Review of Le Uaina Beach Resort 2*

Comedy of errors, right from the start. Dated rooms, average food, poor service and sneaky overcharging. The rooms were extremely dated and poorly maintained. There was mould and paint peeling on the walls, and the shower dribbled out water that was sometimes hot if you were lucky. The aircons were so old, they leaked water and there was a puddle on the floor. We had two garden villas, one of the villas was so bad were had to move to a poolside room which was considered an "upgrade" but I would hardly classify it as an upgrade. Shower still didn't work and doors wouldn't close — bonus of this room was that it didn't feel like you were in a prison cell. The food was average at best, they didn't have a lot of items available. The menus gets VERY boring after a couple of nights and no specials are offered. The bar and restaurant staff were lovely and their service was great and the live music that was offered each night in the restaurant was fabulous. The reception staff were rude and unhelpful. We had numerous complaints we wanted passed onto the manager/owner and were looking to get a refund and leave to another resort. The reception staff said they had spoken to the manager and that this was not possible. On the final day when we actually spoke to the manager/owner we found out that he had not heard ANY of this, and the staff had been lying to us. At the end of our trip, when it came to paying the bill, we found we had been overcharged about $500. All in all, we did not enjoy the experience at this resort at all, every other place we stayed in Samoa (in a similar price category) was above and beyond the quality of Leuaina beach resort.
