Hotel lobby is outdated very old like 90s, lunch buffet not worth jt,, staff need retraining about hospitality service, taking calls are not allowed, beach very small and dirty, game room 80 percent broken. Stay away!

The place is ok, good facilities but not kid friendly. The staff will even reprimand a 1 yr old baby for crying. What's worse is, they would also reprimand a happy, laughing baby and toddler for being… NOISY. Next time, they should put in their house rules that babies, toddlers, and children are not allowed inside the resort.

We had a wonderful experience here. I booked for December but ST Odette struck Cebu province. As soon as the resort recovered from ST they immediately rebooked us. The staff was exceptional and the service was great. My family will surely come back here and recommend the resort to our colleagues.

This resort is not good for children's happiness, Family will truly pissed off about their stupid policy.

Beautiful water features, great variety of activities like biking, kayaking and archery, very friendly staff, sulit package (free bike rides, archery, kayak, pool and beach use, and food set), and really delicious food set especially the seafood chowder, very tender pork belly and the best mango float. All for only P1, 500, this was awesome. Beach had lots of medium sized, large and different types of colorful tropical fish, I enjoyed this very much! The only suggestion I have is to pleeeease put water stations with paper cups in between pools and another walkway crossing the pool to the beach, as we had to bring our things back and forth the long way around, we also had to walk the long way round the pool just to get water at the Fiji Restaurant. Please do not put urinal and ladies’ toilet and shower all in one space in the 99 Route Stop Cafe and the pool area, and possibly all other restaurants, as it is highly inappropriate for a 4 or 5 star resort, has the most awful smell, it’s the worst complaint I have. 3.5/5 ⭐️ If it weren’t for the smelly washrooms, I’d give a 4/5 ⭐️

My family enjoyed our stay. Everything was exceptional except the restaurant at fiji. They were very slow. No water voluntarily given on the table unless you ask them & took so long to serve it. They also missed one of our order that we had to take it out since we finished eating & the waiter gave us 1 rice when we ordered 7. It was a bad experience. Twice of bad experience was enough so we decided to order our food outside the resort. Other than that we were very happy & satisfied. The staff were very friendly as well. My parents enjoyed the free biking for all guest & my 11 yrs old son enjoyed the the kids activities as well. Overall it was a great experience!

Our family have loved spending 5 days here. The resort has the most beautiful lagoons and our children loved spending long lazy days swimming and playing. The staff go out of their way to help you and nothing is too hard. The only cons were too many mosquitos and a small cocktail list. We will definitely come again. Thank you Plantation Bay.

Being a foreigner I always thought Philippines is the best place for customer service until I had interaction with plantations staff last month.
They Cancelled my reservations because their internet was down and could not share a payments link within 24 hours and when I requested for rebooking asked me to increase my stay to more days if I need a confirmation.

Disgusting and not child-friendly resort.

Doesn’t know how to handle customer complaints. Never going back here again. Place is nice but with such poor customer service, this place is not worth spending time and money on.

A gem hidden in Mactan. The resort itself is amazing. It has the best location, great restaurant, beautiful pools and most relaxing environment. The room is beautiful and elegant with a very large bed. Restroom is with a classy bathtub and shower. If you're looking to get away from your hectic and stressful life, this is the place for you.

Frequent guest here and been here 4 times. I was here last 2014 with my family and went back this May 2019. Now, customer service is totally different. Previous stays were seamless and superb service. On our last stay, had reservation issues prior arrival. We felt that we our scammers because of the creditcard authorisation. During
stay, we ate at Palermo our favourite restaurant but now I despise it simply because they are very sensitive, lack of empathy and understanding t…owards kids. I appreciated all the “pampalibang” items and food provided for my son by the time we arrived. But it is very rude to ask to bring my 3 year-old son outside right after all the ineffective “pampalibang” because its disturbing the other guests. Yes I understand that but isn’t the resort open for Family? Since the resort is open for family, we expect all the restaurants and the staff to be empathetic and understanding when kids make noise and cry. Let them be a kid. Yes you have a children center close to it but I don’t feel secured because nobody is attending the area and the entrance is very accessible from anyone. In addition, they used to have fast room service whenever we request additional amenities. Now, it took forever to arrive. To the top management, I am very sorry but you have a terrible leadership. You don’t know how customer service works because your staff won’t be that way if they have a great leader.

