Review of Hilton Salalah Resort 5*

Fine beach property of Hilton in Salalah. They have a fine quality five star hotel with a descent swimming pool. Hotel has 3 bars, one is a poolside another near the main restaurant and "The Chequers" is the sports bar near the entrance gate and bit isolated from main property. Rooms are spacious and clean. They also have a health club including Spa where massage and Sauna facilities are available. The entrance has a grand landscape with fountains and a parking lot. Staff is polite and helpful. Service is good. During our stay we observed that, place is famous among senior citizens; as 95% of the guests were over 50 years of age. They spend most of the time lying in the sun poolside or facing the beach. Table tennis and fussball is available near the restaurant; however the accessories are outdated and need to be replaced. "The Chequers" is a sports bar with only one pool table which too is worn out. Sticks are not good enought to play. Need to be replaced as playing is no more fun. This bar is mainly famous for local Omanis chilling out and chit-chatting. There is no price menu here so don't forget to ask for discount as the bartender tells the price orally. Breakfast is average compared to 5 star rating. We experienced that the restaurant staff is bias when it comea to the hospitality towards Asian and European guests. One African staff was serving coffee to the white guests witn smile, but when my friend asked for a cappuccino she pointed her finger towards the coffee machine and said you can get it from there. We gave our feedback on this to the restaurant manager Salama and he apologized. There was a good experience too. When we asked for the billiards, the staff perso ally escorted us till the gate of Chequers bar and notified the bar tender about our visit. Which made us feel special. We were 3 adult males to explore the adventures in Salalah. We had booked for 3 nights but left the hotel after 2 nights.
