Hostal Bubamara

In November this year, my friend had a very disappointing experience while staying at this hotel. She temporarily left her luggage in the hotel lobby, and the staff assured her that the area was very safe and monitored by surveillance cameras. However, when she returned to check on her luggage, she discovered that $450 was missing!
She immediately reported the issue to the hotel staff, but they responded with indifference. Not only did they refuse to assist, but they also claimed that the luggage had been moved and “coincidentally” ended up in a spot not covered by the cameras. Due to the lack of evidence, even the police couldn’t help. The officers even warned her that without solid proof, the hotel might counter-accuse her of defamation.
To this day, the money remains missing. Because of financial difficulties, my friend now survives on nothing but bread and water each day. This experience is both heartbreaking and infuriating! I hope everyone stays vigilant when choosing accommodations, as the staff at this hotel are not only irresponsible but also unwilling to provide any assistance!

【I lost my cash in this hostal】
I stay in Hostal Bubamara 17NOV-19NOV 2024, I save my baggage in hostal 19NOV-20NOV because I went to Colca 2 days tour.
The staff let me left my baggage in the lobby on 19Nov morning, said it's safe here because they have CCTV (camera).
I check my baggage and found I lost my US dollar cash 450$ in my baggage after I came back from tour on 20Nov, also I'm pretty sure cash amount before I left.
I talk to hostal, I feel they don't want to help with this problem, they said it's my problem didn't take care of my money. And don't want to call police.
I want to check the video after I found my money disappear, the hostal said they was move my stuff to another space without CCTV.
It's WEIRD my money disappear after hostal move my baggage to somewhere only for staff (it's not open to anyone) without camera, and don't want to help. It's not friendly to traveler!
Went to Police office, the hostal said if I report and didn't find any proof about them, them will sue me.
I didn't know where my money going to so far~~but it just disappear after I left it in this hostal 19Nov-20Nov this period.
Please make sure take care your belongings and baggage anytime anywhere, because nobody can responsible of this even you trust them.

Really cute hotel with cozy and comfortable rooms and a great terrace to watch the sunset. A lot of noise from the honking cars outside.
