Casa Volta do Mar

We're a couple who stayed two months and a half in Casa Volta do Mar from November 24 to January 25, it was a delight.
We work remotely and the place allows easily that with high internet speed and good working conditions.
The place is very nicely furnished, every appliance or object is slightly better than the average. It creates a welcoming atmosphere inside the house.
There's a great book collection for anyone into sea tales, history of the azores or adventure in general.
For the colder nights we were lighting up a fire in the salamander to heat up the whole house. The shower can also go very hot and there are multiple cosy blankets to keep you warm during the mild Azorean winter.
The location is pure gold. On one side you walk and take a swim at praia de porto pim, enjoy the atmosphere of a small coastal village and visit the café/padaria. On the other side you can go enjoy all the commodities of "the city".
It's easy to be car-less during week days and rent a car for the weekend only.
Beautiful sunsets views are to be expected from the house.
Filipa, the property manager, is a very nice and communicative person. She was very helpful with us 🙏
A great experience overall, I can only recommend this place to whoever wants to spend some time in Faial and be in Horta :)

This is the most gorgeous private property I’ve ever rented during my travels, and I’ve been using rental marketplaces for decades now. The descriptions, reviews, and images of Casa Volto do Mar don’t do it justice.
Yes, the multi-level patio is truly spectacular and for many it will be the selling point. But just as impressive is the care that was taken to the design and décor of the apartment interior. With a stunning blend of functionality and aesthetic, tremendous attention to detail was exercised to restore what was once a neglected fisherman’s cottage into something straight out of an HGTV remodel.
From a practical standpoint, the space within is plenty for a couple and perhaps even two adult friends traveling together, since the extremely comfortable couch can be used as a separate sleeping area if needed. The kitchen area is quite large and features brand new appliances and a large farmhouse sink. When we arrived, it was already well-stocked with the basics for cooking (seasonings, sugar, olive oil, etc. ) The bathroom is also quite large with plenty of counter space (despite the vessel-style sink) and a “real” hair dryer (not a dinky “travel” one. )
A flat-screen television, games, and books are provided in case of a rainy day. A bluetooth speaker with an impressive quality of sound allowed us to connect music from our phones, and the Wi-Fi in the apartment was strong and reliable, enough to allow for some unfortunate (but necessary) work-related video calling.

Incredible place to stay. Beautiful views of both the harbour and Porto Pim bay. It's on a really lovely, quiet street, but it's right in the middle of everything. Within five minutes there's the best cafe in town, beach and swimming, and the night life of Horta.
The accommodation itself is cozy inside and beautifully decorated. The outdoor garden is stunning with a fire pit at the top that overlooks the entire city. Perfect place to watch the sunset.
