Dear customer.
I recently stayed for a week at the Diamond Lodge, which operates under the Ibis name. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
My room had small bugs, possibly spider mites or aphids, and I even spotted ivy-dwelling beetles like the Ivy Boring Beetle. I complained multiple times, but the lodge owner was incredibly rude and aggressive, instead of addressing the issue. When I showed him my swollen face and arms from the bites, he simply moved me to another room, but the problem persisted.
I also pointed out the garbage outside the lodge and showed him a video of the insects I recorded on my iPhone 5. Despite this evidence, he refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. He insisted that I either stay for the full week or pay for the entire stay to leave early, so I ended up paying for seven days just to get out.
The lodge lacks a kitchen or any access to hot water for coffee or tea. While there are grocery shops nearby and waitstaff can fetch items for you, they expect generous tips, or you won’t receive any service.
Air conditioning is only available between 5 PM and 10 PM, which is frustrating. Additionally, there was no daily cleaning or linen change; they only provided it once during my stay.
The lodge also has a questionable reputation, allowing guests to bring in sex workers for an extra fee. The owner is heavily armed and employs two guards for security, maintaining a close relationship with the police.
