Beautiful hotel. Stayed in a “historic” room on the 4th floor. Very nice room and had amazing views from our windows. There was a wide variety of delicious food available for our breakfast. Very efficient and friendly front desk staff.

If you are adventuring around Flam this is a very good home base. There's plenty of parking and the breakfast buffet in the morning is quite nice. The standard rooms aren't anything particularly special but they more than get the job done. When we return to Norway, we would definitely stay again if we around this area of the country.

A great location by the fjord. Many activities are available in the area such as walking routes, biking and even renting an electric car to viewing spots high up in the mountain. The staff is quite helpful and kind. Breakfast is strong and dinner buffet has many fine options.

Another nice place to stay but not a lot in this town except the beautiful views and the relaxation. Nice place to do leisurely hiking and the views are really nice. We enjoyed this hotel with good breakfast, nice restaurant for diner with good food. Soft beds, comfortable and quiet.

No phone in room, No room service! If you need a towel, toilet paper or tissues you have to go down to front desk, or if your lucky catch a room attendant in Hallway. Not something you want to do in a busy hotel in your jammies. Ridiculous! What if their is a medical emergency? They don't even have a phone in the Hallway. Floors and Walls are thin you can hear everything. People walking above, in Hallway talking, etc. It is "historical ", so it offers that charm nicely with antique furniture in rooms with cute touches. They offer buffet for breakfast and dinner and both were good. Staff very nice.

Great hotel in a fabulous location! The view outside our balcony was breathtaking. The breakfast and dinner buffets were good though lacking in lattes. The rooms were very nicely sized though they were a bit noisy. But not enough for me not to come back.

Great hotel. Small village, so you conveniently walk around whalf. We got the large corner room facing the water on the 3rd floor in the new section, with an already made pullout sofa to sleep 3 and a small walk out terrace. Request the new section if you want a more modern room than the historical section (doesn't have TV and has a tub). Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of food options, from fresh made waffles and crepes to cereal, smoked and marinated salmons to herrings, eggs, sausages, local cheese, yogurts, etc… Really nice lobby and bar areas.

The hotel was clean, the breakfast was very good and the service was great. Only one issue, late check out was not offered. We had a planned event and had to check out quite early and were unable to change or freshen up prion to leaving for our next location.

Good hotel, close to everything in the village, amazing view and the food is high quality. The rooms are decorated nicely, but no heavy curtains, so if you don't like the almost 24h of light in the summer, bring a mask. This makes me give a bad grade, hotels are for sleeping and this part was bad for me.

Best night of my Scandinavian tour. First rate staff. View from the room overlooked the harbor. Evening buffet was delicious.

Beautiful sites to behold. Love the interior and the area near flam. Nice walking trails in the area a few restaurants. Lovely staff. Breakfast was pretty great too.

The hotle is very nice and close to a lot pf attractions in the area. I toom a room for 3, and it was very big. The breakfast and the Wi-Fi were not very good.

Clean and welcoming but the rooms could use some updating. We went out of season so the hotel was pretty empty. Some lovely views from the rooms. Breakfast was lacking.

It is a beautiful hotel with great rooms and a great decoration and lovely staff, besides that there are several Spaniards, that always comes well.

Enjoyed our stay here tremendously. Grat staff, meals and location. Well equipped rooms with tea and coffee facilities. We even had a bath, not only a shower. My no 1 choice for next time!

An amazing hotel — every little detail was flawless. Welcoming, friendly staff and gorgeous rooms. I was lucky to be on the 4th floor and had an insanely breathtaking view of the whole town and fjord panorama! The rooms are spacious and have everything you could possibly need (many plug sockets, towels, TV, complimentary toiletries, etc).
The bed was very luxurious and comfortable and there was a bath which I was not expecting, so was a nice bonus for me.
The breakfast was exceptional and was very varied and was the best buffet style I came across in Norway. So much choice it's unreal.
Staff let me leave my bags securely locked in the luggage room while I went on the fjord safari the next day as well.
Cannot recommend this hotel enough :)

