A beautiful hotel with fantastic amenities and a great place to stay.
My apartment is fabulous with the view of the Fairfax habour and the capital city.
Housekeeping staffs are just 110% helpful in making sure all is met and beyond, great department to deal with after my 1st day stay out of 11, however just a heads up to call before checking in as my original room wasn't ready when I arrived around 2:30ish and waited around till almost 4PM before I was allocated to another room (apartment) which pissed me off waiting as it was a scorching hot day and after a 12hr day from waking up, catching my flight then to wait was too much as I was physically drained and just needed to rest. Besides the first bad experience, I'd still highly recommend this awesome hotel. Arohanui.

Lovely views but the service is very poor. Firstly the shuttle took 2hrs to pick me fm the Airport. I had to search for GP staff who were not in sight. I was booked for an Executive room but was unable to get one. That room I was given had power issues. I kept asking for another room to no avail and slept in the dark.
On the next day, I reported agn at the front desk for someone to attend to my queries and left for a meeting. When I returned at 7pm, the problem wasn't rectified and someone was just looking at it after a whole day. When I complained at the front desk agn, I was told there were no rooms available. My request to see the duty manager was turned down. So my 2 days at GP was chaotic.

Great place and excellent food.

Incredible cleaning and service from Nellie on level 11. Made GP feel like a home away from home.

The hotel is nice, the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly.
My issue is with the restaurant, the Grand Brasserie.
I just paid K123.00 for a scotch fillet, salad and chips. The chips I swapped out for Kau Kau chips because I wanted to try them out.
My steak I ordered with garlic butter and medium rare.
My food came out on a cold plate, and my steak was also served cold, so cold that the garlic butter didn't even melt.
The Kau Kau chips were very dry and stodgy, and seem like manufactured chips instead of hand cut. No sour cream accompanied them either.
The waiter, who was excellent, took back my steak and they sent it back to me warmed up.
Only now, I have a very medium-well, under seasoned steak that I've paid top dollar for. It's a shame really, because the hotel and restaurant look the part and the wait staff are great, but to pay that kind of money, one expects a certain level of quality in the dishes that are served, and sadly, they are lacking.

Just finished an appointment at the spa with mayrose, she did an amazing and thorough job! she did threading on my eyebrows and was so thorough and patient, i’m from NZ and this is first and only place i’ll go to in moresby from now on.

Why is it that your very big underground carpark space is only for hotel guests? I'm pretty sure there were a lot of spaces available. I wanted to park there with my family to dine in during the festive season however your guards put us off by telling us we're not guests so we have to park outside. I explained that I have 2 toddlers in the car and would be convenient if I parked inside considering the sun's heat but they refused so we drove away. I'm never going to your hotel again!

A very warm cosy and quiet place for a late night flat white, hot chocky and a yummy Grand steak sandwich.

Third time in two years to stay at GP. My first preference hotel, at the moment. Affordable and decent.

The best Experience. Everything about the hotel is perfect, from the ambiance as you walk into the door, the smiling staff at the front desk with their mangers who went beyond to support and ensured that we were comfortable. Exceptional customer service, the best part is the rooms which are so clean and very comfortable and the view overlooking Ela Beach compliments the class of the Hotel. Seriously I can not fault this place. Great facility, nice and clean, safe for guests travelling alone. Great views, lovely pool. Most importantly — staff are lovely. Thank you Grand Papua for providing a little bit of luxury in PNG. I'll definitely be back.

Historical Site which had the old Papuan Hotel and was recently developed and a Grand Papuan Hotel built on the same spot. Latest Hotel developments that has added class to Downtown Port Moreaby. Worth visiting. 5star service guranteed.

Downgrading Rating: Atrocious Traffic and Some Serious Concept Rethink Needed. It is a nightmare to get to and get out of during peak traffic hours, which in Pom, feels like every bloody hour. Ruling this hotel off my list for 2018 as Port Moresby Downtown gets a facelift. This place used to be great and we used it a lot in 2014 and 2015 when the former management team were there. It seems that it has just lost its spark. PNG has changed since the colonial days but it seems like this is the last stand and Steamships are trying to hold this as the last reminder of the day when the white man ruled PNG. The food is blend and the concept has not evolved past the boys club decor. The 15th floor seems like it needs an upgrade and some working computers. Some of the rooms feel like they have not been cleaned in a while… I mean proper cleaning — to get rid of carpet stains and bed bugs. The one positive are the staff who have remained. On the odd occasion that I pass through, I do get a pleasant greeting. It isn't somewhere I would go to conduct casual business meeting though.

The Place is overpriced. The food is not 5 star although the prices are. You get better meals from a cafe? Or Big Rooster. Breakfast which starts at 6:00am is not ready untill 6:30am. Order medium rare steak and well done. Really only pub meals and low grade at that. The Cheaper Sister the Ela Beach gives better meals. Very disapointed. The staff are really nice.

