My wife and I enjoyed every second here. We had a spacious and very comfortable sea view room (Nemo) which was kept very clean. Not luxury but in every aspect a well-run looked after resort. Attentive and very friendly staff. The food ranged from pretty ok to delicious and the breakfast buffet was good. Sea Explorers dive center was superb, just like their dive masters. Every reef around Cabilao was pristine so we really enjoyed our diving. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will happily return :-)
We stayed at Pura Vida for a few days as part of our tour organized by Snorkel Ventures. The resort was great, good food, nice accommodation and very friendly staff. Suzette and her team make us all feel especially welcome. The area has a lot to offer to divers and snorkellers. The resort works with Sea Explorers dive operation and they were terrific. Vanela and her team provided superb service for out group. They were great at guiding us and pointing out various marine creatures. Vanela's dive leader, Bileg, was especially helpful with my wife and I in the water. Many thanks to all for a memorable stay at Pura Vida.

The hotel and staff are great, the rooms are clean and the shower area is very spacious in the room. Lovely balcony overlooking the sea across to the neighbouring island.
The internet is available but isn't upto streaming standard, it even struggles with uploading photos or sending an email. My advice would be to buy a Filipono sim card at the airport, they are quite cheap and you can add money to your sim as you need to.
My only other observation is that the kitchen requires you to order your lunch at breakfast time, and your dinner at lunch time, it's a small operation so basically they need to know what to prepare in advance. Pizza is available at anytime without pre order.
The resort isn't that suitable for people with a walking difficulty as there are a lot of steps from the beach to the rooms and restaurant.
Beach dogs… unfortunately they aren't looked after very well and as a result a lot of them have mange, some are worse off than others and it really distressed myself and the other guests to see them suffering. It would be good if the hotels and dive schools on the island had collection boxes for donations to get medical help for these dogs, after all mange is curable with one injection and tablets. Maybe they good start a spay and neuter program for the beach dogs?
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back.
