Asuncion Palace

Asuncion Palace Hotel.
(room 204)
Basic room and clean with balcony, but old hotel.
Located 5min walk to restaurants and cafés, busy street outside, 4min walk to supermarket (Biggie Express).
Room has refrigerator and air-condition, reception have hair dryer and iron to loan.
Could pay with bank card and early check-in at 12:00.
No free water bottles in the room.
Unstable Wi-Fi, can stream videos when its available but losing connection now and then.
Renovation is going on, don’t know if its for the whole rooms, but the bathrooms must be updated.
The key (not card) must be returned to reception when going outside.
Breakfast was basic, not much to choose from, but they can make eggs and toast for you.
Friendly and helpful staff.
20min drive from airport, around 41.000 PYG (5.5 USD) with Bolt.
Airport don’t have free Wi-Fi, ask café for Wi-Fi to book Bolt and go upstairs on the departure floor (Main Entrance) to meet the driver.
Just stayed 1 night and for the price and location its worth it, 3 of 5 stars, would give 4 of 5 if better Wi-Fi,

Hotel situated in a historic building that is well-worth the price. I loved my stay with clean facilities, solid AC, good shower pressure, strong Wifi, and such kind staff.
I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, where they make fresh eggs for you, have a wide assortment of fruits and pastries, and delicious juice.

My favorite hotel in Asunción 🫶🏼
Wonderful view of the sunset on the terrace at the top. Amazing breakfast. And the staff is the best!

Lovely atmospheric hotel housed in a beautiful old building in a wonderfully central safe location. The room was bright clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and obliging particularly Cirilo. There was a pleasant rooftop terrace with lovely views of Asuncion.

In summary, good value hotel in a great location.
Pros:
— Good old town location, most historic landmarks in easy walking distance. Large super market 5 minutes walk.
— very fast internet.
— historic building, with lots of character, though don't expect anything fancy.
— incredibly friendly staff, not everyone spoke English but that wasn't an issue. Everyone seemed to know me by first name.
— I felt it was very reasonably priced.
— strong AC, which was really important due to the crazy summer heat.
Other:
— rooms facing the street can be somewhat noisy during daytime.
— breakfast is average, selection of fruits, eggs, cereal.

We stayed for one night as part of an organised group tour. This place has seen better days and has considerable faded charm. The whole place is run down and in need of updating. There is a lift. Unfortunately we had to leave early for a coach so we only had a packed breakfast. It was very basic. The neighbourhood is very run down. We walked quite a way to find a bar or restaurant. It's a shame because you can see vestiges of glory days. The toilet seat hissed out air when you sat down! There was a balcony to climb out on to. The sun set on to this, probably the best part of the hotel. Set on a busy road. A bit noisy. A basic hotel but adequate and full of old old charm.

FaceBook just reminded me that I stayed in this spectacular property a year ago … The staff went to extremes to ensure my comfort, indeed staying there was one of the best decisions I made while visiting Asuncion …! If I ever return, I will absolutely stay there again …!

We have been coming for years. And we will continue to come. The rooms are very comfortable, the receptionists are very friendly. Excellent service. Super recommended. Thank you.