There was a hair in a Chicken burger which I didn't take too seriously assuming that it was a genuine mistake and this morning there was a tip of a nail inside the beaked beans or omlette. I'm still in as a guest but no one has spoken to me about it though I've complained. Thoroughly disgusting!

Five star hotel with good services… Food is good but limited options for a vegetarian. Rooms are spacious, have a kitchen counter and a balcony overlooking the sea. We enjoyed our stay here.

Thoroughly enjoyed my evening dinner with family and friends with a full course buffet menu. The food was great, staff were neat, friendly and helpful. Lovely and pleasant surrounding for private or business function's. Reasonable pricing on everything. A bar and balcony to enjoy and relax. Will definitely return for another special occasion.

I would have to give the best review for Grand Papua. I have never experienced quick assistance and help from other hotels around Port Moresby compared to Grand Papua. It is by far the best Coral Sea hotel in Port Moresby. We successfully organised a meeting venue for our Softball club and we had helpful staff to assist us. The best thing is they made adjustments to suit our needs for the event and I am so pleased with that. I highly recommend anyone to check out Grand Papua. The stay and service is worth the money.

Had buffet dinner with family. Love the lamb, cold salads and desserts. Great service and friendly staff at the restaurant. The door man was friendly plus the guards outside were welcoming. I would not say the same for the front counter staff. They seemed distant and did not pay attention to customers coming in and going out.

Its the most beautiful short walk ever.

The Hotel itself is ok with best views however the wasn't to good… me and my two boys waited almost an hour for us to be given a room /key to the room. And my kids were like 'mum how long will it take for them to give us the room/key to the room? ' They reckon Holiday Inn is best as they always recommend for us to book in/do reservations for short stay and stuff. Service is really not up to the Hotel standard.

It was an impromptu weekend visit. The entire place looked deserted. The Lobster Tian and the Pacific Prawn Salad was great, As was the Vodka Martini & the customized Gin & Tonic. The Food Menu was not very friendly for vegetarians. The waiting staff were very polite and attentive, however a little slow in getting us the bar menu. Pleasant Decor & Professional Service. Will go again.

I'd recommend your service… world class.

The hotel itself is lovely with the best views however the service is not up to par. We booked and paid for an executive room as a birthday gift for our daughter in advance with clear instructions to have access to the room earlier on the day to have helium balloons put in the room. When we went to check in we had to wait 3hrs for the keys to be given to us and when we were already in the room rushing to get the balloons up the staff call to tell us that we still had to pay a bond fee after we had already paid. We paid, enjoyed a few hours with our daughter then left her to enjoy the room but are never going back. That was our first experience for booking an accommodation and it will probably be the last.

Its The best 5 Star Hotel in Port Moresby.

Very slow service. Food presentation not up to the hotel standard. Food taste just moderate. Not a good place for business dining because table seating too close to each other no privacy. Staffs was friendly. Recently, have new food menu with 25% off which worth to try.

Beautiful view from the room. Room is very basic for the price. Pool is very small. Food is ok.

The views are splendid, the staff are very polite, helpful and professional that's the outstanding feature. I like the assistance at every floor level. I've never seen in any hotel. However, the pool is very small for family convenience. Please provide accessories such as shaving gear, toothbrush, toothpaste in addition to what you have already. Place the hairdryer in the bathroom than the bed room. Otherwise I'd say it's one of the best hotels in town.

Staying at this hotel is an amazing experience, the staff are wonderful so helpful and always greet you with a smile. I would whole heartedly recommend staying there, they treat you like royalty and the food is amazing.

Staff always works very hard to provide international standard lodging to my guests (who travel 30-40 hours and don't have energy to deal with lodging issues). A bit on the expensive side for the location, but they are also, the only choice for business level. Thank you Grand Papua Hotel.

Been here a few times. Impressed with the level of service but I know it is incredibly hard to build a standard from nothing. I thank the hard working staff and middle management. General manager has changed 4 times to date (2016) but the passion hasn't been lost. As long as they realise that times are changing and upscale clientele aren't spending as much and the market is being saturated with hotels in the same price range waiting to the APEC 2018 summit.

A great hotel, well located near the central business district. Themed buffet dinners every night are a highlight. Bar is great for a drink.

Its quite a stand alone hotel in the heart of Port Moresby Town and can be confusing for someone who is visiting. Otherwise has a good view, the food is great, and good atmosphere.

Entry vehicle need lights on sign placed at the entrance to avoid collision with exiting vehicle. Its a must.

A great place for a conference. I'd suggest if its okay to change the uniform from black to something smarter. Some of your people (staff) look scary.
