Jaya Machu Picchu Boutique Hotel

Let me address location first since people mention it is hard to find. After the train station there is a maze of market stalls. You want to find the first right out of the markets and go uphill. It is a short climb to the hotel from there. If you find yourself crossing the river you are going the wrong way. All this to say the location is perfect for the train station and a quick walk across the astorturf bridge to get to the buses for Macchu Piccu.
Service: after coming from a five-star hotel that did not have five-star service, it was great being welcomed at Java. We only stayed for two nights but they learned our names in that short amount of time 🙂A few suggestions for mgmt to consider:
1) please ensure there is enough small change so people going to Macchu Piccu can hand in smaller bills and get money for the toilet up on the mountain.
2) it seems unreasonable to check in and be told “your room is ready but you will have to pay 30 usd if you want to access it 2 hours and 15 minutes before check in”
Rooms: the room was comfortable and had some nice decorative accents. There are only 2 smallish windows that open in the room and one each in the toilet and shower. We were fine but there is no a/c. I can’t speak to if other local hotels lack a/c or not. For mgmt: please add some hooks in the shower room and an extra lock on the room door for added security.
Breakfast: unlike the AI summary, I found the breakfast unimpressive.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Pueblo Machu Picchu, just a stone’s throw from the train station. The staff is super friendly and attentive, breakfast good quality, complimentary coffee, tea and water in the lobby and the rooms comfortable and clean with good beds and bathroom amenities available so no need to bring them in your day pack. Luggage can be stored when you visit Machu Picchu. Can highly recommend this place!

Perfectly located for our early bus to Machu Picchu and right across from the Paddington Bear statue. Franz at the front desk was exceptional — he sorted our room, arranged an in-room air conditioner, and even sent us off with a good luck charm souvenir. The hotel was very clean throughout, and breakfast was a very good with made-to-order eggs, fresh fruit, bread, and hot drinks. They also stored our luggage post-checkout until our train departure. Highly recommended for its helpful staff, cleanliness, and central location!

Our stay at Jaya was amazing! The rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. It is very close to everything you need including the train station, the market and the machu picchu line up for the buses. They offer breakfast and free water/tea all day. Staff, especially Luis, was very helpful and will keep your bags if you arrive early so you can walk around. Wifi was also great and they offer portable AC units for rooms if you ask! 10/10 would recommend.

Loved staying at the Jaya Machu Picchu Boutique Hotel. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, Leónidas met us at the station and guided us up to the hotel, which was super close to the train station. He was especially helpful by letting us know the long queue for in-person tickets for Machu Picchu. He advised us to go straight to the line while the hotel held our bags for us. Overall, the service was wonderful, I like that it’s a small boutique hotel in which you can become familiarized with the staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, they helped answer many questions that we had. Hotel room was clean and cozy. The location was perfect, right by the river and so close to everything and in front of the Paddington bear statue. The breakfast was also a favorite, eggs made to order, and a variety of breads, fresh fruit juices, fresh fruits, etc.
Overall, would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.

Weird janky hotel (we were surprised by the reviews here? ). Shower water was cold and the water was yellow. Water smelled really gross too and so we couldn’t use the hot tub. Our floor had a six-floor elevator shaft that was left open. They also asked us to pay for some of the room in US cash and didn’t let us know beforehand. Weird. TV didn’t turn off or change channels. You also had to go downstairs to ask for the safe key and they didn’t provide it.
Pros: Breakfast starts at 5am, which was great since we were hiking Machu Picchu early the next morning. The hot breakfast was delicious, the service at breakfast was good, the freshly squeezed orange juice was excellent, and the coffee was strong.

We stayed one night before visiting Machu Picchu. It was super clean and comfortable and the location is great! The staff members are extremely warm and helpful. Breakfast is amazing too, which is very important before heading to Machu Picchu. We loved it and would definitely recommend!

Hands down the best hotel during our trip to Peru. Great value for money as well. Clean, modern rooms. Great shower and hot tub in the room. Excellent breakfast and very convenient location. Can be a bit of a climb from the train station depending on where the train stops. If it stops at the main station, the hotel is a pretty short walk. If it stops down the hill as it did for us, then it's a bit more of a climb. That said, they will come to the station to get you (by walk) if you give them your train timings. The problem for us was that they said they would pick us up, but didnt confirm where and how. So ended up walking to the hotel. No big deal.