Staff lacks general hospitality and has no empathy towards kids bieng kids. When a hotel informs you to keep the noise down from a bunch of 3-5 years celebrating a birthday there is something wrong. we will stick to Shangrila and Bluewater moving forward.

The resort changed tremendously and it's not a change for the better I am sad to say. Got married here and stayed here 15 years ago. Back then it was everything and more. Service was top notch and the staff were very personable like they really cared about you and would go the extra mile to make you feel special.
Fast forward to 15 years, this time we decided to pay a visit to our beloved place to rekindle memories but sadly, we were disappointed. The service is terrible and… dry. We were at the Galapagos beach, I asked for a life jacket for my 4 year old son, the staff said there's non left for his size so he told me to go to Kilimanjaro pool to get one myself. Talk about self-service. It's not so much that I have to get one by myself but it is the way he spoke that got me taken aback. He was commanding me to get a vest while pointing to which direction. Anyways, back at Kili pool, my son had such a great time he can't contain his excitement, the lifeguard came over and told us to be quiet. Didn't realize that a "family oriented" resort Plantation Bay claims to be does not allow for children to have a good time. Apparently laughing while playing in the fake cave with rain showers is not allowed. Meanwhile, in the other corner were Western and Korean children making boisterous loud noises yet not once were they told to shhh it down. They have so many rules it feels like you are in a military camp than a resort.

Great spot, made even better by purposefully not being oversold.
Reasonable rates for the fantastic experience you get. My kids loved it, snorkelling with a huge shoal of fish in the morning, kayaking in the afternoon with a lot of nice swimming in the extensive lagoon in the meantime.

One of the best resorts I've been so far. They had everything and the staff was very friendly. The prices are decent and the policy of no tipping really stands out. I enjoyed the pools and the food as you could relax and enjoy everything there.

Nice resort. Fantastic breakfasts and friendly staff. Cool set of salt and fresh water pools, and an amazing beach spot with colorful fish that can be seen even before you get into the water. Coordinate travel like cars as early as possible, and I recommend the Asian themed restaurant for dinners.

My wife and I recently spent ten days at this resort. I cannot fault the services provided by the staff. Always friendly, and responded to our requests promptly. Our room led out to one of the manmade pools. What a bonus to just walk into the water and enjoy a morning swim before breakfast. The room reflected the title of the resort, plantation. Very comfortable. I must add that the toilet seats being self lowering is great common sense. My wife is Filipino and her family live in Cebu. We had her family as guests one day and they were well looked after. I would suggest anyone thinking of staying at this resort, please consider booking directly with the resort as there are some really great monetary benefits. It means booking your own flights, but really you can still find bonuses here as well. Book early.

Indeed worthy to be tagged as a five star hotel, from the staff to the amenities. Perfect place for team building or gatherings. Function rooms were very good and all the stuffs needed are provided.

It look wonderful, even in its man made. A family packed activities can be shared by your loved ones as well as for the couples with its magnificient sites. The food are top of its class with plenty of varieties everybody can choose from. What more can you ask for a luxurious stay at the heart of the island Mactan.

It's a very cool place here with pink fish, coffee and a lot of basses and everything in this hotel.

Well kept resort. Beautiful scenery and best service. Pricey but worth the experience. Far from the city but offers everything you need. I love the architecture and all the activities you can do within the area. Good for family and big groups and also for company outing.

What a great place. Cannot say enough about how nice, relaxing and wonderful it was to stay here. We originally planned to stay in Boracay but they closed it for cleaning, my wife found this place last minute and was a great decision. Great family setting, quiet and peaceful. Saltwater and chlorinated pools, awesome staff, live music, small beach with access to open water, great restaurants, great food and an awesome staff/service. Will be staying here again in the future.

This resort area is very large, has its own seawater swimming lake, more than 400 rooms, facilities and services are relatively complete, adults and children's play area are, and separate, currently staying in Japan and South Korea mostly, the key recommendation!

