I loved my experience at Bambuda lodge! Everyone was so nice and friendly. I loved having the family style dinners with everyone. It’s a really nice feature!

Hands down the best hostel I have been to! Family dinner is my favourite time of day. Everything on the menu is excellent! The slide is epic, the staff are so friendly and the whole bambuda vibe is incredible. I traveled solo and met so many wonderful people. I will be back!

Great place at Bocas Del Toro! We enjoy it so much that we have decided to stay a little bit longer!

This place is a little piece of heaven on earth I have been around the world… you won’t find another hostel like it. Did I mention how amazing the dinners are? The staff is pretty amazing too.

One of my favorite hostel while my 6months in Latinoamerica. Loved the family style dinners and the following evenings with all the great people! stayed in the dorm: very spacious and with sea view directly outside the room. Quite expensive, but worth the treat. Sangria Night was the best!

Beautiful place to stay. Nice rooms and great common areas. Communal family style dinners was nice and were very tasty. Breakfast and lunch were average and not good value for money, could be improved. I felt like the prices advertised (food and drink) not including tax was a bit sneaky and added quite to our bill at the end. Water was leaking through the ceiling from a room above into the common hallway, I told the reception staff about it but they didn't do anything. PS Pina Colada could do with some work, was Terrible.

Good atmosphere, very good dinner and a lot of things to do. However, we had some cockroaches in our room and the staff for check-in and check-out was very slow and unorganized.

Excellent from end to end, a place to visit and stay.

Fantastic hotel. Beautiful on one of the Bocas islands in the middle of the jungle. One of our best hotels in Pananma. Also the food was super tasty. The prices are OK but slightly more expensive than at other locations. Take your food from the supermarket from the main island. There are no shopping opportunities on the island. Those who want to make many trips to other islands are better off on Isla Colon, because almost everything starts from there. Otherwise, absolute recommendation!

This accommodation is a dream!
You can relax very well, you have the pool, the sea right on your doorstep. Delicious food at fair prices. Staff mega relaxed and friendly!

Great lodge, beautiful landscaping and fantastic family dinner food. Liked the private rooms (with own bathroom) as much as the jungle huts. Do not forget to read the book filled with amazing stories about the lodge, you can find it at the reception. And yes, the slide is cool!

When I arrived I found a warm place, surrounded by nature, just beautiful, but as the day passed it was not only that, I tried the best meals and met amazing people willing to help you at all. Totally recommended, I would definitely go back.

This hostel is really nice. It's well maintained and the slide is awesome. Don't miss to slide.
What's not hostel-like is the fact that there is no fridge nor kitchen for guests. You have to order breakfast, lunch or dinner at the hostel (except you only eat potato chips)

Small minus points: — we had a relatively expensive room/ Bungalow and were 5 days there — during these 5 days, the trash emptied, it was not Once the towels or linens, let alone changed… the dinner is not until half 8 or you can get it to 8 served — we were by then very hungry — portions are compared with the partly rather high price of the dishes are not very filling (! BUT very well cooked! )

My expectations for this place were so high. Having worked in the hotel industry for years in a few countries and having traveled around the world in all kinds of hostel, lodge, hotels, eco lodge, this hotel is not worth the money AT ALL. Yes the surroundings are nice, but there are plenty of similar places in Panama for much cheaper and better service. First of all, let’s talk about the staff. Worst staff ever. No Hi, no small, never got a Thank you from anyone neither at check out. They make you feel like they are guess too. Lol! The person (Panamanian guy) who “welcomed” us at the reception was nothing but rude. He made us felt like s*, like we were disturbing him. I cannot believe management allows this kind of attitude knowing people take vacation once a year and pick places carefully and expect to be welcomed properly with a smile. Nope. If it was my hotel, I would change the entire staff team except for Tori, who was the only one working for the clients and answering questions. So when we checked in, He barely explains the facilities and even answered me “it’s written on the board” or to another question “someone else will give you the info”. Seriously! He was in a hurry to get back to his cellphone. Then we got to our room. What a disappointment, our most expensive room and worst room so far in Panama. We went back online to compare pictures and don’t do the same mistake, pictures online are NOT representative of the reality.

Top place. Built into the jungle with an amazing view over the sea. They have their own restaurant which has quite good food but which is also not for budget travellers. Since there is no kitchen you can't prepare your own food which might be a no go for some traveller.

Simply put, this is the best place in all of Panama. The food is unreal, the staff is tons of fun, the place is beautiful, the pool is clean and the waterslide is such a cool idea. I can't believe its solar powered and survives on rain water. Its a tropical Paradise. I will be back.

Very nice place to stay! We loved it to make our two last days in panama it was a perfect end! Relaxing away from the big towns and just chilling was very appreciated!

