A disappointing hotel, it is old with no character. Dirty floors, the bathroom was probably the worst part of the hotel. If you are an older person, be careful because they have a tub that’s just placed on top of the concrete old tub which makes it to high to get in and dangerous when getting out.

Got upgraded to a room with an amazing view! What’s more can I say?

I spent 5 days at this hotel. It is real dissapointment. Old worn out furniture. Uncomfortable beds, mattrasses and pillows should be in garbage. Lighting is crazy. Rooms are real disaster. 1*. Pitty since position and views are nice. I could hear peopel snooring in romm next to me. I felt robbed for my money. I did not sleep well. Dont visit it. My honest advise. 5 stars is for the fantastic view from the room. Unfortunately there's no restaurant open Sunday we got guidence to a close by restaurant. Well worth a night or three.

Scandic Alesund is a nice hotel with pretty views of the bay. (See the attached photo). The hotel is conveniently located in the center of the city, and there is paid street parking (use the Pay station). The rooms were clean and quiet, and the staff were very friendly and responsive. The highlight of our stay there was the breakfast buffet, which had a wide variety of things to eat, including Norwegian seafood.

The hotel was nice and clean. The front desk attendants were very helpful and friendly. It is an excellent location. The price is very reasonable. The only criticism we had was that the finish on the rooms was less polished than what I've experienced elsewhere.

Good place to stay overlooking the harbour. Excellent breakfast as ever, the highlight for me is the self-service waffle machine.

Great location was here in 2012 and the staf were great. Good breakfast comfortable beds and good Wi-Fi. Fantastic view of the harbour. Most rooms have comfy Stressless chairs. Well stocked bar.

Always a consistently pleasant stay at Scandic Ålesund. Excellent location — great views over the water from the restaurant. Clean rooms, reliable Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, friendly staff: always a solid choice for business travel. If you're looking for a nice water view from your room, don't take the cheapest option as some rooms face adjacent buildings (upper-floor rooms on this side are level with a street). But I would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff is well trained to look after all your needs. Excellent food and drink quality. The view from the hotel is spectacular.

Great location and the staff was amazing. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the hotel is dates and the parking is less than ideal. The hotel itself is a great place to stay in Ålesund.

The hotel is located a stone's throw from the centre, directly overlooking the port of Ålesun. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is varied and of good quality. The staff is nice and helpful.

Older than the others in the chain, but valid. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good.

Checkin was fast and friendly. Hotel and rooms are modern and clean. There was no mini bar as advertised as they have stopped providing that. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. The shower door in room 325 is broken. They claim to be environmentally conscious with their soap and shampoo dispensers but at the same time provide individually wrapped plastic drinking cups in the bathroom. Our room had 2 single beds pushed together which meant we would fall between them unless we stayed on our side of the bed. Made sex or cuddling difficult to impossible. Breakfast was good.

The hotel offers a very convenient location for touring the city. Very nice view from the breakfast room on the sea.
