The location, very close to the train station, and the super friendly service of all the staff.

If you stay at this hotel, make sure you request a river room! The view is absolutely stunning of the water below and it cancels out the noise of the city. Clean, compact and a beautiful bathroom. Friendly staff and amazing value for the price. Fairly central but it’s a blessing to be slightly removed from the rest of the city.

The staff was very helpful and extremely eager to please. Nice room and bathroom with a nice view of the river and mountain.

We booked this hotel because it advertises its spa, however upon arrival we were told the sauna is only available in the mornings. Small room, but with great river views.

I only stayed here one night, so I may not have gotten a perfect sense of the hotel. From my experience, however, it was fairly good. The room was small, but cozy, and had a great view of the river. They also had a flatscreen set up in the room. However, everything here had a slight downside. The blanket in my room was damaged, with several buttons missing from the comforter, and the shower had very poor temperature control. You could either scald yourself, or freeze. During the night, as well, the train was incredibly loud, which made it hard for me to get to sleep on time. Then when I woke up, at 6:00, and I went to have breakfast, it was a bit underwhelming. There was simply just not much variety, and what food they did have was incredibly light fare — a soft, somewhat disgusting granola, strawberry yogurt that was a bit too watery, and some assorted bread, ham, and cheeses, which were actually alright compared to the rest of the food, but still only just alright. Overall, it was a decent place to rest my head, but it had some bits that held it back from being really fantastic.

Very nice place, wonderful view while you're having breakfast and it was delicious, Wi-Fi it's a little slow but otherwise it's ok.

Hotel Ferre was a very nice stay—-not high end luxury but beautiful and extremely comfortable for a few nights. It was clean, had a very nice bathroom with great towels. The roaring river rapids flowed right outside our window, like living in a postcard! Nice free breakfast in the morning. Great place to stay. They will pick your bags up from the train station too!

Staff and hotel location were good. But our room which has a great view had some stinky smell from restroom : (

TRAIN TRACKS! Window to our room just meters away from train tracks. They ran all night; 11:00, 1:00, 2:00, 4:00. They told us this was not typical hours for the train, but nevertheless. We did not sleep the night before our Machu Picchu trip. Luckily, the staff had pity upon us, and allowed us to nap in a staff room after our hike free of charge. Overall, the hotel is clean enough and the food is fair. Beware of the shockingly loud train!

Nice hotel with good amenities, but we had some complications while we were there that made our experience a little sour. First off, the water shut off while I was in the shower, all suds up of course, for about 2 hours which kind of put a kink in our night. Secondly, we got food poisoning from the free breakfast. What's worse is that the hotel did nothing to reimburse or atone for these inconveniences. We stayed 2 nights, and I requested a refund for the second night because of the water and the food poisoning, which ruined the rest of our trip. I would stay elsewhere if I could, especially for the money.

Thanks to Mario and all the employees. We had the best experience staying there even though it was just for one night. The view from our room to the river and mountains was breathtaking. I definitely would recommend it to anyone traveling to Macchu Picchu.

Full is mosquitos! Ok so machu pichu in general is full of these insects, but this hotel was a nightmare. There was a swarm in our room and the reception staff were not half bothered about it. : (

Small basic hotel. Served its purpose as a place for a few hours sleep before Machu Picchu.

Super, super noisy. Wi-Fi only in the lobby.
