First started coming to The Bristol Hotel in 1989. Since then it has been my go to hotel in the city of Oslo. The decor is superb reflecting its place in Oslo’s history Not cheap but worth it for the style and exceptional service at this establishment!

All staffs serve a very great service. The room had a very comfortable bed. I will definitely come back here for sure when I visit Oslo next time.

My top 3 during our stay: — the central location — the scrumptious breakfast — the heated floor in the bathroom.

Excellent reception staff. The rooms were quiet and beds incredibly comfortable. The room was well equipped with coffee & tea, Bose Bluetooth speaker, and complimentary bottled water daily.

Our favorite place to stay during the Jul holiday! Great atmosphere, staff, rooms and breakfast. We'll be back. :)

It’s a place where you can relax without noise while having a meal. Soft background music you’ll find inner peace.

Love the Hotel Bristol … terrific Staff!

A very nice hotel with a perfect location exactly in the heart of Oslo, you’ll need no transportation to see most of Oslo’s attractions, the rooms are recently renovated and beautifully furnished, great and helpful stuff they’ll never let you wonder always at your service, the Bristol bar and Bristol grill are both one of the best in Oslo, very historical that you can feel it while dining or drinking inside, I would advice any one to try the afternoon tea which is served at Winter garden and bibliotek bar, my advice is, try hotel Bristol and you’ll never regret.

We had a remodeled larger room, which we found very nice. There is a good coffee machine in the room and a very comfortable bed. The room has s very quiet. Breakfast is very good with a good range of foods. But, we struggled to get service in the cafe downstairs.

Nice hotel in center of Oslo. Close to National Theater. Interior of the hotel is old style. The building is quite old with long corridors and staircases sometimes with not any logic The room was big and nicely furnished and in good shape. Complimentary coffee, tea and water in the room. Safe box and equipment for ironing in the room. Breakfast was rich and tasty. I can recommend.

We enjoyed our stay here. Nice location in the center of everything. Short walk to about everything in the center of town. Nice restaurants. Very accommodating and nice rooms. Quiet.

Worst afternoon tea we have ever had.
We booked an afternoon tea in advance with allergy alert: no meat. Fish, dairy products, eggs — are fine. We booked a table at 14:00
We showed up at 13:50 and got a table, waiter asked us about tea — I chose chai and my partner got Darjeeling. It took them 20 minutes to bring tea. I came to waiter and asked for how long it will take them to bring everything? It takes 25 minutes to make an afternoon tea — was the reply. OK, why we ordered it at 14:00?! No idea. Why does it take that long to bring ready made sandwiches and petit fours? A handle of the kettle was too hot and impossible to hold. See the photo of the kettle below. It was not much taste in tea, I think they kept it in a box for too long, it didn't taste fresh. After 10 minutes we got the rest: 2 eclairs, 2 cherry cheesecakes, 2 chocolates with dry fruit/ 2 scones with jam and whipped cream (not clotted), 6 sandwiches — 4 with cucumber, 2 with salmon and egg. Sounds ok, but: they didn't remove skin from cucumber and didn't cut it properly. Actually first time in my life I saw cucumber cutted so uneven. They change goat cheese sandwich with ham to… a cucumber sandwich. Again! We came, because afternoon menu seemed to be good, but in a real life it looked very disappointing. We sent it back and payed only for tea 100 NOK. Service is poor and quality is low.

A quiet, quiet hotel. Pure, large room.

Location is just wonderful, as is the staff. The hotel has an old Victorian style which is perfect for tea parties. As an overnight guest I do prefere a more modern look for the rooms, but that is my personal opinion.

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… We have been here twice in two different rooms; both were very nice but one was substantially larger, we may have been upgraded for our second stay. The hotel was made in the 20s and has a renaissance revival feel with a little British imperialism thrown in. They had one of the best buffet breakfasts we have had in Scandinavia. Also they have afternoon tea (make reservations) that was fun. Very nice central location near theaters and shopping. We would stay here again.

It was very comfortable. First trip out of the Country and I felt comfortable like being in my home. The breakfast was fine food wise. I enjoyed my stay.

