Vi liked our stay a lot — it is a special place with its own Charme especially from the older parts of the hotel, with a huge cosy lounge area.
Some parts of the place are a little aged and do need a cosmetic update and but we did like the family atmosphere and wish the owners all the best for turning this into something great.
As for the location — it is located in the middle of stunning nature with direct access to the vast networks of well mai tailed ski tracks and a bit less crowded then the rest of the mountain area.
Looking forward to visit in summertime too.
Location, friendly environment, the food is amazing.

THE SECRETS of HORNSJØ HOTEL REVEALED:
They don’t want You to know: This is an old creepy moldy hotel run by unprofessionals. Their employees are enslaved immigrant workers who are paid below standard wage. The management does NOT honor their contracts. Management campaigns regularly for ‘workaways’ who will work for free. Hornsjø overcharges their employees for room and board while employee lodging and food is beyond horrible. ‘Just ask to see their kitchen at dinner time… the manager Lena recycles food and sauces left over from other guests plates! My months working here were a nightmare. I seriously CAUTION guests that the food is substandard, poor quality (at times even dangerous) while food safety and integrity is absent in their kitchen. BEWARE as nothing is as advertised when you stay at Hornsjø. And remember to ask them (and the locals) about the murder and tragic deaths that have occurred at their hotel…. Employee death this year due to their lack of attention and continuing negligence. Also, numerous sled dogs are kept and neglected on site. Chances are a dirty dog has occupied your room before your arrival. If you do stay here, be certain to book the least expensive rooms possible as every guest gets the same style room and food whether you pay $$$a lot$$$ or a $little$.
