Colca Trek Lodge best experience

Part of our Colca Trek tour. Amazing views, food, service, and experience. Hot water bottles were a nice touch! Lovely common area with fireplace and patio. Delicious authentic Andean cuisine. Warm comfy beds. Bikes were in great condition and they rustled up some trekking poles for the high altitude hike to the Fortaleza de Chimpa on the other side of the canyon. Saw condors many times with the help of our awesome ecologist guide Patty. Gracias Por todos!

The view and setting we're special. The food in the restaurant was very low standardood. The room we had was very basic and the Bathroom was smelly although clean I think something to do with plumbing we have experienced this before. Shower no pressure.

Great experience with Colka Trek. I really recommend this agency and the Colka Trek Lodge. The Lodge is beautiful, comfortable, and really cozy, possibly the best stay of this kind in Peru during our journey.
The experience was really familiar, considering a group of 10 people, enjoying a tour very well planned and organized.
Definitely not the kind of “mass” tour, but a very well conceived and balanced experience, also with high respect for the territory and its culture and environment.
A last comment on the people who guided us in this journey (Omar, Augusto, Edwin and the people working at the lodge) : competent, kind and passionate… very special people!

We made the 2 day trip with Augusto and Edwin, starting in Arequipa. We were a tiny group of 8 and most of the time we were alone in this incredible landscape. Augusto was a wonderful guide, showing us beautiful spots and explaining us everything. The Lodge where we stayed the night has a stunning view right at the canyon, delicious food and very friendly staff. The hikes were exactly at the right level, a little strenuous but not too much. You always have to consider the altitude you’re at. And in the morning we hiked to the condor lookouts and saw so many of these magnificent birds. The whole trip was worth the price!

The Colca Trek Lodge is a glorified hostel charging 4 star hotel rates. The high prices paid per room do not at all reflect the quality of the hotel. Once the reservation was confirmed (required to pay 100% USD prior to arrival) the owners are no longer concerned about your stay. There was no hot water during the stay, there was no Wi-Fi during the stay and we had to ask a few times to get the power to the room turned on. We tried and the restaurant staff tried contacting the owners with the concerns but there was no response or the issue was ignored and not resolved. The restaurant staff was friendly and the views were nice but this didn't make up for the unnecessarily high prices.
If you are willing to pay equivalent prices, I would suggest checking out the much nicer Colca Lodge Spa & Hot Springs instead.

We were very disappointed not to be staying here for more than one night. Hot springs and Spa are excellent. Sadly not enough time to take in walks in the area. Birds are amazing to watch, especially the Humming birds. Our evening meal in the small restaurant was lovely and breakfast in the larger one was also good as there was a large choice from the buffet. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. Very smiley 🙂The views are fabulous as it’s located in lovely countryside. I would definitely recommend even though I thought our room could do with a bit of updating in particular the shower room.

We had an amazing stay at the Colka Lodge. Very calm atmosphere, amazing landscapes, very comfortable beds and spacious bedroom. Everything was perfect, unforgettable experience! I highly recommand this trip and stay in this hotel!

We did the 2 day/1 night Colca Trek and it was great! We were picked up early in the morning at our hostel by a private bus from Colca Trek. Here we met our tourguide Savino and our driver Michi. These two really made our trip even more special because they were so much fun together! Very high knowledge level and always time for some jokes (often at expense of each other :) ). The first day you drive towards Colca Canyon and make multible stops on the way to look at nice places, nature and animals. At the end of day one you arrrive in their beautiful lodge with a magnificent view of the canyon. There is a nice fireplace where you can have a drink and relax. The second day you have a walk along the canyon towards the viewpont of the Condors, also beautiful (we saw 3! ). After this you have a bikeride down and enjoy the magical scenery. All in all a great experience, Savino and Michi thank you!

We arrived just in time to enjoy the fire in the dining room to socialize with the other guests. It was perfect, the staff offered juice, beer and wine and kept the fire going. Dinner was wonderful, fish with potatoes (of course which were wonderful). Rooms are roomy, clean and boast a wonderful view of the sunrise at Colca, you can jump out of bed, open the curtains, get back in and watch the sunrise. Breakfast was great and the bike tour of the condors with the group was great. The tour guides were wonderful, fluent in English. The condors were plentiful on the bike ride. Lunch afterwards was pasta with veggies and a take away bag with fruits and snacks was special. They have a HUGE condor hung in the game room, got to see that!. Staff was very friendly.