Historical surroundings and good food. A little pricy.

One of the proper old hotels in Oslo, well run, with respectful and friendly staff. Altogether a throughly pleasant experience every time I've been, whether for afternoon tea, or today, a family Christmas do.

Really nice bar setting and ambiente. Prices are relatively high although not outrageous for Norwegian standards. It has a classy feel and could be nice for business customers as well. Not too loud either.

The old fashion look and feel of this hotel has been kept well, while still providing modern comforts. Decent sized room, great breakfast buffet.

We had afternoon tea today there. And while the surrounding are nice, the service is (and I chose my words) horrible and food ridiculously overpriced. We waited over 30 minutes for the food (and we’re talking already made sandwiches and petits four) and an extra 5 minutes for the tea, we had to ask 3 times, received a “I don’t have time” comment from the Maître d’hôtel. This is just unacceptable! And of course not even an apology! For a bill over 3000 nok, you would expect at least normal service.

Nice historic hotel with very comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Had a good nights sleep and after that an amazing breakfast buffet. Staff was helpful and very friendly.

Classic comfortable Hotel — Great location! Hotel Bristol is one of Oslo’s most venerable historic hotels. I have stayed here several times on business trips but this was the first time on a private weekend trip together with my wife. We had a nice large club room (no 518) which was clean and comfortable. It was also nicely furnished, tasteful decor and all the amenities we needed. My wife loved the L'Occitane products in the bathroom. The location is perfect for walking around downtown Oslo. The main reception/ sitting area is very luxurious with mirrors, artwork and chandeliers (see attached photos) Open faced sandwiches and cakes are also served in this area. The breakfast is amazing with a huge selection of hot and cold dishes and we had constant attention from the staff. Hotel Bristol was a wonderful hotel during my stay. The staff was excellent, the rooms are great and it's in a nicely located in Oslo.

Good hotel, very well located close to the Royal Palace and Karl Johan. Food was good and staff very nice. Internet was very slow.

Very clean and comfortable but some rooms can get noise from the Hard Rock Cafe.

Wonderful hotel, with a lobby/foyer that is decorated beautifully. Wood panelling, chandeliers, massive book shelves. Room was well appointed and comfortable.

Classy, but the hotel is a maze!

Totally old school — but not outdated. Staying here is like stepping into a time machine to. I dunno… 1910? A pretty amazing experience; we actually spent time in the lobby area (sort of bar/lounge/library, of sorts) to soak in the ambience.

This is a beautiful hotel. You wouldn't know it from the outside, as it is rather nondescript. The inside however, is resplendent in classic decor. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke excellent english. The rooms were beautiful, clean and pleasant. The rooms we had did not have much of a view to speak of. We had rooms on the 3rd and 5th floor. The bathroom was on the small side but very nice and well laid out. This hotel has an outstanding breakfast buffet. I really can't say enough good things about this breakfast. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. My whole family love the breakfast and looked forward to it every day. This hotel is about 1 block from the Stortinget T-Bane (metro) station and about a 10 minute walk from the National Theatret T-Bane station where you can get the Flytoget (airport express) train. Also you are only a minute's walk in any direction from the numerous busses and trolleys that can take you everywhere. There are numerous museums and dining options just a short walk in almost any direction from the hotel. Though for better (and better priced) dining options, walk a few minutes away from central Oslo. We took this trip to Oslo for a change and it turned out to be excellent. We were able to take in several museums as well as 2 days skiing at Oslo Vinterpark, which by the way is accessible right from the T-Bane from the Stortinget station one block from the hotel.

Better than Grand hotel in some ways. I love the domesticity of the place. The fountain is nice in the entrance.

A different style, but warm and so nice. Staff was helpful, great location.

Hotel: Love the lobby, the restaurant and the bar. Live piano music, chesterfield armchairs/sofas and great drinks. My favorite hotel in Oslo Restaurant: Great food, great service, great decor. What else do you need from a restaurant? Worth a visit. Start with a drink in the bar.
