A neat little place hidden in the financial district, close to the FNF tower.
Simple, clean and friendly (Spanish speaking) accommodation. A great place to meet fellow travellers and exchange travel tips.
Room are clean and cool (a/c). Breakfast is yummy (eggs and toast) and the staff are very pleasant and keen to help.
This is not your 5 star over priced boutique hotel, but an inexpensive, local, down to earth accommodation. Only 8 rooms so isn't huge or noisy.
More of an "inn" than a "hostel"… maybe that's what "hostal" means? The secret to this place is they have the best cheap private room in the city. Great for a girl/girls traveling together, particularly as it's in a really nice neighborhood and has double security gates to get buzzed in. Super safe, that not a very fun hostel vibe. When I was there, the back bar was unmanned and pool attracted nobody. Billiards table is off-kilter and broke but could be a fun distraction if you don't care. Everything seems to be run by one guy, who doesn't speak any English but seems to understand. It's kind of more like hanging out at your uncle's house and he just has a bunch of extra rooms and a pool out back and is like "You kids have fun! Buzz me if you need me, I'll be watching Matlock… "
