Just wow! This was the best and most unique hotel we ever stayed at. It’s located in a beautiful castle and offers amazing views. The rooms are clean and breakfast is excellent (includes Champagne, fresh juices and good coffee). Highly recommend this hotel!

We visited a number of Pousadas. This one is especially nice because of its location on top of the mountain with beautiful views. Friendly staff though.

This place is simply amazing. It's located on a very rich historical zone with lot's to learn. The "Pousada" is very nice, the staff members are very polite. The food is good, and it's a very peaceful place.

He needs a remodel. Lights, bathrooms… Not everything is to make box.

Some of the site was closed for building work but it's worth a visit regardless. Stunning views too.

Spectacular view, beautiful structure but excessive wind!

Parking is quite confusing, because everyone stands anywhere. Walking up to the castle itself is very dangerous because cars are allowed to drive up to the part of the castle which now is a hotel (parking there is a mess as well). Descriptions at the castle are poor. Tourism office is a construction site and everything is dirty. No one cares for this historic site except of people making business (hotel, bar, sales). The electrics are built directly into historic walls etc. I never was at a castle like this, especially when it's the main tourist spot in the town. Not worth leaving Lisboa.

Impressive history but modern additions and renovations look inappropriate and spoil ambiance.

Historical and beautiful castle with a lovely 3 60° view to Lisbon, Setúbal and Palmela village. Surrounded by nature certainly deserves your visit.

Typical medieval castle very well fortified and preserved as an authentic historical heritage, available to the community. Worth a visit of about 3 hours.

Unrivalled views over the estuaries of Sado and Tajo.

Beautiful place but very disappointed by the behavior of the staff. Forgetting a guide in our room and despite several telephone contacts and even a mail. No return. Pity to stay on this bad impression

The first Pousada in Portugal we stayed in.
It is located in an old Castelo on a mountain above the city, the view and location are therefore very picturesque.
The room was very nice, like on an old castle with a bench under the windows and a beautiful VIEW.
There was: LCD TV minibar safe internet via network connection (the Wi-fi was only available in the lobby but free of charge) air conditioning (which could not cool down properly, so 24 degrees were it anyway) the bathroom was not quite as modern, with BD and bathtub set up.
It was noticeable that there were a lot of small flies around the castle, which were also in the room everywhere, especially on the Windows.
Luckily they were not noisy, but it was a bit annoying.
Breakfast was good, there was: scrambled bacon various sausages and cheese jams cereals very tasty fresh fruit yogurt Coffee & Tea specialities, as well as cocoa all in all a nice stay.
