Ocean Green Eco Lodge

10/10 would recommend. Was my favorite spot of the whole trip. Definitely more camping vibe than hotel but in January it was perfect cause it cooled off nicely at night. Food was amazing and also extremely well priced for how good it was. Would definitely rebook.

Incredible stay! The view is unmatched, the food from the restaurant was delicious and the staff are lovely. It’s a really serene and restful place.
The room we had was fairly basic but it was fine for a few nights.
They suggested lots of activities to do and you can rent a scooter from there to get around.
We came by a van to Salvacion Junction then a tricycle the rest of the way, it was super easy!

Amazing stay with lovely staff (thank you Charis and Victoria! ), insane pool view, and wonderfully quiet given limited cabins. No light pollution so if you’re up late night after they turn the lights off you can see so many stars. Food was great. No AC but the fans more than did the job (at least in December). You can book underground river and other excursions through the hotel which is great, I also booked airport and onward transfer with them. I also recommend walking down the road 20 min for the quiet beach, the walk itself is lovely.
They don’t accept credit cards so I advise Wise which was easy and a lower fee than PayPal.
The only issue with my stay was the transfer to port Barton when I left, a van took me to the junction near Sabang but the guy there then told me he had no record of a transfer reservation and he couldn’t reach Ocean Green (number he had was disconnected and there’s no number for them online). So I waited an hour while he found me a spot on another van. In the end it was fine, minor delay, but I would recommend getting a number or receipt or something. Maybe there was a change of personnel at the junction that day, who knows, but having a contact number would have helped.

Best value for money accommodation visited in the phillipines. Tasteful, traditional decor combined perfectly with natural surroundings. Great views. Lots of greenery and flowers. The service and food is really excellent. If not staying in the accomadation I would advise stopping here for food and drinks. The homemade ice-cream is so delicious.

We stay for 2 nights the last on our trip, perfect quiet place very very clean.
With tasty food, good prices. They arrange excellent tours even borrow you a scooter.
They arrange our transport to airport.

The food was fantastic the staff were great the location 10/10. The attention to detail on the food was brilliant. The setting for an evening meal was beautiful the sunset was stunning, what a lovely evening. The rooms available to stay looked very nice and when we return we will be booking in, the infinity pool is fantastic but is only available to staying guests. I would highly recommend a stop here even just to look at the view over coffee.

We loved our stay at Ocean Green. The location is superb and quiet. The food is the best we have had in the Philippines (after four months of travel here), made from fresh vegetables and herbs grown in their own garden. The staff was exceedingly helpful. It felt very homely to stay there. Yes, food is a bit expensive, but I endorse it because of the extraordinarily tasty food.

We booked the small cottage, 9sqm. This was a mistake, as the room itself is way smaller, basically there is no place for your bags next to the bed.
The service was nice, but we booked our breakfast (the night before) for 8am due to our program later. Unfortunately it was 8:24 when we got it… Food is expensive, the owner definitely knows how to make the prices for tourists — they can charge what they want as nothing is near the place.
The pool is amazing.
You will need a scooter as the location is in the middle of nowhere.
All in all a nice place, but not for everyone!

Great stay overall and amazing fresh and flavourful food. Good for one night because of hot rooms and no A/C — just small fan. Would recommend and stay again! Pool was a dream and service was great!

Pro:
The one thing that makes this place special is its location and amazing infinity pool with what’s probably the best view in any of Palawan. The view over the palm trees to the ocean is hard to beat. The pool itself is great too. The staff is friendly. Check out until 12 is super convenient.
Things to consider:
You know there’s no AC when you book — but they only have one relatively ineffective standing fan, no ceiling fan. It was scorching hot at night, the most uncomfortable night we spent anywhere in the Philippines in a hotel. A ceiling fan would go a long way.
The room set up is a bit strange with a total of 4 beds, which means that there’s hardly space for anything. Good for groups and families of course. Hopefully those people get more than 1 fan though …
The food in the restaurant was very good — but also incredibly pricey. 600 PHP for a main dish is just touristy to the extreme, especially in this area. You don’t have too much of a choice for dinner though, if you don’t want to drive far …
Breakfast does start at 7AM, which is nice, though in reality it means people show up to work at 7 and then still have to prepare everything ;) at least everything is super fresh that way.
Overall quite a few negative points, but the relatively low price of ~50€/night as well as those views from the pool mostly make up for it. I still wouldn’t spend another night here, at least not during a period with hot temperatures.

We had a lovely stay at Ocean Green. The staff were helpful, views amazing and food really good! I slept really well too as the bed is very comfortable. Only comment would be to more accurately describe the dishes on the menu, I was not expecting the tuna sisig be absolutely covered in mayonnaise like a sauce as this was not written on the menu. I don’t like mayonnaise (and therefore would not have chosen it if mayo was mentioned) but also I feel like it ruined the flavour of the tuna. So I was disappointed with my last meal there and when you’re paying higher prices/having to eat in their restaurant due to location, the food really matters. Saying that the Gazpacho, breakfast, coconut shake and chicken adobo was delicious as well as the grilled lunch picnic on Isla Rita! Filtered water fountain by the pool would be great so we could fill up our own bottles. Overall a lovely stay.

What a gorgeous place to stay. The food was delicious, the room cosy and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful. It really lives up to its eco credentials. Everything is deliberately simple yet very high quality. We did some great hikes in the forest nearby. So glad we booked for four nights. I just wish it could have been longer.
