Staff is amazing and the place is very modern and clean. The location is alright, you need to walk a good 15-25 min to get to the "real downtown". Breakfast was ok.

Very warm welcome, the receptionist polite, respectful. Room spotless, when we put our sign on door to "make the room" the room was tidy and clean without touching any of our business! The receptionist explained on a map as detailed as lisbon that has been kept in our possession all the monuments, museums, local eats and beautiful places to discover. They are doing really well in French, I tried to spoke English, but he was miserable. A shuttle bus was put at our disposal for returning to the airport during our departure for home. A security guard stands at the entrance during the night, ensuring our "security" for the cigarette that was smoked on the terrace. The lunch american, especially the eggs scrambled was really good! Top.

An amazing place the staff were very comforting and helpful was clean. Breakfast was good.

Close to the city hotel, easy access to public transport. Room quite small, little space to store clothes, bathroom with large shower. Our room had only a small window to the street to tilt. Traffic was very noisy. Nice staff.

The breakfast coffee is really not good, otherwise the rest is OK overall.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great Hotel. Well located, you reach the center easily as the Metro stop is three minutes but wanting with fifteen minutes you reach the center on foot. The staff is composed of guys very polite, kind and available to listen to. The rooms are modern bright and clean comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is extremely varied and very delicious. Recommended.

Wonderful hotel and staff. It just wasn't our favorite part of Lisbon.

Very good location. Very warm place.
Staff very serious and available. They answer your questions easily by adapting to our language. Offer to call you a taxi at your departure. Ask you regularly if you do not miss anything.
Clean rooms. Sheets are changed every day. Same for towels.
The hotel restaurant is top with a very nice service. We ate very well with a price more than correct considering the quality!
As for breakfast. There is everything and for all tastes.

4-Star Hotel in middle-central area with proximity to the metro. Normal rooms with great breakfast! Very clean and friendly staff.

Very clean hotel. Tasteful restoration. Friendly Service. Ideally placed in town although a bit noisy due to traffic.

I will not recommend this hotel.
To start with we are clearly not in the benefits of a 4 *. We're at a 3 * level.
The photos hallechantes on Booking are probably from another time. The hotel has very very bad ageing (carpet stained, full of cracks in the marble of the bathroom, bathroom furniture piqued by humidity…). The shower faucet was leaking. The bed is of very poor quality, you can feel the springs.
The air conditioning/heating of the room works very poorly and makes a lot of noise.
Narrow room with little storage which difficulties the movements in the room with two, with view on "favelas"…
The only good thing is the location of the hotel. It is close to the city centre (2/3 Metro stop) and the hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Metro. However the neighborhood is not top of the night drug trafficking and virulent SDF who do not hesitate to follow you (hence the presence of policeman in the street and a vigil in the lobby of the hotel even quite early in the evening) more shortly after the reservation the hotel No US has announced work up to 12/02 at level 0. As of 18/02 the hotel is still under construction.
Results breakfast au — 1 in an uninviting room. Breakfast level it's very mediocre. It's even better at the Ibis. Here no local products. Industrial orange juice. Supplement of €2 for espresso (Are we in a 4 star? ). Very limited product choice. The staff in the room is on the ground.

The week we went it was under renovation and we ate andcena in a small room and That Didn't like anything else all well.

There are three stars, for the price OK, in Germany you would get this hotel for about €50 the night.

Very nice Hotel. Comfortable, clean, close to the metro and the city centre and historic monuments. Friendly staff I recommend it for a 4 day tour.

Hotel located in the centre of Lisbon… You have for Metro, bus and tram about 5 min walk. The hotel is very nice, the food although the menu for dinner is always the same exquisite and the staff is very attentive and friendly. The only problem is that this in the main avenue and close you have a police station and hospital and every time (no matter the time) passes both police and ambulance with the sirens on and it is impossible to reconcile the sleep.

The room was very aunqun, the breakfast was very nice and the rooms were very comfortable. Well located, with access to Metro to 50m from the hotel, pharmacy and trade next door.

Good location quiet in General, except when passing the ambulances… road to one of the Lisbon hospitals… Great breakfast but the PERCo coffee is frankly horrible and from another time… Damage…

Hello having stayed in this hotel 3 night I recommend this hotel is a couple of steps from the Metro and other means of transport close to the city center and seaside the reception is impeccable and the staff very professional smiling and has the listening of the clientele the room are spacious and nice I let you discover it by yourself you wouldn't be disappointed.

On November 6, 2017 I had just. The started my vacation and experienced a tear in my tendons that made walking impossible. I was able to get a room at the Czar Lisbon for four nights until I could get a flight back to Canada. The hotel was beyond wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable, the restaurant was good with a very accommodating chef (they modified meals if requested) and they even had lovely entertainment in the lounge on Wednesday evening. The best thing about the hotel was the amazing, kind, helpful, cheerful and wonderful staff. I could not have been in a better place to experience such a miserable end to my vacation. They are all fabulous and I would recommend the property to anyone travelling to Lisbon. Jennifer.

