Preikestolen BaseCamp Hotel

A truly unique experience, the views from the top are impressive! But not for the faint hearted! Quite a hike up 1-30 to 2 hrs and does get very busy. Don't expect to be alone in the summer, it's like a busy motorway!

Stayed in a double bed hostel room. Only had 1 shower per floor, had very thin walls, and limited outlets. Otherwise, the accommodation was fine if not a bit pricy for what you get. Food was decent given the limited options in the area.

Good place to stop and grab a beer after the trip up toe Preikestolen! Great view out onto the fjord also! Prices as expected at a tourist attraction in Norway.

So expensive with so little facilities. The rooms were small compared to the price 1550 NOK with bath. The soup in the restaurant was very good esp after daylong hiking and with empty stomach. Otherwise it’s a good place with nice view around.

— Absolutely overpriced accommodation. £75 for a tiny hostel-like bedroom with 2 bunk beds. Beds are very small and hard. Pillow-quality was poor to say something. No towels included
— One shower for a whole floor to share. No Wi-Fi in the bedrooms (only in the main building)
— Walls are made of paper. You can hear every conversation from the people next door.
— Shared kitchenette was terrible. We tried to boil water to cook pasta for over 1 hour and eventually had to give up.
Good things:
— Amazing views over the lake. Nice picnic tables where you can eat/have a drink if the weather is nice
— Good breakfast (included in the price)

Two stars. One for the site and the other for the employees.
For €80, off-season, you have the right to bunk beds in a 6m2 room, a shower per floor, to make and unmake your bed and pay an extra €3 for a towel.
Fortunately the common areas are spacious and with a magnificent view of the Snowy Mountains.
The breakfast was plentiful, it caught up with the stay.

Good place to stay for a Preikestolen hike. Breakfast and parking included. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are on par with basic hotel accommodations, and reflective of the price. The rooms are private, but noise can be a problem if you’re a light sleeper. The room also could have been a little cleaner, but was in line with expectations considering most patrons are here with gear. Note: All bedding and linens (the important stuff) were very clean. If you are looking for something nicer, stick to Stavanger, but the convenience for the hike is worth the trade.

Affordable route. Very very pretty. We made it with snow and the best thing is to rent the kids. Don't do it without them. Enjoy it, and don't do the crazy.

Great location to visit Preikestolen. The walking trail is just a few dozen meters away.
We slept in the hostel part located in 2 buildings below the main building, overlooking the small lake. The room was simply furnished but very comfortable though. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great choice of deli, cheese, jams. Perfect for taking strength before going on a hike.
Free Parking for hotel/hostel guests, but limited places.
High prices, but this is the case everywhere in Norway. The proximity to Preikestolen also justifies the price.

The mountain that is worth climbing, just take good shoes.

Beautiful place very busy noisy rooms… Climb to the famous pretty sporty rock in wet weather caution the top with children or an animal (no vacuum protection. )

Experience limited to a quick lunch at the hotel on return from the visit to Pulpit Rock. Prices clearly altini because of the prime location and space that can become a little noisy at lunch, but the quality of the food is very good.

It is truly a hike that is worth alone the trip to norway.

The view you have from this place is unique. Hard to explain, easy to see.

Very difficult climb for non-athletes.
Can't get to the top. Plus it was raining ropes.
The road is made of big rocks.
You have to think that the way is to be done both ways.
Equipment is rented for those who do not have good shoes, or hiking clothes.

It is the only structure close to the eponymous attraction. In my opinion, a bit too formal and makes it lose a bit of the charm of Norway. In spite of this the prices are not too prohibitive (always consider that you are in Norway). I've used it only as a point of rest after the return from the top, but I noticed that the prices of rooms are affordable. For the more demanding there are also several souvenirs that always considering where you are, are not so dear.

Tourists are brought here by bus. From here begins the ascent to pulpit rock. Here you can replenish water reserves or spend the night after a long ascent.

The most beautiful place right at the beginning of the trail on Prekestulen. The normal price for Norway is despite the location. Breakfasts are included in the price and they are awesome. You can use the kitchen, a lot of dishes. It's a good shower. Its parking lot. I recommend to everyone who came to prequelinne.
