I had the private room with private bathroom and aircon. Super comfy and cozy room at an affordable price. For me it was too far out to move around without my own transportation (which I hadn't). Downhill towards the center it's a 30 min walk but back uphill was pretty tough and took me 45 min or so. A taxi ride I took once costed me a crazy 35 euro for a 7 min drive.
This is the best hostel on the island of La Réunion:
Location > The hostel is a bit outside of St. Pierre, but you can easily walk to the town. A car is certainly helpful (as everywhere on this island) and luckily there's enough parking.
Hostel > It's a small and cozy place: Well furbished, with a nice courtyard and affordable laundry service. The rooms are not too big, but there are curtains so you get your privacy.
Owner > Anne Laure is a super friendly owner who knows everything about the island and is glad to provide recommendations. She's dedicated to assure a great experience for everyone and a nice vibe in the hostel, it feels more like staying with friends than in a hostel. It's also a great place for people that are not fluent in French (like me :D).
Last but not least: There's a cool map in the dining room showing the main sights and secret places. A handy tool for first-time explorers.

The staff is amazing, really nice and attentive. The setting is amazing, I can’t recommend it enough. Met a lot of great people there, and by the end I wanted to stay more. The included breakfast is great. The rooms are clean. Loved to stay! Cannot recommend it enough :)