Need a nice getaway? This is the place to be! The first thing that you'll notice is that all the staff members are so friendly and attentive. You will always be greeted throughout the day; whether it's at the front desk, restaurant, pool, or even passing through. They genuinely want you to enjoy your time there. As for the facilities itself, the setup of the resort is pretty simple and ingenious. All the buildings are placed in circle and the names are in alphabetical order. Therefore if you're at Nile Hall and want to go to Jamaica Market, you know it's fairly close as the letter N is fairly close to the letter J in the alphabet and figuring out in which direction is easy as you'll just need to look for the buildings starting with M, L, and K. There's something to do for everyone; water sports (kayaks, jet skis, paddle board), activities (tennis, archery, wall climbing, shooting range), relaxation (spa, massages, manicures, pedicures), and so much more! Lounging by the lagoons/pools are even even nice because there's so many! To top everything off, it's reasonably priced. Everyone can be treated like royalty without costing you an arm or a leg.

Went with the day pass. Buffet is not recommended. Comes free with the day pass tho. Kids loved the pool. There are a lot of pools here and there but people only use about 3 of them. If you go to the ones in the back you can probably use it by yourself. Some of the pools weren't well maintained. Get there early so you can get a good spot.

Pros Nice relaxing hideaway, friendly staff, nice facility, good service. Staff speak fluent English better than those in Manila. Cons 80% of the food serve are too salty, based on my asking other who live in this city, peoples in this city have a heavier taste on food, which is why the foods serve are a little salty, especially on buffet, for a la carte, you can ask the chef to reduce salt. Scuba diving lesson are good price.

Perfect resort for relaxing. You might get lost cause this place is too big. Kind staffs and I loved that they even have nurses and doctors to take care of us. But there's not much things to do near this resort and breakfast isn't that delicious.

If you can afford it, this is a really nice place to stay. Rooms and food is pricey but you get your money's worth. Offers big comfortable rooms with a great big bed and luxurious bathroom. The area is decorated really nicely with palm trees and many big pools (some are salt water). Several restaurantsnl are located around the resort.

I am currently laying in their comfy bed writing this review and sad that our trip is almost over! We stayed 6 amazing days here. The staff is amazing! Very friendly and helpful with anything you need. When booking with them directly they have specials. We paid extra for a private car shuttle to and from the airport on arrival and departure. Instead of waiting for their shuttle we figured this would be best for us as we are traveling with kiddos. The resort is beautiful worth every penny! If you plan to stay 6 days or longer I suggest booking on their website directly as they had a special for those Who stay longer. Tons of things to do with the kids here. We pretty much did everything they offer (free and paid). The spa is tranquil and relaxing. Massage was perfect! Ask for Sabrina or Beth. Food was great! Also on their website if you book you get the breakfast buffet for everyone staying in your room for 30 bucks a day which is a steal when comparing it to the menu. Catch is you must prepay for this. We plan to come back soon! We love this little slice of paradise.

This is one of the resorts I've been to. It's big enough with lots of interesting activities like snorkeling, swimming, biking, kayaking, while small enough to be cozy. The rooms are well kept and the service here is very attentive. While they have a no tipping policy here, the quality of service has been above expectations. Highly recommend!

The place is superb. A lot of available activities to try out, some of which are offered free. Their man-made lagoon is one of a kind. Rooms are cozy with comfortable beds and nice mini bar set up. Felt like two days spent here wasn't enough 'coz the place is really nice. Even at peak seasons, you won't feel like it's crowded, the place is enormous you'll definitely find a place you'd call your spot. The food is great too. They have few restaurants of different specialty dish and cafe's with plenty of beverage options.

This is the first time that I will write a review for a place I visited. I've always appreciated resorts or places with a defined culture. Plantation Bay has that. Their staff are very courteous and helpful. Every 'thank you' we utter is answered promptly with 'you're welcome. ' They are all trained to speak in English and every service rendered comes with a ready smile. Last night, we experienced a power outage for less than an hour. We didn't complain but merely asked what was happening. This morning, they left a message by our door giving each of us a 30 minute kayak ride. It was a most pleasant surprise! I am sure they gave a similar if not the same complimentary pass to the other resort visitors. This is on top of a welcome basket with Cebu goodies. I like the 'no tipping policy' as well. It assures us that they deal with customers with a true spirit of service. Thank you, Plantation Bay.

