Beautiful property and setting. Perched up high in Gaia facing the charming small city of Porto. Staff incredible, all knowledgeable, gracious, polite and helpful. We have traveled extensively but would rate this property st the very top. Great experience.

We came in a terrace to have a drink at sunset. Excellent service, very high quality, personal very nice and professional. The prices are very reasonable. Recommended.

We went for sunset drinks. The views are very good but not that great. Service was very slow… We asked for a gin&tonic and a cocktail and they took more than half an hour to serve it. Plus the gin & tonic was very simple: no lemon, no black pepper… and the cocktail was ridiculously small. Also they didn't bring any coasters, nor snacks. For the price you pay they should look at theses details… The idea was having dinner too but we left.

We've got party there (only). The food was amazing, staff so friendly, and I cannot imagine better place for such kind of event. It was perfect evening.

A beautiful hotel with amazing views! After a little disappointing start on our stay (I had used a lot of time in advance to communicate with the management to be sure that there was a bottle of sparkling wine and some fruits at our room at arrival as a surprise for my wife – and they did not manage it at all…) I have to admit that this is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever visiting. Take a look at my attached photos and you will understand! Our beautiful and spacious room (no 720) had a large outdoor private terrace and spectacular panoramic view towards Porto across the river. Very comfortable beds and spotlessly clean! The bath looks onto the bedroom, with a louvre shutter divide that can be opened or closed with a separate toilet and stand-alone shower. The shower is small, and the positioning of the door makes it a little difficult. The products are good quality and what you would expect for a high-class hotel like this. The restaurant terrace is lovely for a drink and the pool was perfect for sunning, although it was cold to swim when we were there. The indoor infinity swimming pool had marvellous views over Porto and this view as you swim on an evening is something that I will remember for ever. The breakfast was amazing with a very nice buffet selection (see my attached photos! ) and supplemented with a menu for additional hot dishes. The wait staff were always checking and taking care of our needs.

The gastronomic menu was wonderful. Everything was delicious. Excellent service. Beautiful view from almost all the tables. The best is to be in front of a table in front of a window.
Only small downside: we think we have been booking in overbooking (reservation made a few days in advance only) ; Indeed the table on which one was installed at the beginning was like "added" to the entrance of the restaurant in the passage, completely away and without any view; When we arrived, the first words of the Maitre d'hôtel by installing us at the table were that we could change the table… in the course of the menu: this proposal being at least unusual for a restaurant of this standing, and the staff being in small care with us, this is where we guessed that our reservation had to be a mistake and that they tried to solve this overbooking at best. In the middle of meals, we were reinstalled
at a table facing a window, with breathtaking views. It seems to us that we have been upgraded to the 8-course menu for the price of the 6-course menu.
Because of this little downside, rated 4 for us mingled if the restaurant deserves 5 because there is nothing to say about the kitchen and service that were at the top. Just think of writing well in advance that we want a table first or second row facing the view (possible only if you come as a couple).

Awesome experience… With excellent, fresh food made to suit each diner's individual palate. The ambience is very good, with attention to detail and the superb view adds to the charm. Everything about it is superlative and that is not an exaggeration. It merely justifies the multiple michelin stars the place has earned year after year. Chef Ricardo Costa is a very unassuming man, with a very clean and well run kitchen. This place is to be experienced and enjoyed as a destination…

Great hotel over the rooftops of the new town with a fascinating view of the Douro and the city of Porto, which is on the other side of the bridge. Nice rooms with private terrace. The spa and pools are great. Gym is good. Breakfast is sensational. Restaurant is awarded 2 Michelin stars.
The only small shortcomings are the extremely long distances in the hotel, the lack of coffee maker in the room and the extremely high room rates for Porto.
Definitely worth the trip. Great hotel in great city.

The reviews for the Yeatman cannot even start to do justice to show how wonderful it is here. We booked the group spa package for a hen party and it could not be faulted — the staff, the service, the facilities, the treatments and the lunch were fantastic! They really made our day.

Lovely hotel, except for the smoking in one of the most amazing rooms. Cant believe it’s allowed in this day and age. If guests want to smoke they should go outside, irrespective of who they are. Tough luck. And to subject guests to smoke wafting down the corridors, well unacceptable, and spoilt what could have been a perfect setting! Its 2018 people and selfish people who smoke should do it outside for goodness sakes!

I only went to have a coffee at the restaurant to see the astonishing views that the hotel has at night of the city Oporto.

The location is excellent, the views of the Douro River and the city of Porto are spectacular. The service is awesome, super nice and friendly. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was very nice. It is ideal to rest and visit Oporto for its wine and gastronomy. If you are going sightseeing walk better look for another hotel across from L River in the historic center. This is ideal to see the wineries, and eat in conditions, relax in your garden and pool.

If I didn t had a great house at Virgin Hill and need to choose a hotel to stay, I would prefer te Yeatman.

I'm just going to talk about the spa. At the hotel I have not stayed.
The spa has disappointed me. I expected from a place with so much luxury… a luxury spa and not a simple swimming pools with sauna and Turkish bath. The Roman therm… where it was supposed to have a slight and cosquilleantes bubbles… did not have them, nor lights. I'm still waiting for some disclupas or some sort of compensation.
Where are the pressurized water circuits… the waterfalls… and the whirlpool?
I certainly, when I talk about spa… that's what comes to mind "the Jets. "
Next to the Turkish bath there is a vertical cabin which is a míni 3-phase circuit. Before you enter you have to choose the program. Energizing, relaxing or refreshing. I've tried the 3 and they're exactly the same "a scam. " Its duration is very short and as is often said… "They have neither chicha nor lemonade. "
We have been my friend and I alone all the afternoon… do you think that it is necessary to continually check the baskets of dirty towels? I've been constantly monitored.
Oh! and stairs up and down stairs. It's not all on the same floor. Still in a bathrobe… as I was wet… I had a cold.
In short… I was very disappointed.

