Hostel Mango Hostel

I don't say this lightly, but this is the worst hostel I've ever stayed in (and I've stayed in some dumps). On the first night of our stay, a group of drunk women were talking loudly in the kitchen until 2 am. Despite the kitchen being adjacent to the 24 hour reception and 23:00 — 6:00 being considered the quiet hours, I had to approach them as ask them to be quiet, rather than the staff member having the cajones to do it themselves. The following night, as 23:30, I was told I couldn't sit in the kitchen despite the fact I was silently eating (I didn't want my falafel wrap to stink out my room). For the next few days, there was noisy construction throughout the day, beginning at 8am and lasting until 7pm. As of tonight, following construction, there is a now a shutter that blocks off the kitchen at 11pm. We received no warning about this. After asking the staff member if I could fill my water bottle and make a cup of tea, he refused. I'm a paying customer, not an inmate in a borstal. I'm paying for the pleasure of dehydration. As for the kitchen itself, it is poorly equipped and only has a very blunt knife (which is of course dangerous), alongside a distinct lack of equipment (no sieve/ colander). There is no policy to wash up your dishes, only to place them in the dishwasher. This means that by the evening, in order to cook you first need to clean other people's dishes. The fridge was completely full, almost entirely of former guests' expired food.

I don't recommend it. I felt safer at Central Station. I went in and out.
