Pukantu Hostal

Lovely little hotel super close to the main square. Very decent buffet breakfast compared to other hostels we have stayed at in Peru. Great view from the breakfast room on the top floor. We stayed for two nights in a double room, had everything we could need. They provided towels, small bars of soap, mini sachets of shampoo and there was a functioning remote control heater in the room. Room cleaning everyday as well. Friendly staff too. Would recommend staying here if you’re planning on spending a couple nights in Puno.

We found this small hotel, very close to the central part of Puno, to be a complete charmer. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout, from the small foyer to the extraordinary relief map of the town and its hinterland that clung to one wall of the central atrium, which was 5 or 6 storeys high. Our room was fairly small and modestly furnished but was very clean, as was our bathroom. Wifi was good as was hot-water supply. We were lucky to be on the second floor as there is no lift. On the other hand breakfast was available on the 7th floor penthouse and, given Puno's 3800 m altitude, it was quite an effort to clamber up all those stairs.
We came and went a couple of times when travelling to Lake Titicaca and the hotel had no problems with leaving excess luggage while we travelled.

This was a great place to stay. Very clean and excellent breakfast with a view. There is no lift and you can hear the busy street from the room, but is great value for money and in a convenient location.

Great location, a stones throw from the square. Rooms are very comfy, with plenty of blankets but there is also heating too. Shower was always hot. Wi-Fi was good. Everything was super clean. Great breakfast. Only two considerations: the building is 6 stories tall and no lift, so re consider if you can't walk up stairs. There was no reading light by the bed so if one of you wants to sleep and the other didn't that's a bit hard.

Great hotel, the beds are comfortable and it has heating which us helpful in winter! The plugs by my bed did not work, but the wall plugs by the door were fine :)

Awful night's sleep here, there are windows above the doors going to public areas where the lights are on constantly and the curtains are very thin. Very poorly designed.
In our group they then said 6 of us had stained our towels, none of us have ever experienced this before and have travelled a lot before, when questioned about it was very vague that there was a mark and said the towels were still at the laundry. Very unhappy with the experience here.

We found this hotel very good value for money. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and warm. Really nice hot shower. We were able to leave our bags in a locked room whilst we went on our overnight lake Titicaca tour and wait for our onward transfer in the hotel lobby. All around, a great hotel.

Good value for money / budget option. Great location near the main square and many restaurants. Rooms and beds are good. We stayed twice at the hotel, the first time the bathroom was not super clean. Shower with hot water, water pressure varies. Good breakfast on 6th floor with view over Puno and Titicaca. No elevator.

Booked a twin room last minute for a few days in Puno. I arrived early but the staff were kind enough to get me checked in to my room a bit earlier than the check in time. The rooms are comfortable and great value. The location is perfect. Nice spot for breakfast on the top floor. Good Wi-Fi. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. After checking out they were kind enough to store my bags for the day whilst I went on a tour. Highly recommend staying here. Excellent value.
