Express Inn PTY Aeropuerto Internacional Panama Hotel

First: I do NOT recommend this place. A few good things: + they offer a free shuttle service: It took around 10 minutes for the drive, which I think was absolutely ok — especially because it was free. + it’s close to the airport: I came late and had an early flight the next morning. But unfortunately that’s it about the good things… — the “hotel” is absolutely low budget. But for what it offers, it’s definitely too expensive. — interior is cheap, broken and old. — the room I was in, was smelly and had mold at the ceiling. — internet is only working in the “lobby”, not in the rooms. But the lobby area is basically just a very uncomfortable couch and a few wooden tables with wooden benches. — the staff wasn’t very friendly (but also not unfriendly). They seemed to be very bored and unhappy. — water costs 1, 50$ for 0, 5 liter or 3$ for 1, 5 liters. Too expensive as I think (but untasted coffee for free). — paying with credit card requires a minimum of 6$. Which means you can’t buy a single bottle of water for example (or pay in cash). — cockroaches… — bed was super soft and uncomfortable, blankets overused (but relatively clean), pillows small and uncomfortable. — turning off the working AC was only possible by unplugging it (in the room I was in). — communication before the stay was not very well. I asked about the shuttle service and also about the breakfast and dinner options. Only answer I got was about the shuttle service.

Overpriced, not close to anything (food, bodega, etc. ) Completely run down.

It can be very close to the airport but not the best option to have a good rest.

The employees were very friendly, what I bothered is that it offers breakfast and what Dan is bread with butter and coffee, they should be clear in saying what they offer, I felt cheated and there is nothing close to buy food.

I guess for the money, it's not so bad… you get what you pay for. I just hated that the AC didn't work, the bed linen was extremely worn, no towel in the bathroom, I spotted a roach… simply put: this place is a dump.

There is no Wi-fi, they give very poor attention, the beds were dirty, the location is very lost, the only thing that worked well was the air conditioning.

It is very fun the rent should not go from the 15 dollars considering that they are very small rooms without any comfort cone to collect 50 dollars a twelve hours. That Spaniard is a rat takes advantage of the system.

It is a place to rest while you make your transit in panama is not luxurious, it even lacks of some things, like Wi-Fi in the room there is only in the lobby signal good TV in the end this made to spend the night and since the transportation is free and very-time staff q working there in general serves you well-they have snacks and soft drinks nothing dishes.

Air conditioning bad that almost does not pull air and makes a lot of noise, you hear everything from the other rooms, the bed quite uncomfortable; the only good thing is that is very close to the airport and the fare includes the transport there; useful in case of emergency.

Place is great to stay one night for a layover in Panama but its really far away from anything else. On the website it looks a lot better than it actually is but the rooms are not too bad.

It's a cheap hotel so you get what you pay for. It does not have Wifi in the rooms (just in the lobby), breakfast was just a toast, and there was not hot water. Good if you need a place to stay a night due to flight delays, but don't expect much. I wouldn't recommend unless you want to save money above everything else.

Don't Lose your money. I Had to change room twice. How can you sell rooms with dirty bathrooms and no water? Don't get excited about breakfast… It's very bad. While it is true it is a budget hotel to spend the night when these connecting at the airport, is not an option as you can not rest. The air conditioners are old and make a lot of noise, the pillows are the worst, no respect for the guests.

Welcome to hell! What a junk! It is dirty! Full of prostitutes and dirty sheets! I would give negative stars if I could! I've stayed in bad places as backpacker, but this dump beats it all! When coming to my room, I could hear a prostitute moaning on the bedroom beside mine. Going down to buy water later on, there was this one creepy prostitute staring at me at the reception, probably just finished with a client as she was not there before, and coming back up, the one beside my bedroom had just started the theatrical moaning again… Not a family place, avoid it! Prices are one on the website, other in person, they charged me $25/person, but read the reviews here to see how it changes. Minimum to spend on a card is 6 dollars… Beware and change your currency first, as everywhere in Panama is like that. Came there to sleep a few hours awaiting for a connecting flight, and I simply couldn't. Left earlier, so disgusted I was. Had to sleep with my clothes on affraid of fleas or whatever, barely showered with a flip flop on. Plus, the taxi/van drivers trying to steal us, 7 bucks for 800 m distance and 12 if you use card, just make Panama city a terrible headache, as I had heard, but then I saw it, and now I know they weren't exagerating. If you ever want to visit there, get a resort and never leave it. Coming from Brazil, now I know what a third world broke country looks like. I thought Brazil was bad, but not even favelas are like that. It is much worse than inner Paraguay.

Rooms are clean, location is close to airport. Not a great neighborhood. Lady is nice, barely any English, but we got along.

Leaves a lot to be desired… you starve because they have nothing to eat, at 50 euros the night I find very expensive, the Wi-Fi signal only the catch at reception. The only good thing is the proximity to the airport.

I do NOT recommend it, even for one night. Just to give the highlights: shower is a thin stream of cold water, plane noise during the night, cold coffee in the morning, towells are rags and the rooms do not even have a place to hang a wet jacket.

