Amazing place! What a wonderful experience…!

Difficult to find but well worth the climb through cobbled, steep and narrow streets. Amazing views await once here. Very helpful and friendly staff.

This is probably the best hotel in town, it's actually "the castle" located at the highest part of the city, and unlike non-hotel guest you do have access to the tallest tower of the castle, so it is worth it and I recommend it.

When we traveled the castle had 8 rooms. A castle of good memories with the family, I love the steep narrow road up with boys in the back seat. Laughter and Oh no's.

An Ancient set of rooms built adjacent to the city walls gives you a special atmosphere as you are living in the 15th or so century. The staff work very hard to give you the filling that you are a nobel personality. The location is perfect. Close to the main way of tourism and yet not in the center of the noise. But pay attention — if you plan arriving with a car. Ask at the entrance how to get to the hotel. You can park literally at the entrance of the hotle, but the way is not obvious. You have to be a good driver to pass the narrow streets. And don't count on waze or any other app. It will only misguide you. Enjoy your stay.

Obidos is a wonderful village to spend a few days in. The Pousada at the top of the village is an ideal place to stay. The rooms are comfortable, the ammenities are excellent, the restaurant is very good but most of all the staff are outstanding. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We loved it.

Yes, it is fun to say I spent the night in a castle. But, otherwise, the high price isn't really justified by the quality of the room and the amenities.

It was full couldn't get there.

The pousada as a whole is spectacular, the premises lovingly prepared! The restaurant with its dishes is also highly recommended! Basically, with such old walls you have to make a few compromises such as clairvoyance in the rooms, but the entire ambience of the pousada generally compensates. The place is very touristy during the day within the castle walls, so if you want to have peace and quiet, you can look at the place alone in the later evening (low season).
Price performance is aligned with local tourism.

Beyond the history of the building and an exquisite kitchen big mistake of choice: complicated access, lack of secure parking for a rental car, room with only opening the entrance door overlooking a courtyard open to all VAS and come from curious tourists so curtains shadoating constantly drawn! Given the price paid it is disappointing. But it's up to you to make your own opinion.

I loved this place. Very well worh the money. We had a small room but it was ok for 1 night. Views were amazing. Great dinner. Service impeccable in all the Departments! Breakfast was very good. Great selection ans in a nice room. Lovely place.

What a treat to stay inside a castle! The service was excellent! When we arrive we were warmly greeted and offered something to drink. We were brought up to our room. The luggage was delivered, as they refused to let us take it up. The rooms are small but fine for two people. The restaurant inside the hotel is also great. The service was a cut above and the food delicious. Well worth a stay and the extra money to stay here. One word of caution: the roads are narrow to drive up to the castle. There's some parking near the entrance, just make sure you rent a small car.

The Pousada is amazing, spectacular of Bonita (a beautiful Castle). In the restaurant the food is very good. Maybe something expensive to be Portugal (average person price €50) but it is worth it especially if you want to celebrate something important or just give yourself a treat!
They have the menu for children, very rich and very good price.

At this establishment we only went for dinner, without staying at the hotel. The restaurant is amazing, spectacular of Bonito (a beautiful Castle). Very good food. I was drinking coffee on the terrace. I was amused that I call of the prices before ordering… "So that after I didn't complain"…

The place is beautiful.

It was a very nice experience, the staff of the hotel charming, with a deal of the most friendly, the castle is beautiful, and the breakfast without putting a fault, right. If I have Q put a but, and that if it is a detail to note from the hotel is the bed, quite fairly regular mattress, of the old, very uncomforting, and very small room. With the site very justito.

Wonderful view over the village and in the evening the last bright rays before the sun sets behind the castle battlements. Romantic as sow.
Just do not order the ' sandwiches ', they consist only of bread with discounter cheese.
The worst of their variety I've ever eaten all over the world and the name ' Sandwich ' doesn't grow in the slightest. What a pity.

Beautiful place and if you don't want to fork out for lunch or dinner, then have breakfast buffet for only €12.50 p. P. Be sure to get there early so you can get one of the two tables with a view :) great attentive service! Also, after breakfast go explore along the towers for some great views!

Another gem of pousadas in Portugal, situated in a pittoresque village of Óbidos. The rooms are inside the medieval castle, everyone uniquely different, with small details like local liquor (ginginha) or handmade wool blankets equipped. A very outstanding hotel to stay at — we appreciated very much our stay here. Special thanks to a very attentive and friendly staff!

Having just spent nights in Pousada in Queluz and Palmela this is soooo disappointing. Poky room that costs about 50% more than the other two. Zilch view and outside the castle. What's the benefit?

This used to be in the Michelin Guide. No idea why it isn't now. I've eaten in many MG recommended places that can't hold a candle to this venue. The food is very good, the service is formal but friendly — but the setting is absolutely incredible! You're eating in a medieval hall, with views out across endless olive groves. I can't help wondering how many people have dined here, in this very room, in the past 1000-1500 years! What plots hatched? What allegiances formed? Come desert, my son likes to let everyone else order then he says to the waiter, "Surprise me. " and that's when the waiter remembers him from a year ago (and the year before). What turns up is always well received, not least because it's usually some kind of fruit on fire :-)

Beautiful castle to stay in. We had the tower room which was an incredible experience. Beautiful views of the walled city. Walls that we're climbable and started right inside the hotel area. Incredible restaurant located in the castle.

We took the Rodotejo bus from the Campo Grande stop in Lisbon to Obidos. (Two bus stops, about an hour, and 7.10 Euro for adults) From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly staff that made our visit wonderful. We booked a room in the castle, although the guest house price was a bit less expensive. We loved it! Breakfast was included. There were a lot of options for breakfast, and I enjoyed the best coffee ever. We walked on the castle wall at sunrise, which wa…s great because we were the only ones out on it. It can get busy later in the day, and the wall is narrow and without a reiling. Our photos were outstanding. A slow walk with stops took us about an hour. I would return.

Stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The castle is really cool, the food in the restaurant is fantastic, but can't say enough good things about the service and all the people that work in this Pousada. We've traveled all over and stayed in all types of hotels, this one is by far the best one. Can't beat the quality of the people and the views of the castle along with the history that it has. Highly recommended!

A great place wthin the walls of the city of Óbidos. Dinner was top notch and the dinning room is quite nice with excellent views. Wonderful to stay in an old castle as your hotel. Wonderful, effusively helpful staff. They are the best.

If you are in Obidos, a well preserved ancient walled city, which is worth a day visit or a one night stay over, you must stop over for a drink (beer, coffee, tea, wine — whatever takes your fancy) at the Pousada Castelo cafe and enjoy the hospitality and the view in the sunshine from their garden. After a drink and a break, take a walk along the city wall.