As lovely inside as it is outside! It feels like a warm and inviting mountain lodge when you first enter. Check in and check out was a breeze, the rooms are a good size with very comfy beds and bedding, and the Wi-Fi worked well. We had a room with a garden view which also means a view of the harbor and includes a small balcony with 2 chairs. Very nice! The breakfast buffet is a generous size with everything fresh or else cooked to perfection. There's a library room onsite and a viewing deck on the top floor. The lobby downstairs has a bar on one end and a fireplace on the other with plenty of comfortable seating. The views out the huge windows of the breakfast room are lovely. We enjoyed friendly service throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

Great historical hotel. Good food options. The room we had was a littlr tired, but the place itself is impressive. We had a very good stay.

I loved this hotel. The staff who works here are great. The service is wonderful. The front desk girls comes out and meets you, if your traveling with a tour group. I highly recommended. Very close to Safari cruise. Easy to get to by train or cruise liner. The Resteraunt staff is very friendly. I highly recommend a visit and stay.

This place gets really popular and crowded so book early if you'll like to stay here while in Flåm. Very well located right by the Pier and train station, this historical hotel has been refurbished to accommodation more tourists in recent years. The rooms are still considered basic and somewhat dated. I reckon more can be done to improve the interiors as would be expected from the price paid to stay here. Bathrooms floors not heated so winters might be scary. Breakfast was pretty nice with good European assortment and there's also local Norwegian brown cheese which you should try if you haven't already. Service staff were excellent, always smiley and helpful. They make this hotel a really nice place to stay in.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fretheim Hotel in Flåm, Norway. We got there via the Hurtigruten (Norway in a Nutshell) fjord tour and stayed one night. Gorgeous views and top notch Norwegian food. Lovely interior, concentrating on historic details and theme in decoration. There is also a museum-like wing that shows the history of the area and gives the old hotel feel to the place. Very helpful staff. They were the best. I would love to return to this place.

The hotel is nice in average, conveniently located, the food is good, though not super duper, but good, the staff is OK, I got a room with a bath, as in the rest do not know, prices also do not know.

Is located in the ideal of the fjord and the flåm railway station!

Beautiful historic hotel. Conveniently located near the train station and city center. Our room was in a historical wing and the room was charming and elegant. Staffs were friendly and helpful. We took a free tour of the hotel which was very interesting-highly recommended. Make our night in Flåm memorable.

Stayed here in early March 2016 in one of the historic rooms. It was the slow season so if you like solitude and don't like crowds, March is the time to go. The hotel was amazing: big, lovely lobby with local art; lots of comfortable places to sit and relax with a pot of tea or a beer. Large lobby window / glass wall looks out into the fjord. Stunning view. Our actual hotel room was comfortable, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean. The bathroom had a claw foot tub. It was so clean I took a bath. I would never, ever consider a bath at a hotel but here it was irresistible. No TV in our historic room. We did have Wi-Fi. Staff was exceptional. I wish we had booked more than one night.

Stayed here in 2013. If you have one "splurge" hotel during your trip to Norway, this is a great one to pick. Nice room, wonderful view. "Oh look, there's a cruise ship in a picturesque harbor right outside our window. " Amazing and recommended provided you are letting thrift go for this stay.

Very nice place for a alright price. The place is very kind to their customers as we had an issue with our train causing a 5+ hours delay and the hotel kept the restaurant open for an hour longer which also the food was very nice. The beds are comfy unless you ask for a third and given a sofa bed as it is almost back breaking. Also here I had a Godzilla-like moment when I realized that the clouds next to me weren't clouds and infact, a giant mountain.

Great hotel, but pricey even for Norway. Fjord views from the front of the hotel are great, even though its set off the water about 2 blocks. Room was very clean, the lobby and restaurant area are gorgeous, and I would highly recommend the 5 course dinner (well worth the cost). Staff was incredibly helpful when we were sorting out travel problems from earlier in the trip.
