Old Hunza inn

One of the best places I stayed in Pakistan. Great view from the room. Ali and the rest of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Anything you need, like car transfer, tour, laundry, etc, they can arrange it for you in fair prices.

I have nothing but good things to say about my stay at Old Hunza Inn. Liaqat and his team (s/o Ali especially) went above and beyond my entire stay, helping me arrange transportation/trips, checking safety measures, and more. By the time my stay was over I had felt like I gained new friends rather than just being a customer. The location is stunning, possibly one of the best hotel views I’ve ever experienced. Altit and Baltit Fort are both within walking distance, and even if you don’t feel like walking into town (or ride), the team will cook you a meal for a very reasonable price (which the rooms are as well). Already looking forward to the next time I can plan a trip to Pakistan so I can see them again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem in Hunza – Hospitality from the Heart.
I had the most wonderful stay at Old Hunza Inn, a place that feels more like a home than a hotel. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming — especially the little book corner where you can curl up with a tea and a view of the majestic mountains.
Breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and dinners featuring authentic local dishes were a real highlight — fresh, flavorful, and served with care. The location couldn’t be better, close to the main attractions yet peaceful enough to truly relax. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped.
What truly sets Old Hunza Inn apart, though, is the kindness and dedication of the owner, Liaqat. When my travel friend went missing during a hike up to the Ultar Glacier, Liaqat didn’t just call for help — he personally joined the rescue team and helped bring her back safely. His compassion, courage, and genuine concern went far beyond what anyone could expect.
Old Hunza Inn isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place that restores your faith in humanity. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

What really made the Old Hunza Inn special was its owner Liaquat. He is very friendly and willing to assist guests in any way he can. He even invited me to a party where I met some very interesting people.
The hotel itself is a good medium budget choice with rooms with different prices according to view and facilities. The common area is comfortable and spacious with lovely views over the valley. A range of tasty food at reasonable prices is available from the hotel kitchen which has a dedicated chef. The Baltit Fort, Altit Fort and Ganish are all within walking distance for a fit person.

An absolutely amazing place. Terrific location. While being in the center of things the hotel is still secluded enough to be your own little corner of paradise. We walked through nearby Karimabad Bazaar up to Baltit Fort. Spectacular views of the mountains from the balcony. The hotel suggested and arranged all our forays into the mountains. From Hoper glacier to Eagle's Nest, Altit Fort, Khunjerab Pass and lots more. A stay of ten days does not to justice to the place but is great for a first time visit. Best of all were all the people working at the hotel. They make you feel right at home and go out of their way to assist you in all possible ways. You feel like family from the first day onwards. And their Chop Shoro is the best in Hunza! We are already planning on going back this Autumn for a longer stay.

A great place to kick back after a day on the bicycle. Although the push up the was a killer. Received a warm welcome and a tour of the rooms. Views are fantastic. Dinner was very filling and tasty. Good Wi-Fi in the lounge. Thanks.

The view of the lounge is exceptional, the whole valley can be seen. Definitely gonna be back here whenever I visit Hunza.

Had a great few days at Old Hunza Inn with the beautiful view over the mountainside. Liaqat was a very knowledgeable and helpful host who treated me like a member of the family inviting me to join a celebration one night, and we loved our day trips with Ali who was always smiling and answered all of our questions. Note that the cheapest rooms available on HostelWorld are quite basic and do not have the mountain view, but the common area is well decorated and the views from here and from the roof are spectacular. For more money you can get a room on the terrace which shares that lovely view.

Super helpful and welcoming owners. Had a great time and they made our stay in the Hunza valley really easy by helping organise hikes, tours and trips. Great views and a wonderful time.

No electricity, no Wi-Fi (Only for 4-5 hours out of 24 hrs) and barely got hot water. The manager was unreachable most of the time and just left some young folks to run the hotel who has no idea how to handle the situation.

The staff are extremely kind and welcoming! The rooms are fit for purpose with nice warm water, they could do with some basic redecorating to match the great decorations in the main reception area. Food is great and the chai is delicious! There is a bit of a treacherous walk down to the inn, down a slippery concrete slope — I assume this will be fixed soon!

This is top choice for foreigners. I met people from Japan, German, Italy and Scotland here.

Gorgeous hotel with a great common space to meet fellow travelers. The rooms were nice and had a lovely view of the mountains. Food was good as well.

Leo is warm and welcoming and is a wealth of helpful information. There is a good variety of rooms with different prices to suit backpackers upwards. It’s in a quiet location near Zero Point. Power is intermittent (as it is everywhere in Hunza). Food was tasty. TV showed the Olympics which made us happy. Hot water and comfortable beds with amazing views. Great place to stay.

The hotel/hostel is great! Clean, comfortable and the staff are amazing.
The lounge area looks over the valley and the restaurant there has great food!
You could sit there for days!
The rooftop also offers a great place to relax.

Great overall experience, stayed here for 2 nights. The location is impeccable with a picturesque view of the Hunza valley with the gorgeous Rakaposhi and Diran peaks in the background.
The rooms were nice, and well decorated. The service was timely, the staff were courteous and responsible. The owner was very nice and cooperative. We enjoyed spending time here.
Overall, a solid experience. Would definitely recommend.

View is fantastic, but that's the only good point. Everything else is poor. I'm a Japanese tourist and had very poor experience as follows; I would never come back here again.
— When I checked-in, CEO/owner himself welcomed me. We asked "What time does breakfast start? " and he said "7am". Then we asked if they can serve me 6:30am, because we had to leave early for trekking. CEO agreed. Next morning, I went to restaurant 6:30am and no staff there. I waited until 7:15am, still nobody. Electricity & Wifi stopped, I had nothing to do. I gave up and went outside for breakfast.
— Room amenity is poor: no electric kettle, no coffee cup, no shampoo (only a super small soap)
— Overall I sensed no professionalism or positive energy from staff in reception/restaurant area. Often "no staff in floor at all", or staff keep checking mobile phone. I guess CEO's staff management is poor.
