Good location and good view.

Slow service and no Wi-Fi.

Hotel bar/food area. Good food and beer but crappy service. Took for ever to get a beer and 20 minute to get my second one. Will never use this place when there are others around.

The food is ok but the dining room was very full and the buffet crowded.

Lovely experience. Spacious comfortable room with a stunning view. Beautiful indoor pool, as well as a small but stylish outdoor pool. Breakfast good, but not the best I've had. One Caffè latte/cappuccino machine for this size of hotel is not enough.

Dinner and breakfast are super. But the room got on the ground floor with windows in the yard. There's no such kind of sight. But the road to the hotel is very sour.

Nice hotel with good facilities! They have a outdoor pool with massage and very nice warm water. The rooms are big and the standard is OK. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing that kept me from giving out 5 stars was that the buffet was a mess with the signs that shows different allergens. They even switched out the food and put it on the wrong spot so some signs where showing the wrong information. Not good if you are allergic to specific ingredients.

The rooms are generous in size food is plentiful but dining room is very busy at meal times. Walk into town can be arduous, hi down by steps come back by road however there is no footpath. Great town.

Spectacular views. Friendly and accommodating staff. Enjoyed breakfast each morning and ate lunch and dinner there a couple times. Dinner buffet is good, but the dessert bar is exceptional. Got to try what they cal the Norwegian National Cake. Rooms were comfortable. Nice soft beds. Best part though is the view.

Platsen har en fantastisk utsikt! Personalen var väldigt trevlig från blandade nationaliteter som kunde många språk. Vi var där på påskbuffé, vilken smakade fantastiskt! Och för att inte tala om alla efterrätter! Fräscha lokaler.

Great place with a wonderful view. We went for a recreational trip, and left woth a feeling of relaxation, impressiveness and a picture of the norwegian nature thst you cant forget. The relaxation-zone in the spa is heavenly. We ordered food up and had a great time having the food brought up were we sat. Personally I loved the collection of old cars. Did you know that Geiranger Union Hotel actually has the only functional example of the Studbaker President 1926 in the World?! The service is great and the staff does a great job!

Everything is good, only the rooms a little need to freshen up. Breakfast and dinner is rich, but there was no delight in taste. Well, I think the price is a little high.

This historic hotel has a little bit of a Shining vibe with old architecture and decor that hovers over the mountain above the fjord. The vibe definitely evokes a feeling of the good old days of European tourism. The cafe inside is a nice spot to grab a craft beer from the local brewery and there’s ample seating outside for nice summer days when the sun is out, overlooking the town and water of the fjord.

Beautiful place, the spa is wonderful endowed with different areas of relaxation, aromatherapy, massages of the hand of experts, swimming pools, really a place of charm even more shared sines with your partner.

Nice hotel and definitely worth a stay. View is everything. Hotel itself I would compare to a typical USA National Park Lodge. Well kept but feeling it’s age and a long way from a modern city hotel or resort. But really who cares with a view like that. Lobby bar and food excellent. Service very good. Only 4 hotels in town and this is the only year round option.

Buffet is rich in dishes, such as crayfish, caviar, ice cream and other hotels rarer dishes, lobby next to the sofa area is very magnificent, there are outdoor seating to see the fjords.

Great hotel we enjoyed to visit even if it was for just one night. The pools inside and outside plus the sauna. The museum of vintage cars. A lot of good stuff to enjoy.

The location is, as one would imagine, breathtaking. There are great views all around you in Geiranger, and the hotel is perched a little way up the hills so you get a wonderful view of the fjord and mountains. The hotel itself is pretty good. Staff is friendly and helpful, the food is very good and the rooms quite nice. The hotel is currently renovating some rooms, and the completed ones are beautiful. The older rooms are dated, but servicable, and cleanliness is good all around. A negative about the older rooms is that there is no AC. This means that on hot summer days the temperature in the rooms without AC skyrockets. The hotel says that this will be rectified when the next round of renovation gets underway. For now I would recommend making sure you get a room that has been renovated. Prices are also very steep, but this is in line with the rest of the popular tourist locations in Norway. All in all it is well worth a stay for the magnificent views alone.

