I stayed one week at Anjum hotel. The location of the hotel is good as it’s near the Mosque but unfortunately when trying to get there you need to cross the road but it’s too unsafe. There are no stop lights so you just have to wait until the cars stop and then you can cross and also they are doing lots of road work outside the hotel. The reception area is pretty, love the carpets and decor around the hotel. But the rooms are not too big, furniture is simple, no bath just shower and they provide toiletries and towels. They do provide a nice buffet for breakfast. There is a prayer room for males and females just in case you can’t get to the mosque. They also have a market inside the hotel. The market is beautiful but too over priced. I’ve seen a lot of things they sell that’s sold in the local shopping center for much cheaper so check out the shops outside first before you buy anything there. They still do sell lots of other really pretty things that you won’t find anywhere else. Unfortunately they don’t have a key to the hotel rooms just card. I went with my autistic brother who kept running out of the room so for us this wasn’t right but for others I’m sure this won’t be an issue. The cleaners didn’t hoover our bedroom properly when asked and wasn’t too thorough with the cleaning but that’s because they are underpaid and overworked. Most of the people working there are Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Africans as well as some Malay and Indonesia’s. They’re not treated well and aren’t paid well unfortunately which is really sad. There are no gyms or spas in the hotel and you have to pay so much more if you want to include Lunch and Dinner to your package. We went outside for lunch and dinner but it’s hard to find decent places to eat around there unfortunately. Your room will also have a TV (everything in Arabic), kettle, two cups and spoons, fridge, dressing table and two chairs but no microwave. The owner of the hotel apparently has 4 wives and 15 children which is disgusting! Personally, I would never go back there as you can stay in other places for much cheaper and stay comfortably. You have to hunt around and do a lot of research to find the right hotel for you.