Best place I have ever stayed. The staff are incredibly kind and go above and beyond for you. Our room was perfect and amazing pools. Lots of amazing food choices, and the breakfast buffet has lots of choices for different diet styles (and amazing fresh fruit I have been craving since I left). We took one of the offered day trips and had a great time, defiantly recommend going on the snorkling day tripper. Was so sad to leave though will defiantly be returning!

The resort is great! However, we we're allowed to check in at 3pm, we've been at the resort since 8 am with them having full knowledge of our early arrival. Sometimes "early bird" is not beneficial though. :D Many foreigners "asian" arrived at 12 noon and were able to check in right away. We got 1 suite and later added one 2 bedrooms, availability might be the issue. Saw just a few Filipinos during our stay. We were told not to enter Kalimanjaro if wet so we didn't but saw some foreign guest have their lunch just after swimming. : ( But we manage to enjoy the resort. Overall stay is fine.

This place is awesome! this my second time to come here and my experienced is the same as before! Staff are very friendly and accomodating! It's a perfect place for family, the water sports, kids entertainment and more. I also like the room that we stayed, it's very spacious and homey. I would like to come here over and over, I really recommend this resort!

This hotel is great for families, couples, friend trip. Different style rooms fit every need. Different pools, beach and activities mean you never bore. Different tours you can enjoy every day. The hotel is a bit on the expensive side, but they really make up for it with service, and their facilities. You do not need to leave the hotel if you don't want to, it is a great place to go and disconnect from our hectic world for a few days.

Awesomazing resort for everyone. For solo travelers, couples, friends and families. It is a haven which has all the necessary amenities for relaxation and complete get-away. The staffs are beyond accomodating and always ready when you need them. They even have Korean staffs and Japanese-speaking staff which makes it really convenient for Korean and Japanese guests. The only downside is that it is quite far from the cities on the main Cebu Island where you can go sightseeing and so its quite tough when you have had enough of the resort and would wish to go out.

We got a room for 4 people. They penalized us $50 per extra head, which by the way did not mention to us at all about that obnoxious rule when bringing extra guests in (not for a sleepover, but for 1 hr of swimming). They said it was in the contract but they didn't even give us time to read it. She made us sign it on the spot. How on earth would we know about that rule? We complained how unfair it was but they didn't even care to compromise with us. Being in the service industry myself, I know that there could've been a number of ways to meet half way. We asked if they were fine if we left unsatisfied and the service manager Ms. Sheila Oyao just said "it's up to you if that's how you feel about it" like wow, great customer service indeed. That definitely doesn't sound like how a real service manager is supposed to sound like. Being in the service industry, it's common sense to make the customers' satisfaction the top priority. I guess not for her. She knows how to drive customers away though. So to Plantation Bay Resort management, is that how you train your people to deal with guests?

I was right in choosing the place to relax with my family. Truly an amazing place to spend a holiday. We had a very nice experience: staff are very accommodating with all smiles whenever you speak to them, room and facilities are very good, the food tastes great, really worth it all. And they really stick to their "No Tip Policy".

The resort is prefect place to unwind after a week of adventure in cebu. The staff from the grounds to the manager is very delightful. You feel at home and treat you like "royalty". Especial thank you to the reservation department who was so accommodating for the changes of our travel plans. The grounds is very well maintained, restaurant and their nightly them dinner is wonderful. The housekeeping staff was attentive to your needs. The service at check and the ride to the airport was awesome. They pack us breakfast since our flight was early morning that was a nice touch. Overall our experience at the resort was excellent. The no tipping policy I think that's excellent. It's inclusive to your bill. And staff enforced it. We will definitely return and recommend the resort to our friends and family. From the arrival to the departure I give the resort 5 star.

The staff in this place is overwhelmingly friendly and would always go out of their way to see if they can assist you with anything. The pools are all child-friendly. Definitely a family place. The rooms are spacious, well maintained, clean, well ventilated. Parking is easy. Great beach view and you will be able to explore the resort within one afternoon. The place is peaceful and quiet, is not overcrowded, there are many pools and many restaurants.

I visited this resort two years ago and what I remember is awesome. My family got a ride to where we stayed. And there was a restaurant. The was so good and a spa, a beach, and kayaking. Best stay ever!

