We could easily book by calling and e-mail. The price was good for room with breakfast. The village is great and the guesthouse had good comfort. There are many tracks to explore the nature around the village, even a view point to see the Danube. The village is authentic and on a church day or festival day you can see the red and white and black traditional costumes, beautiful. The hosts were nice. The local association run here in Eibenthal supports the Czech community, has ties with Czechs and did a lot to support sustainable tourism. The breakfast was great, especially the last one after the festival was over, a total treat! The place has its own beer and the Czech kofola. The food is very good at the restaurant, czech specialties. Portions medium sized, but consistent food. They were very accommodating for our meals, for example standard breakfast starts at 9 (a bit late, to be honest), but they arranged it earlier. Overall 5 stars also because it is unique place in Romania with lots of soul put into it and also promoting and supporting the local community.
It was spring and as it was cold, even if we could turn on the AC, the room did not get warm very soon, the floor and the bathroom were very cold without a heating system. There was a festival, so the regular restaurant menu was not available, at 8 in the evening there was not a suficient variety of dishes available and they were precooked grills.

We spent an extended weekend in Eibenthal. It's a romantic place in the hills above the Danube. The Pension Eibenthal has become a pleasant retreat. The rooms are new and very clean. The temperature can be easily regulated by the air conditioning. We especially appreciate the absolute tranquility. If you need to relax in nature, it's a great place for you.