Fantastic place to stay. We had a fiberglass igloo style hut with full amenities in a secluded location. Food was great and dinning together at the same time made for lots of conversation and laughter with people from the dormitory. Good snorkeling and bushwalking combined with friendly staff made out stay special…

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Bambuda Lodge. The upsides: the pool, the cool vibes and the view. But above all, the family style dinners — the food is to die for. The downsides: it is somewhat isolated (a 5$ US boat ride from Isla Colon), it's quite expensive and the rooms are not the cleanest. Plus, the person who welcomed us at the reception was not the friendliest. Would nevertheless strongly recommend a stay at Bambuda Lodge!

The best lodge we have ever stayed at! Like camping in the jungle for adults! Water slide is so fun, red frogs and monkeys in the jungle hike, paddle board to Blue Coconut over the water restaurant and sip a passion fruit margarita while snorkeling w tropical fish, starfish and the doggies there (flea free because they live on the water). The food is fantastic w family style dinner that was to die for. The hostel is very clean and excellent carbon filtered drinking rainwater. Our bungalow was so beautiful w private bathroom and porch. The sounds of the jungle are mesmerizing. The geckos keep the bugs out. And let's not forget the pool that overlooks the bay w the best view in Bocas! We will be back for sure! Great job guys!

Woooow, this place is defenitely necessary to visit. The atmosphere is amazing and it is only reachable by boat. But take care in the night, never take alone a boat taxi. At least be 2 people.

Heard so much good stuff about Bambuda and over all it was a really nice place but it's silly expensive. Since it's very isolated your only choice is to eat there and dinner is between 11-14 $, dessert is 5$. Was fine with this since the food was really good but when we paid in the end it turned out that they charged 2$ for a bad cup of coffee when the breakfast was already pretty expensive. There was also a really bad smell in the dorm.

Amazing place. Best in Bocas. Good mix of dorms and private. Atmosphere is really good. You need to take water taxi from main island.

Very rude staff and no day guests allowed — FYI. Our friend recommended the place so we took a boat from another island. The bar staff said "Your friend suggested this place because it's amazing, now you must leave". Hilarious but not the right way to treat anyone. The place is pretty though.

I could not imagine a better place to have landed on my first backpacking trip. It is an amazing place. The staff do an amazing job of making you feel at home and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The food is great we ate dinner there every night. I can't wait to come back. If you didn't stay here you messed up.

I loved Bambuda Lodge. It's a perfect mix between complete relaxation and just all around fun. I chose to to stay a week at this place to recover from a week of activities and partying in Bocas Town. It seemed it would have all I need: snorkeling, hiking, pool, bar and food. Oh wait, I forgot: a really cool water slide, sloths & iguanas in the backyard (this doesn't happen all the time, I guess I got lucky), sangria-night, community dinners, epic ping-pong matches with Dan (owner) and yeap, the bioluminescence phenomenon in front when the moon was right (you have to touch the water for the algae to light up gold). 2 special topics I would like to cover since I consider myself a senior-guest after spending 7 nights at Bambuda and having lived through around 4 to 5 "guests-cycles". (1) The Food: guests in the beginning seem to be a bit nervous about this topic. "There is noooooo kitchen at my disposal. What?! How?! OMG, it seems so expensive! etc. " First of all, you should have known there is no kitchen when booking, it's written everywhere. The daily dinner menu offers 3 different options to choose from. Be sure to reserve you preference of choice since all options are limited to the amount of guests staying. Not to worry though, all plates are amazing. The range is between USD 10 and USD 14. There is also one dessert-option for everybody (USD 4). Their masterchef Renzo is from Argentina and as all Argentinians, is absolutely passionate about the things he loves: cooking.

Bambuda Lodge, is way more than a hostel, it's a place that will easily let all your worries and stress fade away. The location, guests and its employees are all ages and many nationalities. The people make a perfect ingredient for great conversations, new friends, and some of the best memories I've ever had! Enjoy a few cocktails while hanging out by the pool, lounge, dock, or the bar, while waiting for most amazing meals I have had! (Shout out to the kitchen crew Renzo, Zoe and Ariel) Bambuda has many activities you can do, including a few free ones such as snorkeling on the ridiculously close reef or taking the beautiful jungle hike to see the Red Frogs and Hospital Point. All bunks have personal fans and sheets are included. The reception crew is very knowledgeable about the local area, tours, and transportation In and out of Bocas Del Toro. By far the one of the best places I've stayed! Be prepared to stay longer than you planned! :) ENJOY!

Beautiful and a nice change from staying in town! Quiet, peaceful, lovely. The staff was super friendly, super helpful in helping us find our way around and super down to earth. My boyfriend and I talk all the time about missing our "tree house" and even Sadie the dog! Thanks again Bambuda! PS FOOD WAS RLY BOMB TOO.

Bambuda is only 6 minutes away from Bocas town by water taxi but much different in terms of beauty and tranquility. We stayed here five nights. The rooms and food are good value. There's a fun little coral reef you can easily swim to from the dock. Tip: The filtered water at Bambuda is just fine for most folks, but you can buy large drinking water bottles in Bocas town.