Spectacular view from our 10th floor room, if staying here try to book a Fjord view room as the other side are direct on the road. Well situated for all amenities and the breakfast is good but no bacon on offer.

This hotel had average rooms, but the view from the rooms was absolutely breathtaking. The rooms were fairly old and hadn't been updated in quite some time — they felt a bit musty. The walls were very thin, and you can hear a lot of noise. But other parts of the hotel were beautiful, including the lobby and the spa/ pool area. There is a heated pool outside with the most spectacular view. Restaurant Julie was expensive but delicious, the view was worth every penny! The room came with breakfast included, an average quality breakfast buffet. It is a bit of a hike to get up to the hotel, so have that in mind, especially if you have luggage. All in all, the highlight of Hotel Union was the view.

Pros: This hotel has such incredible views from its rooms that it doesn't need anything else — the views make it the best hotel in town. Luxurious interior. We enjoyed the pool, breakfast, and concierge. Cheap chocolate bars available at the front desk :) Cons: The walls are thin — you can hear people above and beside you knocking and opening doors. The rooms are okay — reasonable comfortable and spacious. We were overly hot in our hotel room at night, although it's fine if you open the windows for a while in the evening. There's no conditioner in the bathrooms, a pet peeve of mine. It's a 10 minute uphill hike from town (no shuttle), which is fine as long as you're not toting heavy luggage. The towels aren't great quality, and the outlets aren't in convenient locations. But these small nitpicks don't compare to the ultimate highlight of this hotel: the view!

Hotel is well situaded but also has some very bad rooms. Was given a room on "7th floor" wich in reality is ground floor and immediately next to the city through road. So no view and heavy traffic 5 metres from the bed.
Room interior is extremely worn and dated.
Hotel does not keep the in-room information sheet up-to-date. I tried to log in to network and it failed multiple times. When I finally asked reception they just said "yeah we changed the password". Simply unprofessional ingnorance. And the in-room info is just 3 simple printed sheets of paper (not a fancy binder) so it really cant be difficult to update the info. Details like these indicates that the hotel is pretty poirly run and I wouldn't go here again even if they give me a nicer room.

The best possible view of the Fiord. Very polite​ staff. All amenities present. But the best is their buffet dinner which is better than most 5 hotels. Congratulations.

From the hotel you can enjoy a great view of the lunch made with soup and fish seasoned with sour cream to taste the berries.

There are two views… the trees at thw back of the hotel … and the amazing fjord! We were lucky enough to be on the fjord side. I definitely recommend that you request this side if you stay here. But the other side isnt bad either. The fjord view is just breathtaking though. The hotel is in the best location. The town is only very small and you are a 1 minute walk to anything! The grocery shop, souvenir shop, the boat pier. And the fjord! There are a lot of hidden gems around the hotel: the golden tractor, Costa Magica, the big troll statue. And there is a great waterfall walk just behind the hotel. The hotel layout might be a bit confusing. It was originally 2 hotels. And there is a walkway between them… a bit of a maze but nothing dramatic… The decor is… old… but one may say it adds to the charm. The rooms are very modern though. Amenities were good. Bath shower so you could have a bath if you wanted to! Great lighting and access to powerpoints which a lot of the hotels around here lacked. Also our room had a balcony with seating which wad great. Breakfast and dinner service was great. Buffets for both however staff were very prompt to clear tables and plates, take drink orders and refill food. The food was also great. Lots and lots of variety. Massive dessert selection. However… a lot of the food wasnt to my taste. It still looked great — snd nice seafood! Overall I rate the hotel highly. Decor isn't to everyone's taste hotelout is a bit confusing.
