SERENA ALTIT FORT RESIDENCE

Having stayed at Serena Altit Hunza for four nights in 2024 and again from 14–17 June 2026, I can confidently say that this is one of those rare places that leaves a lasting impression and keeps calling you back.
For travelers who appreciate nature, tranquility, history, and authentic Hunza vibes, Serena Altit is simply unmatched. Surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens, overlooking the breathtaking Hunza Valley, and located next to the historic Altit Fort, the hotel offers an experience that feels deeply connected to the culture and heritage of Hunza. While Serena has another wonderful property in the region, Serena Altit stands out for its character, warmth, and authentic atmosphere.
Every morning begins with stunning valley views, birdsong, and the serenity of the surrounding gardens. One of the things we love most about this property is that it encourages you to slow down, breathe, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Hunza rather than merely passing through it. Whether enjoying morning tea in the gardens, admiring the valley views, or taking a stroll through the neighboring Altit Fort, every moment feels special.
What makes the experience even more memorable is the warmth and the dedication and hospitality of the staff. From the front office and housekeeping team to the restaurant staff and management, everyone was consistently courteous, helpful, and eager to make our stay comfortable.

1 Our recent (7th May 2026) stay in Serena Altit fort residence Hunza was wonderful.
2 Standard room hurtz was fully private. Peace ful and with full amenities as described in website.
During stay we got problem of bath shower. However, this issue was addressed immediately and new shower was replaced with one phone call.
3 Kha Basi Cafe located on hill surrounded by Royal garden with chirping of Magpie and Koyal. We got the chance to see Koyal never saw before. We enjoyed the dinner and buffet breakfast. Everything was freshly prepared with high quality. Staff (specially females) was well mannered, humbled and caring.
4 Complimenyry visit along with guide of Altit fort was worth full and got chance to see the 1000 years old architecture and life style of Royal legacy of region.
5 One suggestion: There is a need to improv the road from Main KKH to Altit fort.
Overall experience with Serena Altit fort was awesome.

And the fort as well as the adjacent old village places to be seen.
I would always prefer the rooms in the house and not the huts.

I was pleasantly surprised by Serena Altit. Located within the Altit fort, this is a great location. The gardens have apricots trees, is very peaceful and the rooms have excellent views of the surrounding mountains. Location is also great. Will definitely stay there again.

A very comfortable night stay at the hotel, friendly staff and a great balcony with the hut room type… The stay allows u complementary visit to the altit fort, breakfast needs slight improvement though.

This hotel is inside the Altit Fort area. Car Parking is far from the actual property so you need to take a long walk to reach the rooms especially the huts. Otherwise it's a gem.
Comfortable huts with nice amenities. They have small but clean rooms and washrooms. Absolutely great valley views from huts. Staff is amazing and courteous. Food is good too.
Best thing is that hotel is nestled among the local houses and shops where you get to meet beautiful and welcoming local people. You can learn about their amazing culture and rich traditions and get to experience their local food.
However, the car parking needs to be a lot better. My suggestion to the management would be to atleast make a solid floor for the parking as the loose soil makes a lot of dirt and bad impression to the visitors and arrange for the cleanliness of the way from the parking to the property and make the streets solid and arrange for their cleanliness. Permanent staff should be deputed at the parking area because sometime the cars get stuck due to small parking area. Once or twice my car got stuck as other guests parked in front of my car which wasted a lot of time. Gate of the parking is also quite small which makes it difficult to get the car inside or taking out because locals also park their cars in the street in front of the parking gate.

Be it the best place to live in hunza with luxury and serene views.

Top notch stay here for 3 nights with family. Really peaceful and comfortable. Love it. And the people are lovely.

We stayed here for 3 days and everything was perfect from spacious room to trees and garden outside. If you want to relax then this is one of the best place in Hunza.
Service is excellent and all staff working here are very cooperative and made our stay memorable.

The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special. The room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was delicious!
The location of this hotel was perfect for exploring the Hunza Valley. The bedroom window view is out class river, snowy peak mountains can be seen from our bedroom window and the room was so comfortable, the room service was prompt and friendly.
The amenities at this hotel were top-notch. We loved our stay here!

Good place for tourists. Charges are slightly high. Need to be reduced 20%.
The quality of food is excellent 💯. Neat and clean environment. The inner hall is very small and congested. Less place for seating. Over all grading 9/10
