City Gate Hotel

The Gate hotel is very nice hotel with the best Food and drinks especially the rooms were to the point. I would recommend anyone to try this place and confirm.

This hotel is amazing! Great atmosphere, elegant, and nice facilities like indoor swimming pool, gym and spa. Friendly staff and welcoming. Convenient and accessable for transportation if you want to tour around the city. Highly recommended for travellers who wants to stay in the hotel located in the heart of Doha.

Very difficult to rate this hotel. I chose it as was close to the Metro for easy access to the Lusail track. For this it was good.
We arrived to find that the hotel had been taken over (1 month ago) and none of the bookings had been transferred (via booking. Com) to the new owners. As a result they had no idea we were arriving, what rooms we had booked and how much we would be charged. We showed them our email booking and they found us two double rooms — we had booked a twin and a suite — and we used these for the first night. The staff were fairly indifferent (obviously stressed) but one man took control and was excellent trying all he could to sort the situation. Later the following day we got the rooms that were booked.
Due to the takeover, there were no facilities at the hotel whatsoever. No food, no drink. We had to go elsewhere for this.
When we got the rooms we required they were comfortable and the suite was very roomy.
Everything was a little grubby (things like shower doors had fingerprints on them and probably weren't fully cleaned) but overall after the initial problems and finding food elsewhere it was overall a good stay.
The cost of the hotel was good (we stayed on the Formula 1 weekend so everywhere was much more expensive than this hotel), the location was good for access to the metro but there really is very little around the area that you would want to visit. It is a 20 minute walk to Souq Waqif.

We booked the hotel 2 days before reservation via booking. Com.
We texted them few times if we can check in earlier.
When we arrived guy on reception said that checkin is 3pm and we can go to other hotel if we dont like it.
We waited.
Then they said to us after 2 hours that they have overbooking because booking. Com offered non existing rooms. Why nobody notified us earlier? We had to leave and find something else on our own.
Total mess and worst experience in long time. Avoid this place and dont support them with your money.

This hotel is completely shit. If you coming to Doha don't ever ever think to stay here. First of all. Bed not comfortable and air-conditioning not cooling only normal air coming out. The worst thing you will experience the toilet is flooding and water will reach out to the room.
No people in the reception and if there is will be only 1 person handling many guests.
If you want to enjoy Doha. Don't ever stay here.

Near to metro station.
Didn't tried their food so no comment on it.

We booked this hotel for very low price and we didn't expect that this is the worst hotel in Doha. Poor hygiene, worst ambiance the reception is hot and no Ac. They do have Ac and it is not working well only Fan😡. The TV doesn't have remote, no towel for bath😡. The bed is not soft, the staff is not responding correctly. This is the worst hotel i've ever seen😡😡😡

Attended an event at City Gate Hotel Doha and had the chance to experience their services. The staff was courteous and professional, maintaining a welcoming yet business-appropriate atmosphere. The ambiance was elegant and well-suited for both corporate functions and personal gatherings. The food quality exceeded expectations with rich flavors and well-presented dishes. Some areas felt a bit compact, but overall the experience was impressive. Definitely a good choice whether you’re planning a family stay or hosting a business event.

First of all congrats the management coz you having extraordinary in addition well trained staffs. I would like to say the hotel with 4 stars category however by the service it’s 5 stars.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in my life.
Poor hygiene.
Bad staff and management.
But the reason I am writing this review is the following.
I have already renewed my monthly stay and payed for the full month in advance and as I was coming in the third night they ask me to pay extra because they have changed the rates (after I have already payed them)
And its 10 pm and I cant leave at this time so I payed for 1 extra night and left the second day.
Worst management.
Worst food.
Worst rooms.
Do not recommend whatsoever.

Had a wonderful stay at the CGH! The staff was kind and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The room was spotless, cozy, and the bed was comfortable. Everything was well-maintained, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely stay again!

Stayed for one night during an extend layover. Chose this hotel because it was easy access to the airport and close to a metro station. The subway is great and easy to use. Hotel is about 300 meters from a station.
The staff is friendly, unlike the immigration official at the airport. ;). I gave this hotel a three rating because the room we had been assigned smelled like smoke. We actually saw ashes on the floor in front of the window. I called down to the front desk to ask if they had any non-smoking rooms. They said no. We later found out that the floor we were on was designated as non-smoking. If that's the case not sure why our room had been smoked in. The rooms are dated and I would suggest that the carpets get a good cleaning. Otherwise the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
