Reviews of Ausangate Lodge
We booked this lodge but we get another facility of the lodge 15 min away from the main hotel. The owners explained that their main hotel was full so only this was free. Our place was terribly old. No hot water, no Wi-Fi, a very cold place to eat and a host that was very unfriendly. Other persons after us has had the same problem! Make sure that you be in the right place because this was really a disaster.

"Don't say I didn't warn you! This hotel was a total scam, and I regret not checking the reviews first.
After a long day, we drove to this lodge expecting the beautiful place we saw in the photos. When we arrived, it looked completely different—I even thought I had the wrong place or address. I called the number listed, but things only got worse when I spoke to the host, who was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He mentioned that the hotel shown in the pictures was under reconstruction. I was shocked, as I had called twice in the days leading up to our stay, and he never mentioned that we’d be staying at a completely different place. If he had been honest, it would have saved us so much trouble.
When I raised this, he didn’t apologize and instead got defensive. I told him it felt like a scam, as he’s basically sending guests to a different place without informing them. According to older reviews, this isn’t the first time he’s done this—previously using excuses like the hotel being "fully booked, " and now claiming it’s "under renovation. " Who knows what excuse he’ll use next?