Nice city hotel with friendly staff, close to the center. Clean, rather smaller rooms and stylish restaurant. Good breakfast. Metro station in the immediate vicinity.

Breakfast was very cool, rooms are super clean and service is great. People working here are really nice. 20min walk to centre. Good place.

Czar Lisbon Hotel is a nice place to stay. The rooms are clean. The personell is kind. The breakfast gives you a suitable range of foods. The surrounding area is ok. A lot of supermerkados but also many poor people.

Avoid! *** Not a nice location. Very nasty breakfast. Didn't even go down for after the first day. Loud drilling woke us up early in the morning. Went out for the whole day and the room didn't get made. Rang lobby to ask what could be done. Absolutely nothing. The next day they came early in the morning but we were checking out. Room didn't look like the picture as the carpet looked cheap like one you find in an office not like it did on the website. Explained all this to reception in the hope they would at least waiver my parking. Nope. Just for the record I never normally write reviews let alone bad ones but this place was just terrible.

Convenient location as; metro, bus stop, tram stop, currency, supermarket, snack bars are all short walk away. If you fancy a decent long walk to city centre this is perfect as you can pass through a variety of areas and discover some amazing places in return. Hotel itself has all the immediate facilities such as parking (10EUR p/n), bar and restaurant. Though I would stay at Hotel again, I wouldn't however go for either half or full board — bed and breakfast is enough as menu choose for the HB or FB is not really good and very limiting. Plus you don't want to feel obliged to come back to Hotel for dinner or lunch for such a poor menu choice and would rather feel content eating some great food outside. Hotel has luggage storage facility which is great and staff can advise on local excursions, vehicle hire as well as taxi bookings. Staff are very friendly and rooms are cleaned everyday — although one thing I found very annoying is that if we were to take items in our rooms from breakfast or dinner such as bowl of fruit, jelly, dessert or hot beverage, the plates and crockery would continue to remain in your bedroom. TV choice is okay nothing great but we never watched TV. Though the bathroom was great, and we had a walk in rainfall shower, the shower itself kept overflowing and it was clear that it's maintenance was poor. So I had to remove the top circular lid and ensure the water is drained faster so that you are not standing in your own dirty water.

Close to the center and easily accessible by metro. Modern. Friendly staff. Traffic from the traffic lot very loud when the window is open. Temperature at night only bearable with running air conditioning. Wi-Fi works very well. No German TV channels.

It's a nice hotel, I would recommend it, the staff was really useful the locations is great, you are 100 metros from the subway stations. The room is quite cozy and the decorations pretty contemporary. The rates are fair in the low season you can find from 60 Europe, just to mention that Although the lobby seems really luxury, I have been in better 4-stsr hotel, plus the size of the rooms is a bit small.

Price performance is ok as we only save to sleep, shower and have breakfast for 1 week there.

Well at first I was not very sure about this choice but… it's a nice hotel to spend your vacation. Staff is very nice and hospitable, hotel' rooms clean and comofortable. The only thing I didn't appreciate is cooking, but hey, I'm Italian, what you pretend? E. Ferrara.

I initially wondered what made Tsar a 4-star hotel and they said to me, the accommodations. Upon arrival, I knew that was a joke. The rooms (I say rooms because I asked to switch) are extremely tiny and extremely dirty. My carpet had numerous stains throughout, tears, etc. And I had to request my bathroom be cleaned when I got there die to clumps of hair in my shower. This all after I moved rooms to this "bigger space, " which was also a box with a terrible mattress with lumps and no give, not conformable at all. I felt claustrophobic and wanted to spend as little time in there as I could. If you are a young female traveling alone or even alone for just a moment and stay there, as soon as you take a few steps outside you will be harassed by many homeless people and their dogs or just groups of men loitering. I didn't feel safe at all in this neighborhood. If you plan to take public transportation, which is close, just come back before dark or bring extra money for cab fare costs, which I spent a ton on. The food at breakfast was no better, I attempted to eat there but the mediocre ingredients and options weren't worth it and had me headed for the bathroom as well as options outside of the “restaurant”. What frustrates me the most about this place is the seemingly false previous reviews or people with low standards and the fact that their accommodations were NOTHING like their website and I ended up leaving and switching hotels as a result.

They are honestly not a four star hotel. The room feels like prison. The food at breakfast was horrible. Yes they did screw me on a refund that they promised to give me while I was there but when I got back to the states they said no. But the reason I even wanted one was because the accommodations were NOTHING like their website and I ended up leaving and switching hotels as a result and now I am out $800! … and the neighborhood is very unsafe. I ended up staying at the Vintage Hotel with WAYYYY BETTER rooms and surroundings. Honestly, there are nicer places to go that are inexpensive.

The rooms are small, everything else is excellent, restaurant is excellent grilled octopus.

Overall MEDIOCRE since its apparent good price/quality ratio comes from low quality service, resturant using low quality or unedible ingredients, employees who never know if or when will receive their low wages, if they complain they get threatened specially illegal employees. Disrespect for Labour Portuguese Laws in general.

For a 3-star hotel, its impressive. Room is small but clean especially toilets. Beds are comfortable — I slept well.
