This place is amazing we came here for hour 20th wedding anniversary. I recently found out I have back problems some issues with degenerative discs pain is a constant, arrived at the hotel in pain ad an appointment with the doctor at the thermal spa I was recommended for 3 days treatment at the spa guess what 2 treatments and the pain is gone, recommended without a doubt, the staff are very competent friendly and very professional, I didn't mention a single time it was hour 20th anniversary to be honest not needed they really know how to make you feel special. Thank you for this very special days. Will definitely return.

The service is attentive but our bedroom was cramped and simply not worth what was charged. (The smallest room we've experienced in our 3 week trip around Portugal). The classical dining salon is gorgeous but alas, there were no vegan options on the menu and we found the food, service and prices somewhat pretentious. Breakfast was outstanding.

The hotel from the outside and inside is just gorgeous, the staff is very friendly, we like it, I remember that from the positive as it was really warm and friendly.

Paradise on earth. Magical inside and out. Friendly, professional staff and a great spa. The perfect place to rest and recharge your batteries.

It is a luxury hotel that does honor to its category. From the moment of arrival it is noted that all the staff are prepared to serve the customer in a personalized way. It has a free spa for guests and bicycles to explore the huge expanse (about 100 hectares). Golf lovers can enjoy the Beautiful. The food and breakfast buffet are spectacular. I did not find it expensive considering the services Provided.

This is a fairytale place. The common places are wonderful, look like a royal place. The rooms are superb. The staff is above expectations. The food is awesome, breakfast and restaurant. The massage is the best and they have a couples suites with hydrobath that was surreal. It was probably a one time experience because it is expensive but if you can afford it, it's totally worth it!

Poor reception at the hotel concierge… For me was enough… I was interested to visit and taste the the famous water, but the security at the door was terribly rude and even suggested me to buy a bottle of water in a street bar… Better go to Pedras Salgadas.

This Hotel I'm sure inside is beautiful, some time ago allowed your visit but now you can not, just outside but worth a visit just for how well taken care of this and its hot springs, I love it.

Awesome place with awesome staff. It was a marvelous time.

A true gourmet experience. The memory of this meal will forever be burned in my memory. The wine selection is exceptional. The little touches abound. Friendly and attentive staff (not not bothersome), fresh Orchids at the table, three different gourmet olive oils to try with your bread. The apps that they comped me were extraordinary, I can't even describe them. The soup had so many subtle and complimentary flavors that I thought I was trying a different soup with ever spoonful. I played it safe with the main course, and ordered octopus and it was cooked perfectly, as where the accompanying greens. The atmosphere of this place is nothing shy of luxury, I almost thought that I should have worn a tux for this meal.

This is a beautiful Hotel in a Quiet Location set amongst stunning Mountains and a Challenging Golf Course.

Fabulous spa treatments staff friendly and very helpful. Would love a coffee/ tea machine in room. Rooms beautifully decorated hotel stunning.

The Palace Hotel was wonderful in every way. It was very luxurious, Beautiful staircase and dining room. The only fault was we had to wait from 7.30 — 9pm for our starter. We dined in Wine cellar the next evening, which was excellent. Iwould definitely return again.

The room and location are perfect. The reason I rate 3 stars is because of the way we were treated due to our appearance at the dinner salon. We were told the dress code was casual chick. My wife was wearing designer shorts and high end designer sneakers. She was told to change her attire witch she rufused. All the while, the nasty man kept looking at my big tattoos and long hair… This is the 21st century… Hello? I'm a fashion designer, and have benn so for the last 27 years infact, and to discuss a dress code with a head waiter is just a waste of time… It is shameful to be discriminated like this. This is a high end hotel, where the cheapest room costs more then half the minimum wage in Portugal… It's funny how our gold credit card was not discriminated…

Just to admire the magnificent building of the hotel and its impressive surroundings with the annexed buildings, gardens, side, golf course … it is worth visiting.
It makes you feel another time.

This was our second visit to the Vidago and it didn't disappoint. Golf course challenging, staff exceptional and pool and spa amazing. Such a lovely place to stay we will come back.

Just returned from a wonderful long weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our room was just a standard classic but well proportioned with a lovely view over the fountain entrance. A complimentary bottle of wine, Molton Brown toiletries and fabulous staff for whom nothing was too much trouble made this a very special break and we cannot wait to return to Virago Palace again. Thank you, we'll be back!

It is an amazing site… a hotel how few… a luxury from another era with an exquisite rehabilitation. And the staff discreet and ready to assist you in whatever you need.

One of the best hotels not on the continent but in the world, where you have to go at least once. Prices are affordable but not prohibitive.

Currently Vidago is a centre of tourism in the rural, ideal for couples or those who enjoy peace and quiet. In addition it has a 9 hole golf field, the only in the region of Trás-os-Montes.
Luxurious, and with a decadent point located between hills and forests, Vidago is an excellent choice for a romantic weekend unforgettable.

Great, great food, excellent service, is a place that swimming should be losing.