Expensive, pompous, overly ornate. But the service is impeccable in the way you only find in a hotel of this caliber and the views at the bar are absolutely unparalleled! Watch out for the seagulls, though-they're brazen and won't hesitate before snatching your beer snacks!

Very good hotel even though I had a mishap with them for a payment issue of the reservation. In any case, it's worth what it costs. Amazing views, perhaps the best in Oporto, being opposite. Ojo, is in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the bridge, not in Oporto. But almost better: out of the hustle and better views.

I will not talk about the Hotel as we did not stay in it, the prices outweigh our possibilities.
But as far as the views there are of all Porto from your fantastic terrace you will be left speechless. Maravilhoso!
That is! Watch out for seagulls, they'll be stalking your tea cookies as soon as you get off the guard!

Very exclusive and well-groomed 5 * hotel on the hillside above the port and wine manufactures. It pleased and very good, large bright rooms with huge terrace overlooking the opposite old town.

Very poor experience. We had high expectations based on internet. Service is very slow, white wine was warm. We were offered other suggestion but this never arrived. French fries were served after we had completed the rest of the meal. We we complained at paying the bill there was only a simple sorry!

I had the tasting menu and also the wine tasting to accompany the food. I was somewhat skeptical, but it was absolutely amazing. Food was fantastic, service was perfect and the wine was delightful. Overall, a wonderful experience that I'd recommend to anyone who is willing to pay for it. Prices are insanely high, the highest I've seen, but it is worth it. The view is also intoxicating. Note that despite the small portions, it'll satiate your appetite.

Beautiful restaurant with beautiful views. That's the end of the wow factor with this disappointing 2 star experience. We all enjoyed the service and the evening but. And it's a big but. We were all scratching our heads as to why it has 2 stars. Nothing really pushed the boundaries apart from the pre dinner surprises which were all great. You have options of 3 tasting menus. One which has chefs surprise from the extensive tasting menu. The squid was especially bad. My quail was returned to the kitchen undercooked. When your paying close to a €1000 for dinner you expect amazing! So you get a very critical but honest review.

Here you can find the best view of Porto. You don't need to spent that much money, just park the car and ask for a cup of wine.

The best food, wine and service I've experienced ever! Truly outstanding. Travelling throughout the world I have been lucky to have experienced many fine dining experiences and stayed in some of the most luxurious hotels. This beats them all and the service is so effortlessly perfect you really feel like you are the most important guest in the hotel. The views are amazing and the hotel rooms all look out to the beautiful old town and the Douro valley. If you come to Porto then you have to stay here for a wholly memorable experience of everything porto has to offer. A huge thank you to all the fantastic team at The Yeatman!

The service is perfect very nice with a real effort in french to understand the intricacies of the dish served. Several menus options ranging from four dishes at 12, obviously in form of small portions, not to mention surprises such as known as Butler very tuned to dislikes that could have. A beautiful card of wines served by the glass (option 50) or in a bottle with the help of a sommelier who knows his job. Of course the Bill is more salty than sweet but nothing more. A good experience.

Culinary experience from another world! We went to the restaurant Yeatman within the hotel. The tasting menu is amazing, we ate more than 14 dishes, each one better than the previous one. The views of Porto from the terrace of the hotel in the evening are not to be missed!

Visit the rooftop bar lounge to see one of the most panoramic views of the river overlooking the Ribeira. The unique cocktail selection is endless, albeit pricey. A lovely sophisticated and regal environment to enjoy a quiet and relaxing break from being a tourist.

This hotel is incredible. The staff is simply amazing. They we above and beyond every expectation. My 8 year old had a birthday while we were staying there. They made him feel like the king of a castle. He cried when we checked out! The rooms are spacious, clean and the views are breathtaking. The pools are lovely. The food is some of the best I have ever eaten. I would recommend this 1000 times.

The hotel is very nice but it's lack of a contemporary touch.

The very best thing about The Yeatman is the view you get of Porto across the from your room and terrace — — I think every room has one. Otherwise, the hotel does not live up to what I expected and is only above average in its restaurant and service. The rooms are a nice size, but aren't all that "traveler friendly" — — e. G. No drawers to store your clothes. I thought the Michelin starred restaurant was very disappointing and chose to eat in local restaurants riverside for Portuguese cuisine. The walk from my room to the elevators was the length of 3 football fields. The gardens are lovely and the pool very nice, but the gym was disappointing. I didn't take advantage of the spa facilities. The staff was friendly, but clearly a training staff, both very young and inexperienced.

This review is for the restaurant, not the hotel. We had the menu. The service was nice and the food was good, but nothing exceptional. Overall it didn't impress me.

In presentation and quality, the best hotel in "Porto" and may be the best restaurant. It is a modern Palace on top of Gaia, rooms with luxury facilities, and without a doubt the best views of the city. All an oasis amidst the chaos. With its magnificent terrace restaurant tasting menus and a more affordable menu at lunch time on Sunday, with a tremendous quality. The following is better service and presentation. More nice Oporto meal.
