Inka's Rest B&B Inkas Rest Hostel

Loved this hostel. Just a few minutes walk from the center but still a quiet place. Very helpful and lovely staff, great breakfast included. I stayed in the dorm rooms, very specious and comfortable beds. And most importantly to me — clean and comfortable showers and bathrooms.
You can also book a trip to the islands through them.

The hotel does the job: good comfy beds, we slept amazing. The shower was hot and with a lot of pressure. The breakfast was good: coffee and tea, juice, bread, jam and eggs. Good price. And the room was clean which is what matters most.
The hotel looks a bit dated, communal areas were not particularly clean and the staff is kind and helpful but bit disorganised. I checked in for example, but they filed me as “no show”.

It does the job for one night, and for the price, you really can’t complain. Check-in took quite a while—not sure the guy fully knew what he was doing. Beds are relatively comfy, and the showers were warm at best. Breakfast was meant to be ready at 6am but was a little late (still nice, though not super filling). One thing to note is that it’s quite noisy—lots of street noise comes through, especially at night. Overall, a decent stopover spot if you just need somewhere for the night.

Good: It's a pretty solid cheap hostel with some good features, like plugs by every bed, a reasonably comfortable common area, and a decent breakfast included. I thought the bed was pretty comfortable, and the kitchen looked decent.
Bad: The shower varied from hot to barely warm, the street lights lit up the dorm brightly all night through the thin curtains, they charge you for a towel, and the breakfast ends kind of early (9am).

The price is very nice and they have good breakfast but everything else is SO bad — cold showers, hard beds, tight spaces, loud noices all night long. The rooms look nothing like the pictures.

Fairly average — comfortable beds and central enough. Generally clean but wasn’t hot water. Bring earplugs!

A convenient option for a short stay in Puno. The hostel is close to the city centre but located in a small street so that it doesn't get loud at night. In the dorm the beds don't have any curtains and are quite close to each other; it might not be the best option if you want some more privacy.

Great hostel! very central, lots of charging ports and comfy beds. Breakfast is convenient. They offer tours to the lake and transfers. It’s about 5 mins from the bus station.

The common area is really nice and the hostel offers tours. Mine didn’t go as expected but Gilda took well care of it! I really appreciated it!

Very central and easy to get to from the bus station. The staff here are lovely and very helpful. They allowed us to have an early check-in and have breakfast on the morning we arrived. Unlimited tea and coffee all day as well which is always a welcome bonus.

Hilda was a great host, if a bit short-staffed during our stay. The location is convenient to downtown and transportation. Included breakfast was a nice treat. Good hot shower.

✅️ New beds, warm sheets. Individual light and enough plugs that are not too loose like in most parts of Peru. Clean enough. Kitchen well equipped and big. Hot water (heated by gas, but low pressure), toilet paper and soap available in bathrooms. Very well located, next to museum (you have to go to see the mummies in Carlos Dreyer museum) and to really cheap restaurants (7 soles for a whole meal! ). Good price. Includes breakfast (6:30 to 10:00) : yogurt, sweet popcorn, milk, coffee, pinapple juice, coca leaves, hot water, 1 pancake, 1 egg, bread (as much as you want), butter and strawberry mermalade. Wifi works ok, not very strong. New and big lockers made of wood. Hangers in the rooms.
❌️ Rooms with very little space between the beds. Plugs in the kitchen are loose and don't work well. Smell in bathrooms and some parts is a bit unpleasant (chemical product). Very weak light in the bathrooms. No keys, you need to wait the staff to open the door even to leave the hostel. Staff is indeed very disorganized and unfriendly. Felt like I was really annoying them when I ask a restaurant recommendation and toilet paper refill. No need to be friendly, just cordial. Don't treat your clients like you are doing a favour. You are a service provider after all. They also didn't let us leave while they checked again if we paid everything, even though we had it all ready minutes before and needed to leave immediate for the tour.

Basic dorm rooms that seem to be a bit cramped with five beds inside. Good for a night or two. Some bathrooms have a funny smell. I had to leave early to catch my bus at 5am and asked for someone to be at the reception at that time to let me out. There was nobody there as promised so I had to use dental floss to open the front door. Staff members didn't seem friendly.

Very cheap AND a lot to eat at the breakfast! Juice, milk, bread, cornflakes you can take as much as you want. One time we got some eggs, another time some pancakes. Very good!
The bed is comfortable with a lot of blankets for the cold night, the owners are sweet.

The hostel is very cheap but not so clean. It smells bad in some rooms and the Wi-Fi is sometimes very slow. Also the laundry service is cheep but you get your laundry back with fuzz. Nobody speaks really english.
Could be better defently but still you get a good sleep and you have some nice people around.

My mate and I are on a 6-weeks tour of South America starting from Peru. We visited few cities but Puno is our last stop before we go to Bolivia. Inca Rest is good. We only stayed here one day. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Lovely breakfast was provided in the morning. We were disappointed that there was no hot water in the morning we were leaving so couldn't have a shower. But the lovely lady did gave us sandwiches and soft drinks when we were leaving. 👍😎🇬🇧
