Nice place for rest & best place feel like forrest.

Lovely staff, especially Zachira, restaurant waitress, Yenis ' Daza Borja, Bar and lounger, charming and helpful, large and comfortable rooms, rich and varied food, great pool, and beautiful lake, very nice week.

Personnel is great! But the place looks and feels abandoned. House keeping and towel service is terrible. Restaurant is overpriced.

Good attention nice place in Colon only that food is a little pricy but big portion and good.

It is a quiet and cozy place, to be in contact with nature by touring the ecological trails along the banks of the Panama Canal, if you are lucky and you go quietly you will see some animals in their natural state and enjoy kayak rides.

Very good food in a well kept restaurant. The location is perfect-it's a former military base "Gringo"! But absolutely stupid management of the present owner! Uups, how everything is running!

Rustic charm and good cuisine.

Excellent place, a space that preserves the old and makes it luxurious. The room was excellent, with a super comfortable bath, delicious food, I stayed there 2 times, one with all inclusive and the other not. And when you try everything you were offered (including a private lake) I just give you a great rating.

Stayed as RCI exchange in 2 room, 2 bath apartment. Nice facility with full kitchen. Had monkeys outside of our room on 2 evenings. Restaurant food was good, staff bent over backwards to meet our every need. Jacinto Yard is taxi driver assigned by hotel to offer tours. He did excellent job driving, great English, friendly, accomodating, and knowledgeable. Karen Wood was our contact point. Great english, friendly, far exceeded our expectations. Only issue was cloudy pool water made pool uninviting. Very remote location. Cab from Tocumen arranged by Melia was $85 one way for 2 people. No where to go on foot. All excursions off property (Atm, groceries, liquor, shopping, etc) all require taxi except Chepes just the street that offers wings, burgers and steaks. All tours and transportation arranged by hotel staff are cash only. No ATM on property, but on the way to and from tour sites.

Excellent location, nice weather, excellent food just like the attention of the staff, especially Alfredo and Massiel at the bar. They really strive.

If not the best in the area one of them is the Meliá Panama Canal, great among many, very cozy to be with family.

Beautiful Hotel with all comforts, very large outdoor pool, located next to Lake Gatun. Excellent for rest.

What a bad hotel! Really old and outdated… furniture is terrible. There was a bug in our bed! Several hairs… we changed three rooms and found it in all rooms… also bad how they handle complaints. Had such good experiences with Melia but this one ruined it.

Nice but old fashioned hotel that lacks the proper maintenance. The pool area is very nice and the buffet is good but somewhat expensive. The hotel's location is far from the Colon free zone with free transportation but few trips.

Lousy facilities on the outside is the first impression. Little clientele. But it has an enviable natural area.

Excellent experience, delicious food, very good pool area, I consider that they have to attend to the structure of the hotel as far as maintenance of exterior paint and the connections of the rooms are not the best!

Structure very abandoned, almost decadent, I have not slept in the rooms so I do not know how they are, but the exterior is very decadent, the place is beautiful for the outside is next to Lake Gatun rich in greenery and animals of the nearby rainforest.

Liquors: Dry, Grandpa, Stanislav and Kentucky cream. Except the bartender of the Poolbar (Manuel), Katiuska and the lifeguard. All the waiters have bad attitude, serious faces and seem to do a favor… The food is poor and usually cold. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The end of The year party: The same lousy liquors, poor attention on the tables… Only the artist except the night… I would never go back.

Another place where nature gets the main place. A cozy place to spend with family and friends and get in touch with the fauna and lanflora of this beautiful country. The food is excellent.

I call to reserve and Mrs Rosa transfers the call with the person in charge and the call is cut, so 3 times, Osea Rosa does not know to write down the reservation data? (something that even a boy 9anos know how to do) for when the person comes Encagarda deliver?
A hotel that cannot be booked when the staff is not in charge. How is it going?
I ask that I want to speak to the manager and never this. "Or don't want to pass it"

Nice hotel… Good breakfast… Only problem we found that restaurant closes at 10 pm and nothing is available after that.

