Reviews of WOT Lisbon Patio
I was there for 2 weeks. We were charged of 400 euros because my students were noisy during the first week. Then 2 days after our departure, HUB Hostel STOLE ME by CHARGING the credit card I gave for the deposit of 240 euros more without informing and asking for the agreement. They told me it was two noisy during Friday night and took 240 euros for that when we went back home to France on my credit card without asking for that. I am a European project manager. I help schools all over Europe to implement ERASMUS + program. I am used to booking Beds in Youth Hostels. That is the first time I have such an experience and that a company use my credit card numbers to realize payment in its interest without asking! Awful and abject! I don't recommend groups to come.
I arrived a day early to Lisboa and my other reservation wasn't available until the next day. I must admit I wasn't excited to book at ANY hostel (reviews for hostels are all over the place) I thought someone may steal my personal items, party all night and over my head or there were bed bugs and it would ruin my trip. I couldn't have been more wrong! This place was great! It was clean, the people at the front desk were very nice and offered to recommend spots for me to go. I chose a dorm-style room with a total of 8 beds and picked a bottom-bunk; it had a little curtain you could close so it was private. They have little cubbies that you can put your valuables in (you can bring your own lock, or rent one from them) so my most important items were safe. I think that there may have been 5 of us (women) in the room of all age ranges and backgrounds. They were all friendly and fairly considerate of the space and noise. They do enforce a 10PM sound curfew, which was also good. I am a single woman traveler in my mid-40s and I would do this again. I felt safe, I was able to sleep pretty good, take a nice hot shower in the morning and be on my way. They also offered free breakfast and little excursions and outings you could participate in, but I didn't do any of those so I cannot offer any opinions. I absolutely would do this again, not for anything long-term (at least for me) but I now have a more positive view of hostels and would consider another again in my future travels.
