It’s a lovely spot…but overrated. The rooms haven’t been updated in 20 years I’d say, including rotting stairs and moldy pillows. Other much cheaper lodges like Hakuna Lodge give you the same rustic feel with much better service, comparable food for much cheaper, and rooms at 1/4 of the price. Plus kayaks, stand up paddle boards, fishing, beach, bikes, play area for kids — A LOT more for a lot less. Someplace comparably priced like manguiers de guereo is MUCH nicer, with truly excellent food and service. So skip this place. As an aside, I have never seen such horrible service at a $300/night hotel. Literally no one works here. 2 waiters for the bar and restaurant over a 3 day weekend — it’s been like this for 5 years. We also had no key for our bathroom. And order breakfast at our room but no one ever brought it — we waited 20 min. Note also the lack of railing on the “family” tree house.
A fantastic place to relax and enjoy the amazing scenery. Great team! One of my favorite places in Senegal and beyond.
