The location is beautiful
No reception, we called her to ask where to go, she texted that she was busy and the key was in the door. The screendoor was broken and she told us it would be fixed the next morning. It wasn't fixed, we saw her lots of times at the property but she never came. There are no cleaning supplies except a dirty sponge and there is no continental breakfast! It's all very basic, the hot tub is dirty. We stayed in better houses for less money.
There are a lot of stray cats on the property, the first day we asked her if we could help (i'm a vet tech) she didn't respond, after the second time she said it was not her problem. We asked the local shelter for help and they were more than willing to help. 4 cats had been caught and neutered, one was in very bad shape and got the medical care it desperately needed.
The shelter has been at Baco's before to take cats and kitten's. The cost for the neutering and medical care is coming from the shelter that doesn't have the money and it's not fair cause it's not their property.
The owner doesn't want to contribute in the cost. If the strays are not neutered the problem stays. The owner is not a nice personen and not willing to find a solution to the problem. I read in serveral reviews that she is not nice and that's true! She is taking advantage of the shelter and I would't be suprised that she would harm the cats. She only cares about money.
We stayed here for five nights and it was simply wonderful. The place it beautiful, with amazing views in the morning and the evenings. There are only three houses and the restaurant, so you feel you are all alone. The hosts are the best, always helpful and super friendly. It is also perfectly located to discover the entire island of Pico. Definitely recommend staying here.
Great atmosphere with view on mountain pico and vineyards. Dinner was amazing, right from the BBQ. Vanessa and her husband are great, super friendly hosts. Will definitely come back again!
