Nice hostel, good pricing. Camping available.

Their chicken wings are finger licking good! Quiet and peaceful.

Good spot, nice staff. Camping area is small and next to the bar so can be noisy at night. Breakfast is nice but small portions. We left our gear here while we did a side trip to Goma and they charged us quite a lot to store our stuff. Overall, a good experience though.

Great place. In the middle of Kigali. It is near most of the places and had a great bar for night time!

The prices are more expensive then a hostel in Australia (I think 20usd for a bed in a dorm room). No fan, bathroom light didn't work. No towels or soap in bathrooms. My Laundry wasn't done after 24 hours, so I ended up taking my soaking wet clothes off the line myself so I could take my flight. The Wi-Fi didn't work the 3 days I was there. The common area is nice and open and feels homely but.

Interesting enough, in need of some updates, fresh linens, paint in bathrooms etc. It is very clean just dated, lower level basement rooms felt a little dank in my opinion. Understand their money goes into the community and that was nice to support. Breakfast, and coffee was nice, I also had dinner, which was home style local, and delicious. Thank you for having me.

The atmosphere is good, but I'm disappointed because the staffs are so noisy and not sophisticated. Breakfast is not prepared by the time 7:30 because of their laziness. Some of the staffs are chatting and enjoy loudly calling with their friends without taking care of visitors. I'm doubtful if the owner educates the staffs. Maybe not.

Nice hostel. Clean bathroom. Good food. Service could be improved at the restaurant/ bar. Great location and very safe location. Service overall was great and very friendly.

Not bad. There are better hostels in Kigali, though. Breakfast was adequate. They accept credit cards, which is nice. The location is kind of far away from the center of town and the Wi-Fi is extremely slow.

I really recommend you staying in a tent. They can borrow you the tent. I think it's better than a dorm.

I feel like the bar and restaurant area is really nice. The staff are attentive, kind and eager to help. Which I really appreciate. They also have a laundry service, and the woman that does the clothes is really fast, so you can get them by the next day. However, there are key things that make it sucks to stay here: The food service for dinner was really slow. It took an hour and a half to get my meal. I had a room in the basement, the bunk beds need updating. There were large cracks in the frame, or haphazardly nailed back together, which made me feel uneasy about getting to sleep. The bathrooms here are terrible. The water pressure was almost nonexistent in any shower that I went into, which meant that you could be using dribbles to bathe your entire body. Hot water would not run either! At one point, the shower next to mine backed up and floated the entire floor room, which was gross to step into. Bathrooms are make it or break it for some people, and I feel like this was such a break.

Perfect for flexible solo traveler — met plenty of awesome people with whom I explored Kigali. The hosts were competent and provided what I needed. Thanks!

Although I've never visited this actual location, I did stay at the original Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel, before it was moved in 2016. Staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and diligent. They have an excellent range of additional services and also often run great, fun entertainment.

Nice place to be and enjoy, good athmosphere and friendly waiter, good taste food and nice african tea.

This hostel is for most backpackers in the city and its a really cool place to hang on an evening.

Nice meals and good environment. The price is also affordable.

Camping is possible. Relatively high prices but good place to meet people.

Just needed a bed and it was suitable for that. Breakfast was mediocre, staff was friendly and helpful.

One of the nicer backpacker joints I've stayed at. Ideal location, and cool staff and other travellers.

Great place to stay. Moto drivers know where it is (for the most part), the staff is friendly and the Wi-Fi works well without any problems. You can get a beer or a water at all hours of the night (waters cost about twice as much as the corner shop 25 metres down the street though) and the bathroom's sink didn't work at all. Got a bit noisy at night, but I'd stay there again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to others.

An. Absolutely delightful experience! Staff were all pleasant; some spoke fluent English, but all were very friendly. And helpful. There are a variety of accommodations available, from dorms to private en suite rooms. Both the bar and the lounge served as dining areas. Breakfast is served buffet style, and other meals, occasionally. Generally lunch and dinner are individually ordered and served. There are restaurants, grocery store, and ATM nearby.

Very agreeable place. Inexpensive, clean, friendly atmosphere. The staff is exquisitely helpful, they will go out of their way to give you advice and directions, will even write it down for you. It appears that the staff has the idea they want to make this world a better place. They even give you emotional support when you come back heart-broken from the Memorial. Also free Wifi. (The shebeen next door sells banana-beer, be warned, it is not as innocuous as it appears. But the clients & staff there are very friendly too — but this is but a digression). Of course, it is a Youth Hostel, not a 5 star hotel, but if I had the choice I'd rather stay in Discover Rwanda than in any hotel. 5 stars.

Sweet people, cool guests, reasonable prices, good food. Breakfast included. What could be better?
