Integrated in the beautiful Tananger harbour, Hummeren provides a very charming and honest experience. The dinner was delightful. The food was prepared very tastefully, letting the quality of the sea products served shine it's way. The service was even better. The waiter (Ine) was very kind and had an ever present smile, something that definitely makes the guest feel a lot better. With good weather, the outside porch is a delight. … The rooms where elegant and squeaky-clean. The bed was also very comfortable. The view is also something to become very fond of very quickly. The breakfast did not provide a particularly large selection, but the fact that everything presented looked and tasted incredible more than made up for it. A very well deserved mention to the fresh fruit :) Staying in Hummeren was a very positive experience, that I highly recommend. It will give you a long lasting smile in the morning, just the way to start your day.

Very friendly staff, cosy rooms, great views and a great breakfast buffet — very accommodating service.

It is a great hotel and close to where I needed to be. My only complaint is the limited menu in the restaurant, but the food was good. I also would have liked a refrigerator in the room, but I never asked for one so I have no idea if that is an option.

Very good time at the restaurant, quick and attentive service. The Xmas food buffet was varied and well prepared. Great location and good atmosphere inside.

The Hummeeen is starting to show that only the basics are being done to maintain the hotel. It is clean it is tidy but it is tired and needing a face lift. No in room tea or coffee making facilities so even this standard level of service is not available should you want a cuppa first thing. The menu is the same each day so you do face a limited choice. Yes it is a fish restaurant and it should be sitting right on the harbour wall. But the choice of Lobster, Salmon and Cod is very limited. Then there is the cost. Okay so this is Norway and it's not cheap but a single bed and an evening meal with a help yourself breakfast for £200 a night is quite a lot.

The location is good, but that about it. Most (not all) of the staff was just bad, they didn't even look up and say hi when I spoke to them. The rooms as far as I could tell from our companions (we were quite a large crowd) had all just single beds and multiple rooms had cobwebs in them. The decor is old and very outdated. It looks like nothing has happened since the 90s and it is just nothing that looks good in today's world.

Been here as a wedding guest twice. Excellent food and the location is fantastic. Nice and welcoming staff. Would probably check the weather for sunny skies before booking.

A cozy and quiet place to spend the night after arriving on the ferry from Bergen. Enjoyed dinner in their bar and breakfast in their dining room overlooking the harbor. Kind staff ensured I was able to look after laundry after a week of traveling. Better prices than in the city, and very comfortable. Will definitely visit again!

Having stayed at the Hummeren several times since Feb' 2016 I can safely state the following:- 1. The food is excellent
2. The Staff are excellent
3. The showers are excellent … All round a fantastic place to stay.

Excellent food, great atmosphere. The staff is always intereseted in giving good service. Tananger has also a lot of history, which is interesting to explore after your conference, workshop etc.

We stayed at the Hummermen for the Olsen family reunion in 2003 and found it to be a wonderful place to celebrate the Olsen family. Ingebret Olsen was the lighthouse captain on Flatholmen who lost his life in January 1894 along with one of his two sons. The staff was kind and helpful. John.
