Not a bad hostel. We took a 4-bed room. The bed linen is clean and fresh, the room is very spacious and well decorated. There is no air conditioning in the room, but there is air conditioning in the hall, and it’s not hot at all. The toilet and shower are shared, always clean and tidy, there are no queues. There is a shared kitchen where you can prepare food and drink tea if you wish. By the way, tea, coffee and sugar are free here) )
But there are also disadvantages: the beds are creaky, the mattresses are soft, and they are not very comfortable to sleep on. The towels provided are a bit small. The rules state that you cannot eat in your room, only in the shared kitchen. There is a shared refrigerator in the kitchen, where you can leave food by putting it in a bag and signing it. In general, the package in which our products were located disappeared from the refrigerator on the second day. I don’t know who might have needed it there, someone just shook the food out of it and took it. A residue remained after this incident.
In the second half of our stay, a huge number of families with children moved into the hostel, running around the corridor and screaming, and the sound insulation, unfortunately, was very poor.
There were also other guests who at one point filled the refrigerator to capacity, so that we simply had nowhere to put food. These guys even managed to stuff frozen chicken into the communal refrigerator, Karl!

Wonderful hostel, lovely administrators. Clean, new furniture, no stupid rules. Administrators can help with choosing excursions for tourists. We lived in a 4-bed room as a family, three of us, we really liked it and didn’t share anyone else with us.

I liked the hostel! Everything is clean and tidy, homely. Several shower rooms, a large shared kitchen. Iron and hair dryer are available. Friendly administrators. I would recommend this place and come back again.

We stayed at the Kukuruza hostel for a week in mid-August 2020. The hostel is located in a very convenient location, close to the metro and the historical center of Kazan in general. It’s easy to park your car in the courtyard, the hostel is very clean, everyone takes off their street shoes at the entrance, so bring slippers with you. There is a kitchen with dishes, coffee, oatmeal and sugar. Just buy your own milk and the simplest breakfast is ready for you. Ironing board and washing machine cost separately — one run costs 100 rubles. We didn't find any cons. And the owners and administration of the hostel are nice, friendly people. Great respect to them! And yes, I almost forgot. Bring along a refrigerator magnet with your city or favorite place or favorite hobby. You can place it on the refrigerator — it will be a cool tradition!