Staying at Express Inn PTY was honestly the worst hospitality experience of my life. I would give this hotel negative stars if I could. I stayed at this hotel despite the negative reviews because of the free shuttle service. I called in advance to book the shuttle, and the receptionist told me that the shuttle services end at 11pm, and my flight landed at 1am so I would have to take a taxi. When I got here, I was told that there actually was the free shuttle service, and they refused to refund me for the taxi I took based on the information their receptionist gave me. I spoke to the supervisor, Pablo, about it, and he was horribly rude, aggressive, and unhelpful. Apparently customer service doesn’t matter to these people, because I was treated disgustingly. Here, instead of the customer always being right and trying to make their stay enjoyable, they treat customers like the cockroaches found in the rooms. On top of this issue, the night receptionist didn’t tell me the hours for free breakfast and I missed it by 20 minutes and they wouldn’t give me a piece of toast. Furthermore, the room was horrible, dirty, and stupidly designed. For $40USD a night, I expect there not to be insects and dirt in the room. My pillow fell off the bed and I refused to use it because the floor was so dirty. There was only one electrical outlet in the room, and it was at the bathroom sink.

Hotel very close to Tocumen Panama Airport, they have free shuttle service for their guests, breakfast included. Very central for travelers who expect connection flights and need to rest.

Needed to sleep and leave super early trip. Excellent service.

And it's just 7 min away from the airport. Oh and includes a continental breakfast so they say I left before they served it… this is not a 5 star place, it's definitely a 2 3 star…

Take this hotel because my flight was cancelled and was rescheduled for the next morning but it was the worst choice that I could choose from, it is a site desaseado, the attention of staff leaves a bad image of the panamanians because they are completely ruthless and will take advantage of the need of the tourist who require a hotel near the airport for pernotar; the bed is uncomfortable, the TV is useless, the bathroom is terrible, there are wetlands in their surrounding area so that it runs the risk of contracting vector-borne diseases and not telling them of the food because despite the fact that I was forced to pay for it, I was not going to take as my flight was at 5:00 am. I suggest that this site is visited by staff of the tourism authority of Panama for the subsequent inspection and to avoid the deception of more tourists.

It is a shitty hostel the worst experience of my life. Ensim lack of touch with the public. The room that we paid 50$ and was a pokey until cockroaches we found the pillows stank. Or given away again. They should close that site and remodel because that is a scam to the travellers.

Horrible, is a hotel in the middle of a field, it has no hot water. The worst hotel experience of my life. You have known it had spent the night at the airport, he had saved 55usd and happened better. The people of sympathetic attention but offers no solutions to the major shortcomings of the place.

Awful place. Dont ever stay here. One of my sheets were stain with menstruation blood. The breakfast is terrible and the service too.

Please avoid this hotel. It seems affortable at start but they will take your money. Night $65 + taxes for 3 adults + $15 for two kids. $30 for what suppose to be a free shuttle. Broken AC, broken sink faucet. No shower head only a pipe with cold water. Breakfast nothing only black coffee. You will be more confortable in a jail cell.

It is a shame that Tourism to enable them to operate, as they may call themselves hotel? does not reach even to pension, care lousy, housekeeping, "0", customer service "0" comfort "0", grim. A mockery to the guest.

Only put a star because if not I could not leave any comment. The hotel is pesimo. I am mexican and they charged me to begin with 7 dlls the taxi from the airport to the hotel is a 5-minute walk. When arriving they charged me 50 dlls for a room terrible. Big shame attention. Women are poorly educated. And also I was told that breakfast was included, which was courtesy of the hotel haha, but it was only orange juice artificial and cookies maria, apart from that he had a milk out there already rotten that it gave a bad smell. I only left there because I had no option and that I needed to sleep for a while before catching my other flight, as was connection.

They told us the shuttle was free. It never showed up. Then they called us a cab and tried to make us pay $15 to go to blocks. All at 4am. Terrible place. Room smelt like urine.

I booked this hotel twice for each one night to be close to the airport. Rooms are in a very bad state, Wi-Fi only in the lobby (unless you got the first room in the corridor) and the staff didn't speak a word of English which is embarassing for an express hotel of an international airport and bad luck if you got some important questions about your transportation to the airport and they're not able to answer you! and all that for 55$!

I've used the Express Inn PTY about 4 or 5 times and the rooms are hit and miss quality, but if the price was low, I could have lived with it. The last time I stayed there on a monday night the clerk wanted $60 for a double bed room. I am a jubilado (retired) person and the hotels in Panama are required to discount for retired folks. Their own chart on line, under Hotel Express Inn PTY states that during the week M-F, they charge $35 for jubilados. The first time I went there a couple of months ago, their price was $40 just a bit above, and I didn't complain cause I thought the poor folks running it needed the extra. It could be such a great little place so close to Tocumen, but this "Gringo" pricing knocked me out. There's a whole bunch of places for $60 with a lot more comfort.

The worst decision was to take the hotel opposite the airport. This hotel is located in an area that was invaded, the sector is not pretty, photo touting have nothing do with the rooms and the landscape is in prison. Care is terrible, they hire girls without any education, they do not possess own electric power plant, was the day that I was light two times. They say that they include breakfast, that never occurred, because the employees were in a lively chat with the driver of the transport, a rude Spanish. Soon a few Honduran passengers decided to leave I I adhered to them and also a Mexican and we were commenting on this dump.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, not only in a narrow living room. While in the living room I saw a cockroach of at least 5 cm walking path to the kitchen of the mentioned place. No to misleading advertising.
Ahh and do not accept credit cards such as American Express and Diners. The paradox was that I made the reservation with american.
