when I was there in January. Everyone speaks English but they do appreciate it if you learn a few basic phrases beforehand. Google translate is your friend here. The hotel is kept up well, but as is typical of the area, the fit and the finish of everything is a bit worn down. The shower bucks this trend at the expense of having an unusual configuration — the hardware is on the side of the tub facing towards a glass panel that runs about 2/3 the length of the tub with a swivel door.

Perfect location, literally a stone's throw from the old town. Big and we'll maintained rooms. Breakfast is not to be missed — they certainly don't skimp.

Parking was a hot mess, not enough spots, and you pay 20€. The accommodations and bathrooms were very spacious and I enjoyed the view of a hideous building. The balconies are all connected so when I ventured onto the balcony, I could easily see into my neighbour's rooms. The breakfast was good but they do not serve Expresso. Great location and within walking distance to the main square.

The rooms are super clean and above all great. Enjoyed the stay at this hotel very much.

I was in the business part of the hotel, so can only write something about it. The rooms are furnished with all the expected Standard. Some rooms even have massage chairs. At the top there is a spa area with very pretty pool Area. On the first floor there is a fitness room with a treadmill, among Others. There was no cross, or Elipsentrainer at the time of my visit. The staff speak English and german, and are very accommodating. Overall it is not a new hotel, but it has a lot of charm!

Definitely the best hotel in Ljubljana, stayed here many times, brilliant staff, great rooms, fab service, outstanding breakfast!, lovely new bar and recently refurbished restaurant, lovely indoor pool, will certainly be back.

I stayed on this hotel recently. My hotel room was really pleasant and the interior side of it was good. The amenities are also very reasonable. As I was on the first floor, there was some noise coming from a sort of machine/generator close by and that was not great. I am not sure if this can ever be changed. The breakfast is really nice and with a big variety.

I enjoyed my stay here during a work trip. The hotel is located in the very center of Ljubljana. The breakfast was very good. The dining room had a nice atmosphere and the waiters were very nice and responsive. The room was clean and well-furnished. The bed was comfy and the water pressure in the bathroom was strong. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to visit the beautiful city of Ljubljana!

Superb historic hotel in excellent location near the Triple Bridge. We had a large comfortable room. Cleanliness was impeccable throughout. Good selection at the buffet breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Clean rooms, diverse breakfast, exceptional staff — polite and helpful. Really nice facilities on site — spa, sauna, pool, restaurant etc. You can even hire a personal driver! Location is really good, right next to both Ljubjana bus/train station and near the city center — easy to get around from here.

We stayed for 3 nights in August in a twin room on the sixth floor of the new part of the hotel. I was impressed by the size of the room and the wide, comfortable beds. Great view of the castle from the balcony and no noise from inside or outside. The decor was of a high standard in general but with a few oddities like the plastic toilet cistern, not enough towel rails and bath with slightly cramped shower conversion. The swimming pool on the top floor was smart and clean, but small and a little crowded when we went. Breakfast was very good with lots of hot and cold buffet options. This hotel has a great central location within easy walking distance of the main sights.

This hotel was probably nice some years ago, but I'm convinced this city has better to offer for this price range. Like the name suggests, it's a "Grand" hotel, many rooms, many people. Indeed, expect a breakfast full with a lot of noise. Same thing for the Spa, don't even think about enjoying a swim in the pool by a warm day. The rooms are confortable, but very simple. I was expecting a better experience from this place.

I got bad memory of scars by Union poor and old bottle opener. Location and swimming pool was good. We should change the room 3 times because of bad smell from bathroom.

This was a fantastic place to stay in Slovenia. The staff was attentive in all the right ways. The room was perfect. While I have no idea when I will be back in Ljubljana, I know we will still at the Great Union.

Great for business meetings. There were a few nights for work, the place is central, the locals manicured, the staff always friendly (but how do they do? ), the rooms spacious and cozy. Fully functional Wi-Fi in all areas of the hotel, meeting room (the Silver room) spacious, excellent food. And on the 9th floor swimming pool, fitness room and sauna. Doing business meetings in this hotel is definitely a great choice and the prices are average. I recommend it.

Im from Ljubljana. Was there many times. Just for coffee or lunch/dinner etc. Anyway that is very good hotel. Can recommed it.

I stayed here for work for three weeks straight. The staff and the hotel are great. It's a no frills hotel but its incredible location in the center of Ljubljana make it the place to stay if you are coming to Slovenia. So many restaurants, shops and bars near by. The hotel sits on a a dead end street so there is little car traffic, mostly pedestrians. The restaurant on site was great as well. If I ever go back to Ljubljana, this is where I would stay.
