Royal Decameron Punta Sal

This place was recommended by other local Peruvians that visited before. I wish I didn't take that recommendation. Coming from the United States and having been at other multiple inclusive resorts… This place is horrible.
The service is really where it tops the low stars. The staff at the restaurants are not attentive as they should be Plus the food tastes sub sub par. Mostly serving American food and actually tasting awful. The drinks are awful too. You have to order from a set menu and can't ask for your choice.
The rooms are okay but try not to go on the first floor because there's a lot of random animals and insects that can come into your room. No elevators available so prepare to walk up the stairs. This resort is large so be prepared to walk anyways.
The pool is nice very large and plenty of areas for young children because there are shallow parts and at any given area the pool doesn't go over 5 ft.
The Wi-Fi and restaurant reservation system is a joke. Just like others have written, impossible to reserve restaurants plus no one at front desks don't know how to help. A lot of pointing fingers and telling you to wait. When asked for a manager, we were told there is no manager available…? …?
Many staff members in this resort but no one managing? Maybe that's why it's such a chaos.

Staff is super nice! Rooms are OK. Definitely not a luxury resort. The buffet food I thought was better than the all inclusive plus. So probably could just do standard. I believe they could up their game on food, English speakers and a room remodel or refresh. I don’t think I would pay 4k again to stay here with the family. However there were alot of kid activities which was good so I give them that.

For a place known for its fresh seafood, the buffet was underwhelming. A la carte restaurants were all closed due to low season, and the one that stayed open felt like an extension of the buffet. We found it much better (and cheaper) to eat at local restaurants in town—fresh, traditional, and delicious. The pool bar closed early at 6pm, and there was no fresh coffee available until 9am—not ideal with a young baby up early. Drinks were limited to a preset menu—no substitutions or custom orders, even with a full bar behind the counter. In hindsight, a non–all inclusive stay with meals out would’ve offered better value and a more authentic experience.