The hotel can improve, there are no umbrellas in the pool, no maintenance to the outside area, the snack area should have a better location and the bars have a very limited offer. The interior decoration is good, it evokes past times, there is only one restaurant but the food is very good and the rooms are comfortable.

The attention was good but the facilities were not in very good condition. Although it is an old building full of history, I feel I was very careless. They can give you better maintenance.

Excellent service, varied menu. In the pool I saw the lifeguard testing the water early and scoring. Ancient and beautiful architecture.

Stay very comfortable with the lugrar. A fresh environment surrounded by nature. With a variety of food buffet and esnack. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool is very deep and with spectacular bars of which you taste all kinds of drinks.

Very nice place, with good location on the seashore of Panama Canal. Good rooms, prices are not high. Service and food in range as well. The best in this hotel is swimming poll. Also want to mention that hotel is located among the jungle so you can here the birds, it's adding good impression. Can recommend to everybody.

Building is historic. Great view of the lake in Panama canal, serene environment.

Place is great in location, views, amenities. But is a very big place hard to maintain I guess and sometimes it shows. I've come several times with family and friends, we use it also as a base to visit surrounding places like Portobello, the Canal, eat at the Marina hotel in Shelter Bay and go to little beaches in the San Lorenzo reserve.

I decided to go for an overnight stay at this hotel since I got an online offer and it was just before the kids had to go back to school. I had been there before but for a wedding so had not really had a chance to enjoy the place. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Mr. Michael whom dispite the set back of our rooms not being ready and us having to wait for over an hour to do our actual check in, was so sweet and welcoming that I just could't think of getting angry. Anyway we finally got our rooms and a courtesy late check out for the following day, due to the delay so that was nice, the kids loved it… "Thanks Mr. Michael. " The rooms were ok but even after the long wait once we settled in we noticed their were no towels in the bathroom so we called for some and decided to go enjoy what was left of the day. Atfter having gone to the pool and taking an outdoor tour of the area we returned to our rooms to find that even after approx. 4 hrs. Of having requested bathroom towels, we still had NONE! I started to get upset. It was a long time for them to have been able to bring them up and watching my kids shivering in their wet pool clothes needing to get a bath and dry up and not having the towels there, just made it worse. I called for Mr. Michael but he was not there so spoke to some other girl who did have the towels sent up right away. I want to make a long story short because the rest of our stay mostly involved time at the pool and the retaurant during meal time hours.

The truth that very good experience, place is well remodeled, and the inside of the humidity and environment conditions this very well maintained and preserved. The kitchen is GREAT, in the 3 times and there is variety. It has good bars and supplied. Only the red wine that give by the glass is a little stronger and there is not another option. Fully recommended to rest and pass it different.

It seems to Me misleading advertising… The hotel this as "the doldrums", "vanished"… Very few people and the service is very basic to be promoted as all inclusive of first level. A pity because they were our last days of vacation : (I thought that we would be much better… My kids found dirty pool … And very few people working, you have q go of your to search for all …

Not served. Expensive and bad. Smells of humidity. The air conditioning does not work. Really do not waste your money.

This hotel feels like a haunted mansion, it's old and it's falling apart. The employees have a terrible attitude, they don't even bring the check to the table. And don't even dare to ask for ketchup, they have the courage to admit they don't have it. Stay away from this place.

Excellent welcoming super super acceptable price, however the air conditioning service is pretty poor and the bar need you with urgency the operation of the karaoke is a super stress busting activity for those who seek to relieve the stress.

Perhaps best described as dictator chic, this hotel gives the impression of having once seen much grander days. However it remains clean and comfortable. Food options are limited: aside from the hotel restaurant (buffet style; not much to write home about) there isn't much else nearby. If you venture towards Gatun Locks (and you should), try the decent little restaurant in the nearby Shelter Bay Marina Hotel.
