Excellent hostel! The staff are very friendly (no English is spoken but you just have to use Google translate) and they work tirelessly to keep the place spotless. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms are kept sparkling clean and new. The showers are some of the best I have come across in any hostel anywhere in the world-hot, good water pressure, clean! Super fast, reliable Wi-Fi is also included. It is directly opposite the train station at the foot of the pedestrian overpass. Highly recommended.

Located a 5-minute walk from the city centre of Ulan-Ude, Hotel Mergen Bator features an indoor pool, a spa and wellness centre, an on-site restaurant, free Wi-Fi and free private parking.
Excellent location, just opposite to the train station and not too far from the city center and walking distance — 45min to buddhist temple Datsan 'Rinpoche Bagsha' Cleanliness at its top, with perhaps the best bathrooms of hostels I ever stayed. Bike hire possible for 500R. Unfortunately staff doesn't speak English wich unable them to give you tourist advices etc.