Beyond happy with my choice to stay here for our slightly chaotic Machu Picchu visit. One of the front desk agents met us at the train station and helped walk our bags to the hotel and from there we had a great stay.
Then came our departure day… the day of the fatal train accident. My husband and I spent a lot of our time in the lobby, waiting for the tracks to reopen. Some guests just booked an extra night and went to their rooms. However, we were pretty adament on trying to leave that night. I figured that gave them the perfect reason to finally hit a point and say alright guys, if you're not going to stay here, you gotta leave the hotel. Nope. Total opposite. They said we could stay in the lobby as long as we wanted/needed and even brought us comforters and showed us to the back corner of the lobby that was quieter and had a long couch bench and a pull out chair/bed for us to sleep for a bit. We eventually left the hotel around 2am but honestly they were true angels in a pretty stressful situation, which speaks volumes to me in our time of need. The definition of hospitable staff! ❤️

We had an excellent stay at this hotel in Aguas Calientes. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with great warmth and professionalism. The manager was always available and smiling, which made our experience particularly enjoyable.
The staff is remarkably kind: always ready to help, offer advice about the region, and ensure everything is running smoothly. We truly felt welcome, more like staying with friends than just guests.
The room we were given was superb: spacious, very clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we greatly appreciated the thoughtful touches (good bedding, well-equipped bathroom, etc. ). It was a real pleasure to return to it each evening after our days of sightseeing.
Special mention goes to the breakfasts, which were simply outstanding: fresh, generous, and delicious products, served with a smile by a young woman who was as professional as she was friendly. In short, this hotel greatly contributed to the success of our trip to Peru. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, well-maintained and comfortable place with truly caring staff.

Front desk staff (only staff we met) was very kind, gracious and accommodating, offering assistance for any need. Fresh clean water and teas available in lobby. Small elevator to all floors, fits three with luggage max. Easy quick access to train station. Room was nice, big window, big, firm bed, nice table with couples dual (one) chair. In room jacuzzi, with separate rain shower. Good pressure with hot water. Yellow water in jacuzzi is from hot springs (we were told). Solo enclosed water closet. Like most dwellings, no fans but windows. Really solid place, would stay again. Enjoy.

This is a quaint hotel in the heart of Aguas Calientes. Before my arrival the staff were already assisting me with information regarding entry tickets to Machu Picchu, guide arranging and training station pick up. Fran met me and took me to the Minister of Culture office and took my bags to the hotel. They gave me a beautiful room with a view of the main street and river & water fall that flows through the town. There was a huge soaker tub with jets that I used daily. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Leo was also amazing assisting me back to the train. They were available whenever I needed something like ice or fresh towel. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a lovely little hotel in which to stay while touring Machu Picchu. The staff are always willing to help with anything you need. The included breakfast is very simple but adequate. Veronica was always friendly and gracious and willing to attend to our every need. Rooms are plain but comfortable. There is no AC and some guests might not enjoy the street noise (my room overlooked the river). Activity dies down around 10pm and then all you hear is the river. There was a safe in the room but it wasn't of much use for this kind of trip and was not really well secured in any event. Overall I would strongly recommend this hotel. It is a very short walk to the Machu Picchu buses by the way.

Bery nice hotel in Aguas Calientes. We had a different hotel assigned as part of our Inka Trail tour, but it was subpar. We walked in and the receptionist offered to show the room without us even asking. We were given a fair rate despite walking in. The room was large. The king bed was large and comfortable. Our room included a jacuzzi tub.

The service is excellent. We only stayed for a night but the personell was super helpful and friendly. Beds were awesome, rooms are quietx we had a very nice rest before our day ar Machu Picchu. Totally recommended!

Amazing stay close to the train station for easy access when coming off trail! Loved how spacious the room was, consistent hot water, the robes and slippers. The staff was extremely friendly and accomdating!

Beautiful, comfortable hotel. I stayed with my boyfriend for one night on our way to Machu Picchu. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating, and our room was luxurious. We enjoyed the large bed and jacuzzi bath. Luis at the front desk was especially helpful.