Smaller than expected but service was excellent. Saltwater lagoons and freshwater pool provided respite from the heat and children enjoyed non-motorized water activities as well as free 1-hour cycling, use of pingpong table, billiards and paid gaming machines. Tiny rocky beach. Food was pricey but at least portions were big. Roomy family rooms but tiny WCs had no bidet.

A small enclave, the territory separated from the outside world, inside restaurants, lagoons with sea water, swimming pools with fresh, shooting, courts, play area, kayaks in the lagoons, diving by the sea, water motorcycles, etc. From Retsepshine by taxi for 15 minutes to the shopping center. One tour is there for diving with whale sharks to swim.

Great hotel for families with children. Huge lagoon with sea water, about ten different categories of rooms. Children up to 17 years old with two adults relax for free!

Short Holiday At The End Of June 2016, 6 People. We lived in the house "Havana" in the OG, Apt, 7, and 8. Rooms were very clean, Room Service efficient and unobtrusive. Fresh water (unfortunately in plastic bottles) were always in the Minibar. Bathroom very spacious, very clean. The entire staff (even the cleaning squad, the met go to a to 05:00 in the morning when you Walk in) is very, very friendly and helpful. Food (Breakfast and dinner) is for Europeans, perhaps getting used to, but excellent. Cocktails at the pool bar take a while, but very good. All in all, excellent!

The resort is worth the price you pay. With the clean amenities, delicious food, and superb customer service, a guest can be well satisfied with the venue. It may be a child friendly resort, it is however not a baby friendly resort. There were no baby changing tables in any of their changing/comfort rooms.

We have stayed here for 3 times already, still planning to come back. I love the swimming pool and enjoyed their sports facilities also. The restaurants serve good food, my favorite is Palermo. The place is huge but there is a cart service for free to take you anywhere in the resort. Anothet perk is this time we experienced free shuttle ride to the airport. However, the spa services is a bit expensive.

Very nice place to have a vacation also with kids. Clean and being well taking care of. Have a lot of places/spots to hang during the day. Few restaurants. They have carts circling the resort all day long to assist the guests to go from one place to another. They also have shuttles from and to the near international airport.

The place is really nice. I really love their salt water lagoon. This place is really good for family vacation, my kids enjoyed wall climbing, swimming, water slides, diving and a lot more. They have 5 restaurants so you'll have good choices of what to eat. Staffs are all friendly and very helpful. This is an upscale resort but worth every penny.

One of my few favorite resort in Mactan and rightfully deserves all the good reviews. I highly recommend this resort for anyone seeking a luxurious time in Cebu and they boast the biggest artificial waterpark in the Philippines. I love every single moment of my stay here.

A combination of really good things and really bad things, nothing in between. Hence, my rating. Very good lagoon and swimming pool, motor water sports and overall staff service. Terrible food, made my whole family sick for several days. We had to call the nurse and doctor many times. My baby boy was dehydrated due to food poison at the Palermo Restaurant. Although, they have on-site 24h/day nurses that are very keen to help. The really feel for you and are very caring. There are danger areas and safety hazards everywhere you go. They even have an on-site pistol (38 cal to 45 cal) and rifle (US marine type) fire range. Just one skinny guy looking after the place.

Awesome experience, service was 5 star, the resort was beautiful and definately coming back. Only thing I can fault is the breakfast we ordered was really bad — i. E. Runny eggs and charred bacon.

Great place to stay! Food is a little pricey but very good and much to choose from. In all it is a very relaxing atmosphere with lots of water and many things for kids of all ages. Love to go again.

Great family place where children and adults can enjoy life in beautiful surroundings and lots of swimming. Here you are isolated in your own peaceful world and can completely relax. We were a little skeptical before arrival, since the place is 17-18 years old. But this was a groundless concern, since the place is well maintained and with clear signs of a high standard and effective maintenance management. The food was good, although not in the very top end. Price level relatively high. Good breakfast buffet that changes theme each day (eg. French, Chinese, Filipino). Great staff. Top trained and very committed. Of negative. The large waterfall with its slides was under maintenance and had apparently been it for a relatively long period of time. One morning it failed filling the breakfast buffet. Half were at one time empty. It was our impression that the failure was related to the usual leader had a day off.
