Oasis Balili Heritage Lodge Hostel

The place is charming, with an amazing history. The hosts are the nicest people in the world, as are the staff who are happy to tell you about their beautiful island. I got severely sunburned and they came to my rescue, even going for burn creams and taking me to a shaded pool to cool. I can't recommend this place more for a traveller.

Peaceful place with a nice history, 450php per night in a four dormitory room which is a very good price! And the service is amazing and very helpful. I really enjoyed my time here.

Great house with a very interesting history. The hostess was made it worth the visit she has all the bants. Very well looked after by all the staff. Food was good, and they make nice iced drinks check the menu on arrival. Had a great experience.

I would 100% recommend this place!  Cheap price between 400 and 500 pesos (fan vs AC room), comfortable beds, very close to ferry port, breakfast optional, and fantastic owners and staff!   It is also centrally located to Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary, waterfalls and Panglao Island. Now after staying all of that, I must state that this is NOT a party hostel — you are looking for a place to drink, listen to music and stay up late you will not find it here. Now that's said I would stay with them again! I stayed 2 days and it was so pleasant. This hostel is actually a very beautiful and historical mansion from 1926 and has plenty of history! It was captured by the Japanese during WW2 and used as the military headquarters for the island and housed the Colonel of the Japanese forces.  It was turned over the US after the war and 3 individual US Presidents have visited or stayed here! In fact, the day that I arrived a ceremony and historical meeting was held here with traditional Filipino dance and singing and the US Ambassador to the Philippines attended and hung out for a few hours! The owners: Ray is an American from New York and his wife Gloria is from Bohol — she grew up here and this house was her father's. They are a wonderful pair and will REALLY go out of their way to help you. While the house is historical and a good place to stay, Ray and Gloria are the reason I stayed 2 days.

Wonderful homestay, this is a big family house that they turned into a guesthouse, just amazing if you want to feel at home. The couple who own the place is so helpful and kind, very confortable home with all you need and for a cheap price. Big living room so you can meet a lot of people, I wish I could stay more.

Amazing hostel — beautiful building, clean rooms and cr, not far from the port. Owners and stuff are so welcoming and caring, I felt very comfortable there. Wish them all the best!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place deserved one. The staff and owners in particular are the friendliest I’ve met not just in the Philippines but throughout my 4 months of travel around SE Asia. I felt like this guest house was my home away from home here and it’s the people there that really make it. The facilities are nice, and the house itself is amazing. You feel like you’re living in an old colonial mansion! I was able to easily rent a motorbike here and they gave me tips on where to go and what to do. I will 100% be back here if I’m ever in the Philippines again. Thanks Ray and Gloria for a fantastic stay. You are like a ray of glorious sunshine on Bohol!
